00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be talking about the iPhone 14 Pro.
00:03It's been about 30 days since we got this phone.
00:05We got it at the initial launch and guys, I want to go over my thoughts on this phone.
00:12Everything that's good, everything that's bad.
00:14So before we do that, I want to talk about the cases that I've been using.
00:18So you guys probably seen the card video that I got for this.
00:21They sent over some more cases and these are just some of my favorite cases.
00:25So beautiful.
00:26I've been using this with the 14 Pro and she sent over a couple cool ones, other cool ones
00:31as well too.
00:32And I'll have that link down below and these are real wood cases and they just have these
00:36really beautiful designs.
00:38So many designs.
00:39They also make them for Android and they do accessories like knives, MagSafe, wireless
00:44chargers, all that good stuff.
00:45And these are just some beautiful cases that I've been using.
00:48Yes, I had asked them to send it over because I was using this thing but it was just making
00:52my hand hurt.
00:53It was really bulky and it was really hard to get the phone out.
00:57These feel really good, have a really good grip, button cutouts are good, good raise.
01:02But also they're really easy to get out because you guys know if you're going to be swapping
01:05cases a lot, you don't want to struggle with it.
01:07But yeah, I absolutely love this company and these cases are just excellent.

01:16But let's get back to the iPhone 14 Pro here.
01:20So that was one of my main things is sometimes I'll rock a phone without a case.
01:25This phone, I had to have a case on it and the same with the 13 Pro.
01:29These are not the most comfortable phones like with the iPhone 11 and stuff like that
01:33where the edges were more smooth so they fit in the palms smoother.
01:40This phone here, like I said, not as comfortable as that because it's got the more sharper
01:45edges so it kind of cuts into the hand a bit.
01:49So I definitely got a case in that that solved that issue for me.
01:52But I do like the design of this phone as well too.
01:56It still looks good.
01:57It's a glass and metal phone.
01:58It looks exactly like the 13 Pro here with slightly bigger camera bumps on here as well.
02:02So the design is pretty much still the same if you're coming from a newer iPhone.
02:07Now I wanted to first start off with battery life, right?
02:11Battery life on this phone is not supernaturally amazing like with the 13 Pro.
02:17I think you've heard a lot of people say that and I agree.
02:20Battery life is not as good.
02:21Now it could be the always-on display or it just could be iOS 16.
02:26It's just not as efficient as iOS 15 with the 13 Pro launch.
02:31With the 13 Pro launch, you could notice it was crazy good battery life.
02:35But with this phone, the battery life is just kind of like, it's good.
02:39It's definitely all-day battery life but it's nowhere near like that crazy supernatural battery
02:44life I was getting on the 13 Pro when that phone initially dropped here.
02:48But like I said, it could be several factors, iOS 16, it could be the always-on display,
02:53you know, it could be any of those things.
02:55But battery life is still good on this phone and also this phone does have a much brighter
02:59display as well too.
03:01It's got a full 1080p plus, 2000 nits peak brightness.
03:08It's the XDR Retina OLED display.
03:11Basically the same display, you know, that we've known and loved from the 13 Pro.
03:14You got 120 hertz on here, the display looks absolutely beautiful on here.
03:19So if you guys are watching video now, you will notice that there is a new, what they
03:26call dynamic island.
03:29So it's not as intrusive as the notch on the 13 Pro for sure here.
03:36So when you're watching content, it is a little bit more immersive because you get a little
03:39bit more pixels back, it doesn't take up space as much.
03:43So watching content on here, I would say it's much better, it looks more futuristic, it
03:47doesn't look as dated as the, you know, the notch.
03:52So I do like the new display bump, just it being 2000 nits peak brightness, it's crazy
03:57bright outdoors, and I mean ridiculously bright outdoors.
04:01And the dynamic island, so let's talk about this, has it been useful, right?
04:05Like, do I find myself using it?
04:07It is actually pretty useful, so I will give Apple that.
04:10I thought Apple was just going to do a plain little cutout, but when they introduced like
04:14this was going to be like functioning software, like you will see it animating and stuff like
04:19that, because it does, it does a lot of animating as you guys can see there, let me show you.
04:23Like doing stuff like that, putting it on the charger, it moves, and that could also
04:29be probably a reason why a little bit of hidden battery life, because this phone, it does
04:33a lot of animating with that dynamic island stuff.
04:37And also when you're playing music on your phone, that's the main thing that you will
04:41see, you will just see your music playing in the background.
04:43So if you're in your studies and stuff like that, you just click it, pause, and also like
04:47let's say if I have my music playing in the background, and I also put the clock right
04:51here, then I have dual right there.
04:56Like I said, so I think it's a good idea, I definitely think it helps with multitasking.
05:01I think that Apple still needs actual real multitasking or split screen multitasking
05:05or something like that.
05:06I don't think it's going to become an iOS 17, it's looking like it will.
05:09Also I want to go over performance with this phone, so how is this phone performance wise?
05:14With the Apple A16 chip, we have 128 gigs of internal storage, 6 gigs of RAM.
