00:00What's up guys, today we will be comparing the Note 10 Plus to the Poco F3.
00:06So if you're in the market for a new smartphone, you could go the old flagship route.
00:10Let me have a wipe down on this.
00:13You could go the old flagship route or you could go with a kind of newer mid-ranger.
00:18It's not that new.
00:19It came out last year, but still, I think one of the best mid-rangers you can get these
00:24days.
00:25All right, so let's go ahead and dive into it.
00:27I want to start off with the hardware.
00:29So there are some differences with the hardware.
00:31So on the Note 10 Plus, it is a full premium design.
00:35So it's got a glass and metal design.
00:38It's IP68 dust and water resistant as well too.
00:42And I think it still looks really nice, really modern, even in 2022.
00:46The Poco F3 does look really great as well too.
00:49I love the camera module setup on here as well.
00:53And I love the glass back.
00:55It does have that nice texture to it, soft texture to it.
00:59It doesn't pick up fingerprints as well too, which is really nice.
01:02But the Poco F3 does not have metal railings.
01:06This is actually plastic.
01:07So only the glass, you get that premium material for the back, but it still has that kind of
01:14plastic feeling.
01:15It still feels really good though, but the Note 10 Plus I think still has that more premium
01:18feeling.
01:19Another difference with the hardware is definitely the built-in stylus on the Note.
01:27So if you're somebody that is into digital artwork or you like to navigate with your
01:32phone using a stylus, this is really great for you.
01:36Yeah, it's just a great experience.
01:39So definitely keep that into consideration.
01:41Samsung throws in a ton of software features as well too for you to take advantage of.
01:46Both these phones have stereo speakers, which we will compare as well too.
01:51So for hardware, I think they're both two pretty good looking phones, but like I said,
01:55the Poco, it does not have that premium feel as far as the railings and the IP53 dust and
02:02splash proof.
02:03It's not IP68.
02:05So that is also one thing to take into consideration.
02:08All right, so the display matchup is a pretty interesting one.
02:11So we have two fantastic displays here.
02:14So with the Poco, we do have on here a AMOLED display.
02:18It's 120 hertz.
02:20It's HDR10.
02:21It gets 1300 nits peak brightness at 6.67 inches.
02:25It's 1080p, 395 for the PPI.
02:29The Note10+, it has a dynamic AMOLED display.
02:31It's HDR10+, at 6.8 inches.
02:35But this one has a 1440p display and 498 for the PPI.
02:39So it has a much higher PPI and a higher resolution as well too.
02:43So you can watch 2K content on the Note.
02:48So obviously the thing here is that do you want the 120 hertz display or do you want
02:55the 1440p display on the Note?
02:59So that's something that you kind of have to see.
03:02As far as me, I really like the 120 hertz, but I really like the design on the Note10+,
03:08as well too.
03:09I do like the curved screen as opposed to the flat screen.
03:14And also the Poco has a little bit more bezel as well too.
03:17If you guys can see that.
03:19So I just think that Note screen just looks really good.
03:22But like I said, that 120 hertz is just buttery smooth on the Poco.
03:25So it really comes down to that.
03:27Do you want that 1440p or do you want the 120 hertz?
03:31But they're both really great displays either way.
03:34You could really say it was a tie, but it just comes down to personal preference.
03:37All right, so let's talk about the specs a little bit more here.
03:40On the Poco, we do have the Snapdragon 870 processor on here running Android 11, MIUI
03:4812.5.
03:49And then we also have Adreno 650 GPU.
03:52The Poco does not have any SD card support.
03:54This is the 256, 8 gigabyte model here.
03:58And on the Note, we are running Android 12 and we do have One UI 4.1 on this phone as
04:05well too.
04:07And then it has the Snapdragon 855 on here and Adreno 640.
04:11But the Note 10 Plus does have SD card support as well and it actually has more RAM.
04:17So this is a 256, 12 gigabyte version.
04:19So that is the base storage actually as well too.
04:22So as you can see, the Poco will beat out the Note as far as these Geekbench scores
04:27go.
04:28For sure here it just has the stronger, as you can see, chipset.
04:33Now as far as how do these devices feel just bouncing in and out of applications and stuff
04:39like that, they both feel really great.
04:42Really fast phones, honestly.
04:45So you can't really say that the Note 10 Plus is slow by any means because it's really not
04:50at all, actually.
04:51You guys can see.
04:52Getting to a quick little boot up test here, a little app launch test.
04:59You can see, boom.
05:00So it's really like right behind it.
05:03One thing that I like to pay attention to when we talk about speed, I like to make sure
05:07that the devices are not like, I'm not getting animation stutters and stuff like that.
05:12And both of these devices seem to do a pretty good job with just bouncing in and out of
05:16applications, being able to give you a smooth experience without lagging all over the place
05:22and getting animation stutters and stuff like that like crazy.
