00:00President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. has been productive all week.
00:04Let's find out what his activities are, in the words of Kenes Paciente.
00:12President Ferdinand R. Marquez Jr. started his week by accepting Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister
00:18and Minister for Rural and Regional Development, Dr. Ahmad Zahid Bin Hamidi,
00:22in his courtesy call in Malacanang.
00:25In the form of assistance, the cooperation of the two countries became stronger
00:28when it comes to disaster response and education,
00:32particularly in Technical and Vocational Education and Training or TVET.
00:36In a phone call, President R. Marquez Jr. and UAE President Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed
00:42where the President expressed his gratitude for the pardon given by the Emirati government
00:47to the 143 Filipinos.
00:50The President also recognized the humanitarian efforts of the UAE,
00:53especially in places affected by storms and floods.
00:57Last night, the Executive Board held a ministerial dinner for the delegates
01:02of the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction or APMCDRR.
01:08Here, he brought the goal of the Philippines to strive to reduce disaster risks,
01:14especially since the country is affected by the effects of climate change.
01:19On Tuesday, the President attended the opening ceremony of APMCDRR
01:23where the President called for a safe, inclusive, and more inclusive response to the effects of the disaster.
01:29The Sendai Framework, an international document for risk reduction,
01:33is also currently being implemented,
01:36which aims to strengthen the resilience of the countries
01:39as well as strengthen investment in climate financing.
01:44On Wednesday, the President held the 2023 Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award
01:49where the contribution of private sectors for the protection of the environment
01:54as well as their role in community development and economic growth.
01:58There are 17 awards this year
02:00from the Surface Mining Operations, Quarry Operations, and Mineral Processing categories.
02:05The Executive Board also announced
02:08that the two major projects of the government have been approved
02:11in the 21st NEDA Board Meeting.
02:14Phase 1 of the Health System Resilience Project,
02:17which is worth P27.92 billion,
02:21will strengthen the health emergency in the country,
02:23as well as preparedness and response,
02:25especially in areas affected by diseases.
02:28The Mindanao Transport Connectivity Improvement Project of the DPWH,
02:33which will improve the transport network in Mindanao,
02:37and accelerate the transport of agricultural goods to remote areas.
02:42On Thursday, the President held the inauguration of Sorsogon Sports Arena,
02:46which will pave the way for the strengthening of the abilities of Filipino athletes.
02:50The President also confirmed the efforts of the government
02:53to further assist in the development of the province
02:56through the implementation of initiatives,
02:59especially in infrastructure projects.
03:02The Executive Board also visited the Sampaloc Tenement,
03:05a housing project for informal settlers in the province.
03:08The Sorsogon National Government Center,
03:11a one-stop-shop to make the government's services accessible to the public.
03:17On Friday, the President formally passed the Academic Recovery and Accessible Learning Program Act
03:22which will address the learning gaps in the country.
03:25The law prohibits the implementation of the National Learning Intervention Program
03:29designed to help students
03:32who have difficulty meeting the requirements for their education.
03:37The President emphasized that this is just one of the steps of the government
03:41to advance the rights of every student in the quality of education.
03:46The President also visited the Manila Fame 2024 Exhibit
03:49where he exhibited the Filipino design and art, which he described as world-class.
03:54The President is confident in the skills of Filipinos in the design industry.
03:58He is sure that Filipinos will be recognized in the international market.
