00:00But Damien in the southeast here we still have some major recovery weather to talk about and
00:06aside from a few nuanced problems most of the weather looks pretty decent. That's right this
00:10area of high pressure is really going to improve the conditions here across the southeast for any
00:14recovery efforts from hurricanes Helene or Milton. So here's the overall setup we have this persistent
00:19area of high pressure continuing to dominate the forecast here as we head throughout not just the
00:24weekend but into early next week as well. But the one thing I really want to key on key in on is
00:29going to be the rainfall totals because yes because of hurricane Helene and because of
00:34hurricane Milton those brought record-breaking rainfall to these areas but other than the areas
00:38that were directly impacted by the hurricanes it has been very dry statistically over the last 30
00:44days and some of these areas yes they did see some record-breaking flooding devastating rainfall but
00:50other than that other than the areas that were impacted by the hurricanes it has been very dry
00:54here for this part of the country including over the past seven days this is a look at the total
00:59accumulated rainfall over the past seven days and you can see just a pitiful amount here across the
01:05east coast into the southeast and it's going to stay that way here as we head throughout the
01:09weekend. Here's our future rainfall projection here across the east coast in the southeast
01:14we'll see some rainfall possible across the state of Florida here for the weekend but other than
01:18that maybe a shower for New Orleans but if you live east of the I-35 corridor which pretty much
01:23bisects the United States the lower 48 we're not going to see anything not a drop of rain in the
01:28forecast here as we head into early next week. Now during this time of year whenever you see
01:33clear skies and light winds which high pressure systems primarily produce that allows temperatures
01:39to just bottom out and that's exactly what's going to happen once again for tonight we'll see a mix
01:43of upper 30s to low 40s here for overnight lows across these areas but the good news is for the
01:48afternoon hours you can see all the recovery efforts there on the right hand side of your
01:52screen we're going to see pleasant weather here for the weekend take a look at these highs on
01:56Saturday they'll be in the mid to upper 70s but the best news of all this area of high pressure
02:02is also going to bring with it drier air because the east coast the southeast is really known for
02:06having humid conditions there will still be some pockets of humid conditions but overall it's going
02:11to be a very good forecast to aid in those recovery efforts as we head throughout the weekend.
