00:00The overall forecast as we head into early parts of next week, here's the setup.
00:04We're going to see this ridge in the jet stream, and what that's going to do,
00:08that's going to allow that high pressure to strengthen and intensify,
00:11which is going to be why we see the warm and dry air here across the east coast and to the northeast.
00:17On the other side, you're going to see this dip right here in the jet stream.
00:20That's going to bring cooler air across the northwest,
00:23and it's also going to kick off a wet stretch of weather for the Rockies and the Four Corners.
00:27Higher elevations are not just going to see rain, they're going to see some snowfall mixed in with this as well.
00:33So here's a look at that dry spell that we're going to be watching out for across the east coast and the southeast here
00:38as we head into the weekend.
00:39So little or no rainfall, but as you see on the right-hand side of your screen,
00:43the first responders were doing the recovery efforts for both Helene and Milton.
00:48This is going to be a welcome relief for them because not only are the temperatures going to be below average,
00:53but it's also going to be very dry, so not quite as muggy across these areas.
00:57But how much rainfall are we expected to see as we head throughout the weekend?
01:00Well, take a look at this. Some showers possible across the east coast of Florida on Sunday,
01:05but other than that, if you live east of the I-35 corridor,
01:09you are not going to see a drop of rainfall here as we head into the weekend.
01:14And some of these areas have already been tracking as the driest October ever,
01:19and that streak is going to continue.
01:20We're going to see drought continuing to worsen and intensify here across the east coast.
01:25Low temperatures here as we head into tonight.
01:28Whenever you have high pressure dominating the forecast,
01:30high pressure normally means clear skies and light winds,
01:33and that combination allows temperatures to just bottom out.
01:36And that's what it looks like is going to happen tonight.
01:37We'll see overnight lows a mix of upper 30s to low 40s.
01:41It'll be a chilly start for your early Friday morning. 39 tonight for both Raleigh and Nashville.
01:46And then as we head throughout the day tomorrow,
01:47we'll see below average temperatures here across the southeast,
01:50which once again, as you see on the right-hand side of your screen,
01:52is going to be a welcome relief for those first responders
01:55and those folks helping out with the recovery efforts.
01:58High temperatures for Friday.
01:59It's going to be sunny and it's going to be calm and mild.
02:02Temperatures in the low to mid 70s.
02:04That's going to be great with quiet and dry air in place.
02:08So that's really going to help out, especially as we head into the weekend.