05:26So they both are very fast for that.
05:28And also, both these phones make for an excellent gaming experience as well, too.
05:34So definitely take that into consideration.
05:36So if you do want to buy one of these phones, yes, the Poco is the more powerful phone.
05:42So for games that are super demanding like that Genshin Impact game, yeah, it might do
05:47better than the Note in the long term.
05:51But as far as like right now, they both pretty much play at the same settings for the most
05:55part.
05:57They can both play at high settings for most games.
06:00So you guys can see in PUBG, both these phones are able to play at HDR Extreme, basically
06:06the same settings.
06:08And they both do a really good job as far as, you know, being able to play games.
06:14I will drop a full gaming test for the Poco, but it's pretty much the same for the Note
06:20as well, too.
06:21You can see it just does a fantastic job at gaming.
06:25And it's also able to play at the same settings.
06:26So you really can't go wrong as far as a gaming phone with both of these phones.
06:30Alright, let's check out some additional features, starting with the stereo speakers on here.
06:38Let's see which one sounds better.
06:55Yeah, the Note definitely sounds better.
07:04It's louder and a little bit more crisp.
07:09Yeah, the Poco doesn't hit as hard as the Note.
07:17It definitely has just better bass.
07:19This is an overall better speaker.
07:20You can kind of notice it right off the bat here.
07:23Also, let's go ahead and talk about the additional features.
07:26So both these phones have NFC.
07:29The Poco does have an IR blaster, which I think is very underrated.
07:33A lot of people don't care about it, but I like to use it as a universal remote for all
07:39the TVs in my house and stuff like that.
07:41I think it's a really nice addition so you don't have to have a ton of remotes.
07:45You lose remotes all the time, batteries run out.
07:48It's really nice to have an IR blaster, something that the Note does lack here.
07:53Also, as far as getting into the phone, they both have pretty solid methods.
07:57I think I like the Poco's method a little bit more.
08:01I've always been a fan of the fingerprint scanner and the power button.
08:05It just feels more natural and it feels a little bit more instant.
08:09Also, under the display fingerprint sensor works great on the Galaxy Note.
08:15So they both work really well, so really no complaints there.
08:18You can obviously face unlock as well too.
08:21Alright, so I do want to talk about the image quality on both of these phones.
08:25We are going to check out some side-by-side stills.
08:28So let me know which camera do you guys think looked better.
08:32So the specs on the Poco, it does have a triple camera setup and it does have a 48 megapixel
08:38standard and 8 megapixel ultra-wide and then a 5 megapixel macro.
08:42It can only shoot in 4K30 though, and then you have a 20 megapixel selfie cam that shoots
08:46in 1080p60.
08:48The Galaxy Note, it does have technically a quad camera setup.
08:51It's a 12 megapixel standard, a 12 megapixel telephoto, 2x optical, and then a 16 megapixel
08:57ultra-wide.
08:58And then you have a 0.3 depth sensor on this phone as well too.
09:02You can shoot in 4K60 on the front and back with a 10 megapixel selfie.
09:06So let me know what you guys thought of the images.
09:49The Poco.
10:10Note.
10:18Poco.
10:32Alright, so lastly, the battery situation.
10:34Which phone has better battery life?
10:36They actually are both kind of on par with battery life.
10:40So the Note, it does have a smaller, slightly smaller battery.
10:45It's a 4,300 milliamp battery.
10:47It does have 45-watt fast charging as well too, as opposed to the 33-watt in here.
10:53And this phone does have wireless charging and reverse wireless charging, which the Poco
10:57lacks both of those features.
10:59So the Poco does have a slightly bigger battery at 4,520 milliamps, but I'm assuming because
11:06of the 120 hertz, if you leave it on, it drains about the same.
11:10Maybe if you put it at 60 hertz, it'll get better battery life than the Note.
11:14But right now, they're both, you can both squeeze a full day out of these phones pretty
11:17easy.
11:18Alright, so yeah, I think the battery situation is just better on the Note.
11:22It charges faster and you have wireless charging and reverse wireless charging.
11:26So I definitely prefer that experience over the, you know, just not having it.
11:32Alright, so which phone did you guys think was better here?
11:35Would you prefer the older flagship with the Note?
11:38I know that the Note is currently in its security patch stages.
11:41It won't get Android 13.
11:43It just will get Android 13 and then I think it'll get like three years of security patches.
11:48The Note, it'll get those three years and then that's it.
11:51You have a lot going on.
11:52You have the stylus, you have the really nice display on the Note.
11:56Still a pretty fast chip, good, you know, cameras.
12:00But the Poco also has a lot of those things too.
12:02Great battery life, 120 hertz, really nice screen on here.
12:07Really really strong chipset on here as well.
12:11So let me know.
12:12What do you guys think?
12:13Be sure to let me know and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
