00:00I've been part of the committee that chooses the projects to be awarded for a few years now and I'm becoming more and more aware of the importance of this program.
00:13We are all convinced of the importance of research and innovation, but we are less aware of how difficult it is for a young person to start a research path.
00:23Unfortunately, it is much easier for a senior person to obtain funding for research and much more difficult for a young person.
00:31Young people, on the other hand, often have much more innovative ideas, much more groundbreaking ideas than senior people.
00:37The good thing about this program is that it allows many young people to start a scientific career that often results in high-level results.
00:49As far as the oncology sector is concerned, there are two main characteristics.
00:54On the one hand, very innovative projects that aim to characterize human tumors from a biological point of view and to predict their evolution and responsiveness to the available therapies.
01:10On the other hand, projects that aim to improve the quality of life of oncological patients.
01:17So, not only to cure these patients, but to move from healing to the well-being of these patients.
