00:00Hello there, it's Richard Hunt here from the Lancashire Post and the Blackpool Gazette.
00:05My mission today, to try the Mac Rib. Now I don't know if you've heard about this but
00:10the Mac Rib is a vintage meal available at McDonald's but it hasn't been available for
00:1615 years. First launched in 1981. Now, today, October the 16th, for a limited time, it's
00:24making a comeback and it's been called Iconic. So I've no idea what this is, I can't remember
00:32when it was around, when it was around. So I've never had this thing before, I'm going
00:36into it for the first time. So here's the bag, and box it out. There we go. Get a load
00:46of that. Yeah, yeah, okay. Why am I trying it, you ask? Because I am alright, don't
00:53start. Sorry about that, just thought I'd get us in the mood. So, let's just see. It's
01:03going to fall apart, knowing my luck. There we go, this is what it looks like. It's um,
01:08can you see this? It's squashed against the tree here, looking a bit weird. I hope no
01:12one's watching. So, it's that sort of shape, you can see that. And this is what would be,
01:20oh shit, bits dropped, sorry about that, bits just dropped off. Ooh, losing an onion. Perhaps
01:25this isn't wise, maybe I just should eat it and shut up. Alright, so, alright, here goes.
01:32Alright. Yes, I think I'm some sort of, anyway, never mind, never mind. You know, my remit
01:49today, just to be honest about this, I'm not to flim flam on behalf of McDonald's, so,
01:55to be honest, do I like it, do I like it, you know what I mean? And so far, it's got
02:09some sort of sauce on it. I never discovered what it was, it's a barbecue sauce, is it?
02:19No, not barbecue, something else. So, it's very pleasant, I must say I do quite like this. There's
02:34not too much on it, it's not, you know, swamped in lettuce or any of those things, or green stuff,
02:40you know how sometimes it does, it plonks loads of stuff on it. It's plain, just the, just the pork
02:45patty, as they call it, the onion, the sauce, and yeah, it's definitely, I don't know why McDonald's
02:58got rid of this in the first place, to be honest, it's surprising. It's really easy to eat.
03:16Pleasant flavour on the pork, very, very nice. It's, um, yeah, it's very good, I like that. I don't know
03:27what the script is with McDonald's, are they going to bring it back permanently, if people,
03:30I don't know if people like it, I don't know, but certainly, it is nice. Would I get this,
03:40instead of my usual favourite at McDonald's, a quarter pounder with cheese? Probably not.
03:48Sorry, probably not, but maybe for a change, maybe for a change. If it was still on the menu,
03:54and someone said, oh, do you want, do you want a McRib? I might say, yeah, all right, for a change.
04:00So, it's definitely quite nice, I can see why it was popular, and, um, I've actually bought two of
04:10these, there's another one in the bag, so I'll probably eat that as well, very greedy. So,
04:14it's a thumbs up from me, I must say. Thank you, Richard Hunt, with a mouthful of McRib, signing
04:24off, all right.
