00:26Gaurav, your assumption is that spirituality or religion is anti-logic or illogical.
00:41From where are you getting it?
00:44I am not blaming you for asking this question. I am just alarmed.
00:50There is some source in your life from where you get a clear idea that spirituality and logic do not go together.
01:06Spirituality is the very zenith of logic, Gaurav.
01:13Spirituality and logic go hand in hand.
01:19It's just that spirituality is so deeply logical that a point comes when logic cannot keep up with it.
01:28So spirituality and logic go hand in hand and at some point logic gets tired and falls down and spirituality still keeps going.
01:37Then you say that spirituality has surpassed logic or transcended logic.
01:43But in surpassing logic, spirituality never becomes illogical or anti-logical.
01:50There is nothing in spirituality that will be against logic.
01:55It can be beyond logic, alright, but never against logic.
02:01Now from where are you getting these ideas?
02:04Surely you are influenced by people who talk of spirituality or mysticism in the most illogical ways
02:22or they present illogical assertions, arguments or conclusions in the name of spirituality.
02:33Sometimes we say there is a lot of pseudoscience being floated in the name of spirituality.
02:41That is not even pseudoscience.
02:44To call it pseudoscience is an affront to science.
02:48It is out and out, 100% pure superstition.
02:51But the problem is when you have powerful forces that are selling pseudoscience rather superstition as spirituality,
03:05then the common man gets a very strong and clear message that spirituality means some nonsensical mumbo-jumbo.
03:14And therefore the relation between spirituality and logic gets badly snapped.
03:22In front of you is someone who has been accepted by you as a spiritual figure whereas he does not deserve to be called spiritual in any sense.
03:35Now this fellow is saying I will raise the dead.
03:38This fellow is talking of all kinds of things occult.
03:41Or you are reading a book that mentions that one fellow is here and the next moment he is in London or he is in London and Calcutta simultaneously.
03:53And this has been touted as great spiritual literature.
03:59So obviously you get the impression that spirituality is not only anti-logic but also against the laws of science.
04:07Somebody is saying water has memory.
04:14Somebody is saying that using Rudraksha you can figure out whether food is contaminated or not.
04:21Things will start happening.
04:23And you do not question these things.
04:25You do not ever apply your intelligence to these things.
04:29You don't even ask a counter question.
04:34You can be pardoned because usually when all such nonsense is being propagated, counter questions are not even allowed.
04:42Lab experiments are not even allowed.
04:46Because the moment an experiment is conducted in an honest environment in a laboratory, the truth will be out.
04:52The God-man will be exposed.
04:55So why will he ever allow any kind of experiment to take place?
04:59So much about the God-man.
05:07I don't want to talk about such God-man too much.
05:10I want to talk about you.
05:12Why did you first of all accept their nonsensical talk as spirituality?
05:20Do you see the clear happening?
05:22Because you accepted that what they are talking is spirituality, therefore now you feel that spirituality has to be devoid of logic.
05:33Are you getting it?
05:35This is how your mind is functioning.
05:38First of all, you take some fellow as spiritual.
05:44And why have you accepted that fellow or a number of such fellows as spiritual?
05:48Those fellows might be alive or dead.
05:50Those fellows might just be author of a particular book.
05:54That fellow might be a very very big historical name belonging to the last century.
06:00Doesn't matter who that person is.
06:03Alive or dead.
06:05Author or wizard.
06:09God-man or con-man.
06:13Doesn't matter.
06:14But you have allowed some person to occupy a position that he does not deserve.
06:22And you are saying this fellow is spiritual.
06:26So that is your spirituality now.
06:28Because you have clearly mapped the word spiritual with that kind of a person.
06:35Now what does that person do?
06:36That person talks rubbish of the hyperlative order.
06:46But that person is spiritual without a doubt in your eyes.
06:53So all that rubbish again becomes spiritual.
06:57You see that person has been accepted by you as.
07:01So his rubbish takes the name of spirituality.
07:06So now that is spirituality in your eyes.
07:09Rubbish. Illogical, unscientific, mindless, cunning rubbish.
07:17That is your spirituality.
07:20So when you come across somebody like me who is not talking illogical stuff.
07:25Then you are surprised.
07:27Then you say, oh how is it possible that you are in the domain of religion and spirituality.
07:36And it really saddens me.
07:40That religion and spirituality have become dirty words now.
07:45Religion and spirituality have become words not at all associated with logic anymore.
07:51It really saddens me.
07:56Are you getting it?
07:59If you are really logical, you will turn spiritual.
08:03You have no option.
08:07Spirituality is the natural destiny of logic.
08:16All logic concerns things outside of you.
08:22Ultimately if logic is honest, it will have to turn towards the logician.
08:29Logic will need to ask, who is the one applying the logic?
08:36Who is the one coming up with the arguments?
08:38Because the arguments cannot be understood without understanding the arguer.
08:45A point comes when you clearly see that.
08:48When you see that, then you realize that logic has reached its highest flowering,
08:55its utmost potential.
08:58That's the utmost potential of logic.
09:00It will bring you to spirituality.
09:02And spirituality is not a cult.
09:04Spirituality is not at all, all this that you are seeing all around you.
09:08Spirituality is not this godman business.
09:12Spirituality is not this jadutona and all kinds of foolish stuff.
09:18And remember that a really spiritual man can never, never contradict science.
09:27Really spiritual men actually went along very nicely with scientists.
09:35They never had a bone to pick against scientists.
09:39You look at Krishnamurthy's conversations with David Bohm for example.
