00:00Hi, welcome back to my channel, in this video, I will explain the ending of Strange World,

00:04so let's begin.

00:07Strange World is a 2022 adventure animation film directed by Don Hall, spoilers for the

00:11film's ending follow.

00:14Strange World ends with some twists, a huge battle and some family healing.

00:18The film begins with the father and son on a mission to go past the mountains.

00:23At a critical junction, Searcher notices a plant that seems to harness electricity, which

00:27Searcher believes could be incredibly useful to the people of Avalonia.

00:31However, Yeager has his eye on the prize and abandons their group and his son in order

00:35to find out what's beyond the mountains.

00:38Cut to 25 years later, and Yeager remains missing, while Searcher has made the plant,

00:42called Pando, a major crop for the people of Avalonia and the source of the village's

00:47energy.

00:48But when the energy within Pando starts to fade away, Searcher, along with his wife Meridian,

00:53Gabrielle Union, his son Ethan, Jabuki Youngwhite, Avalonia's president Callisto Mal, Lucy Liu,

00:59and a group of explorers, try to find the heart of Pando and see what's going wrong.

01:04This heart is underground, and soon after crash landing in this world, Searcher finds

01:08his father Yeager, who has been trapped in this area for the last 25 years.

01:13The expedition of Strange World largely revolves around following the roots of Pando in order

01:17to get to the source of the problem.

01:20Upon arriving there, the group sees that several creatures are attacking the core of

01:23the Pando, and the team starts fighting them off, assuming that these invaders are the

01:27cause of all their problems.

01:30Ethan shares his reservations with his father about killing these creatures, saying that

01:34it doesn't feel quite right.

01:36So what is the world in Strange World?

01:39Near this core of Pando is a hole, which Ethan and Searcher find themselves on the other

01:43side of.

01:44This hole leads to what was beyond the mountains, an entire ocean and nothing else.

01:49However, when they look back at where they came from, they see a massive eye staring

01:53right back at them.

01:55It turns out their home is actually on the back of a giant tortoise-like creature, and

01:59that their entire journey has been through the insides of this walking landmass.

02:03It doesn't take long for them to realize that the crazy things they've seen are different

02:06organs of this creature, and that the roots of Pando are actually destroying the heart

02:10of the tortoise.

02:12After meeting resistance from Meridian at first, the family and the crew decide to destroy

02:16the roots of Pando.

02:18Even though it will be difficult for the people of Avalonia to live without the advances that

02:22Pando has granted them, it's better to be without the conveniences than to not have

02:26a home at all.

02:28Once the group returns, Strange World flashes forward a year, showing how Avalonia has survived

02:32in a Pando-less society.

02:34While Avalonia isn't as technically advanced as they once were, the town has united together

02:39to make the most of their situation, and has found that surviving without Pando isn't as

02:43hard as they once thought it would be.

02:46Yager finds the wife he left 25 years ago and makes amends with her and her new husband.

02:51Ethan, who has been torn between the farming life of his father and the exploring life

02:55of his grandfather, has found an in-between as we see him taking care of the creatures

02:59in the underground of Avalonia.

03:01We also see that Ethan and his crush Diazo, Jonathan Mello, have also gotten closer.

03:07As Strange World ends, we see Yager and Searcher looking over Searcher's new crops and are

03:11now closer than ever.

03:13After disagreements and a quarter-century apart, father and son have finally found common

03:18ground after rediscovering each other underground.

03:21So Strange World's ends with Pando being destroyed, the truth of the giant creature being discovered,

03:26and the entire world of the island being saved.