05:18This thing has been flying, it's really been just super fast performance wise.
05:23If you are a gamer, this phone, it literally will play anything you throw at it.
05:28So if you're somebody that plays Genshin Impact, PUBG, Call of Duty Mobile, basically whatever
05:34in the App Store, it will be able to play no problem.
05:38So you can see on PUBG, this is easily holding 60 frames.
05:41There should be a 90 frames option soon, it was on the 13 Pro, but they took it away where
05:46it's not optimized for this chip yet.
05:48But yeah, as far as performance, I didn't really notice too much of a difference from
05:52the 13 Pro.
05:53Honestly, you're not going to notice a big difference from the newer iPhones.
05:56I would say iPhone 12 and up, like 12, 13, I would say even the 11 for casual use, you're
06:03not going to notice a big difference because Apple, their software or their chip to hardware
06:08optimization is just, you know, it's next level.
06:12That's why you're going to get these crazy scores, you're going to get this really good
06:14performance when it comes to benchmarks and stuff like that.
06:17So this makes for an excellent gamey phone, it's just been phenomenal here.
06:22And again, with the dynamic island, you're able to get those pixels back a little bit,
06:25so gaming does look a little bit better this year.
06:29So as far as like gaming performance and overall speed and this phone really not having
06:36bugs and stuff like that, to me it's just been a very smooth experience.
06:40I haven't had crashing and glitching and stuff like that.
06:43It's been very, very buttery smooth here.
06:46Now let's talk about the cameras on the 14 Pro.
06:49You have a 48 megapixel sensor on here, so that's new and you can take advantage of that
06:54full resolution with the ProRAW.
06:56And you have a 12 megapixel telephoto lens, it does 3x optical zoom, you have a 12 megapixel
07:01ultra-wide on here, it has 4K 60 on the front and back, with a 12 megapixel selfie cam on
07:06here as well too.
07:08The cameras or the photos that this phone take, they are still pretty good, obviously
07:13they're flagship level photos, so they're going to look great, great detail, just everything
07:19about the photos is basically what you would expect to be good.
07:22Now one of the issues that I have with iPhones is the software in the camera.
07:27So when I'm trying to hit it like an object, when I'm trying to get an object close up,
07:31it does, it switches lens, right?
07:33And then it gives me like a worse photo, so it doesn't let me take it from the main lens
07:38and Apple needs to fix that.
07:40So instead of me, instead of it switching lenses by itself, I want to be able to switch
07:44the lens manually, right?
07:46Where I want to have that option to switch manually.
07:48I don't want them to switch it because it'll take a worse photo, in my opinion, especially
07:52when you're trying to get like close up subjects and stuff like that.
07:55So that's something that I do not like about the camera software at all.
07:58You're able to switch it on Samsung, you're able to switch it on the Pixel and stuff like
08:02that.
08:03I don't know why you can't switch it on here.
08:04If you can, let me know because I've checked the settings, it's very annoying.
08:08Besides that, image quality is top notch.
08:11This phone is obviously going to give you photos that you absolutely love, great dynamic
08:15range.
08:16The ultra wide is extremely consistent with the main lens, the telephoto lens.
08:20It only does 3X, it is pretty good at 3X, so you get a good amount of detail and stuff
08:25like that.
08:26iPhone video, also excellent on here.
08:28I think it's very consistent with the lenses as well too.
08:32So the ultra wide is really good and then the zooming capability on here is also really
08:37good.
08:38So I think the iPhone has always been really good at taking video, in my opinion.
08:42I've always loved iPhone video.
08:44Sometimes the color can be a little bit off, so typically I'll try to film on my S22 Ultra
08:48sometimes if I'm trying to film on a TikTok or something like that.
08:52But in general, I think this is just a great camera phone for most people.
08:56It takes excellent photos in any condition really.
09:01One of my favorite things about this phone is that this thing has some really good quality
09:04speakers.
09:05I think the only phone that was able to kind of beat it was my Pixel 6 and 7 Pro.
09:11I prefer it over that.
09:12I have like, maybe the Zenfone.
09:15I have a few phones, but this is like a top-notch speaker here.
09:29Just super strong top speaker on here.
09:35Great bass quality.
09:36It's just a very full-sounding speakers on here, which is something that I absolutely
09:41love.
09:42The iPhone, 30 days later, it's been a good experience.
09:45I haven't had really issues software-wise.
09:46Like I said, the only sort of downside with this phone, probably battery life isn't as
09:51good as I think a lot of people were expecting it to be, but it's definitely not bad at all.
09:57I think the battery life is pretty standard.
10:01That's pretty much it, guys.
10:03I really enjoyed the phone.
10:04The Dynamic Island is pretty cool.
10:06Like I said, it's not a necessary thing if you have an older phone, like a 13, 12, or
10:11something like that.
10:12It's not really necessary, but it is a very cool, quick way of switching applications.
10:16But overall, it's a very well-rounded phone.
10:18It's a very, I would say, decent update, especially.
