00:0010 years of a festival that is in the squares, that tries to meet people, are a great result.
00:12A result of presence, of help and rapprochement to the statistical knowledge,
00:20for the commitment and thanks to the commitment of the National Institute of Statistics
00:24and the scientific societies that organize this event with us.
00:29Arriving at the tenth year means having involved institutions,
00:33having involved the Academy, having involved schools
00:37and a goal of growth, of training, of knowledge,
00:42which today also becomes a national event,
00:47because the whole country looks at Treviso,
00:50just as the whole country looks at the data that the official statistics bring to know the reality
00:57and to make the most informed decisions possible.
01:01One of the realities that are addressed is sport.
01:05What is the correlation between statistics and sport?
01:09Well, this is one of the issues on which the Institute is concentrating particularly this year and in these months.
01:17Not only for the initiative established with the Ministry of Sport
01:22to launch the first satellite account of sport,
01:25which is a way to read the impact on the economy that the whole world of sport has,
01:31starting from the sport practiced, and therefore the equipment, sports associations,
01:37but also those who watch sport, those who bet.
01:40This is the world of jobs that surround sport as an economic movement.
01:48But we are also in a reality in which sport has entered into the Constitution
01:53as one of the fundamental principles to look at.
01:57Here, in this, the official statistics try to tell how this world of sport has changed.
02:04It has been doing so since before the 1960s, when the main sport was hunting in our country,
02:10and it analyzes it, telling instead how much sport has changed,
02:14as a tool for overcoming inequalities.
02:18This is one of the panels that Treviso has addressed,
02:22which can be found on the Festival's YouTube channel.
