Everyone is a slave to something
Transcript
00:00Everyone is a slave to something, including Pharaoh, king of Egypt.
00:04This time, God gave Pharaoh an ultimatum.
00:07Let the Israelites go, or Egypt would face punishment.
00:10If ignored, a pestilence would strike, killing millions of Egyptian livestock.
00:16Pharaoh had little time to decide.
00:18Yet again, Pharaoh chose to continue enslaving the Israelites, prioritizing his control over them.
00:24His decision led to Egypt suffering, as his people lost their livestock,
00:28vital for food and livelihood.
00:30Pharaoh's ego mattered more than the well-being of his nation.
00:34This story shows that everyone can be enslaved by something desires,
00:37fears, power, or even the urge to control others.
00:41Pharaoh was enslaved by his desire to dominate?
00:44Ironically, his desire for control made him a slave to his own power.
00:49We should reflect on ourselves.
00:50Are we truly free, or are we slaves to something?
00:54Do we, like Pharaoh, have a need to control others?
00:57Can we free ourselves from such desires?
01:00In the New Testament, Apostle Paul declares,
01:03I will not let myself be enslaved by anything.
01:05As a leader, Paul always set the best for others.
01:09We too can follow his example, striving not to be enslaved by desires or ambitions.
01:14Through today's reflection, may we examine ourselves and determine if we are truly free.
01:19Let's emulate Paul's mindset, seeking what is best for others
01:22and striving to break free from the things that enslave us.
01:25Jesus bless you.
01:27Amen.
