00:00What's up guys, today we will be comparing the iPhone X to the iPhone 14 Pro.
00:07Let's go ahead and see are these upgrades enough to make you want to upgrade.
00:12So let's actually start off with the price, the 14 Pro, $1000.
00:17The iPhone X is actually going for around $200, actually I'll have that linked down
00:22below.
00:23I have a ton of videos on the X if you guys want to check that out.
00:26So basically the first thing you'll notice with the hardware is that the iPhone X is
00:29much lighter than the 14 Pro and then also it's just easier to handle because of the
00:36smoother edges compared to the more boxy sharper edges on the 14.
00:41Also you will notice a matte finish on the 14 Pro and then you can have a more glossy
00:47finish.
00:48I still think the X and XS actually are some of my favorite designs, they just have this
00:52really classy look to them.
00:55But the next thing that will stand out with the hardware is obviously this big camera
00:59module on the 14 Pro versus the X, it's just massive.
01:04And you also get that extra camera on here as well too, which we will talk about a little
01:08bit later.
01:09Alright guys, so the next thing to stand out is the display here.
01:12So you do have a display upgrade.
01:15With the iPhone 14 Pro it is a 6.1 inch display, it's LTPO, Super Retina XDR OLED, 120Hz HDR10.
01:25Obviously one of the brightest displays you can get at 2000 nits peak brightness, so extremely
01:28bright outdoors.
01:30And it is a 1179 x 2556 resolution, 460 for the PPI.
01:36The X has a slightly smaller display at 5.8 inches, it's also a Retina OLED but it does
01:43lack the 120Hz and it is 1125 x 2436, 458 for the PPI with a max brightness up to 56.
01:52So as you guys can see, you will get a slight upgrade when it comes to the display and mostly
01:56you'll notice it with the 120Hz and also you will see that you now get a punch hole or
02:03a cut out instead of the notch as well.
02:08So you guys can see that.
02:09So it is, I guess, less intrusive on content, the punch hole, so it just depends on if you
02:15like it or not.
02:17But definitely I think the biggest differences with the display, honestly, is the 120Hz,
02:22it does feel a little bit more smoother when you're scrolling and swiping.
02:26And then also the punch hole just makes it look a little bit more, you know, up to date.
02:35And then also the 2000 nits peak brightness, definitely you'll notice that outdoors.
02:40But as far as the screen quality itself, the iPhone X still has very good screen quality,
02:45they almost look kind of identical in terms of, you know, color and overall sharpness
02:50and stuff like that.
02:51So I'm not really seeing a big difference when it comes to, you know, just looking at
02:55the icons and everything, they pretty much still look on par with each other in my opinion.
03:00It's just this display is brighter, it's 120Hz and it has the new, you know, peel chip cut
03:05out.
03:06Alright guys, so here are the Geekbench scores on these two devices.
03:09So you can see you get a pretty good upgrade when it comes to the single core and the multi-core
03:14score.
03:15Now both of these are updated to iOS 16 as well.
03:20This should be updated to iOS 16.
03:23Yeah, it's updated to iOS 16.
03:27So they both run pretty well.
03:29Now you will notice a speed difference slightly with the 14 Pro.
03:33So the 14 Pro has the Apple A16 chip and it also has 128GB of internal storage and 6GB
03:40of RAM.
03:41And then on the iPhone X we do have the Apple A11 chip, 64GB of internal storage and 3GB
03:48of RAM.
03:49So just launching our, you know, applications here, let's do YouTube, you can see very fast,
03:59but pretty much still on, the 11 is still, not the 11, but the X is still on par, boom.
04:10Now that was pretty quick, that was kind of a bigger gap there when it comes to like
04:16launching games and stuff like that.
04:18But again, is a second or two difference a big deal?
04:23Let's go ahead and try, so you guys can see, not too much of a difference there.
04:37Let's go ahead and try PUBG.
04:40Now gaming experience will be a pretty nice upgrade in my opinion.
04:44I think this is where a lot of that power starts to show itself.
04:48So when you start to play, you know, demanding games like PUBG, you can play at higher settings,
04:53at higher frame rates, and also games that are just more demanding in general will work
04:58better like Genshin Impact.
04:59So if you are somewhat of a, you know, gamer on your phone, and you more, you know, than
05:05a casual gamer, then you will definitely like having this extra power.
05:13So just to show you guys, these are the settings you will play at PUBG, and just in general
05:19with basically any game, Genshin, it doesn't matter, HDR Extreme, you can see, it's going
05:24to play really well.
05:25Now, comparing it to the iPhone X here, get out of these cut scenes, you will get your
05:46high settings are HDR Ultra, which is not bad, but it's not, you know, it's not 60 frames.
05:52So you can see that sort of difference there in terms of power, you will get better graphics
05:58and overall more consistent frame rates with the 14 Pro.
06:04But if you're not a gamer like that, then the iPhone X is still pretty good for gaming.
06:10It works just fine.
06:11It's not a slow gaming phone at all.
06:14Alright guys, let's go ahead and check out the speakers and see which one is louder.
06:45So while both speakers are pretty good, the 14 Pro does have a louder and the bass just
06:51hits a little bit harder.
06:52So it is a speaker upgrade here for sure.
07:01Yeah, it just makes the sound sound a little bit more fuller.
07:05So definitely you are getting a speaker upgrade.
07:08Both these phones have IP ratings, so they can get wet.
07:11They both have NFC with the Apple Pay.
07:14They both have Face ID, which honestly works the same.
07:19One doesn't feel faster than the other, in my opinion.
07:22Yeah, they still feel pretty much on par with each other.
07:25Alright, so let's go ahead and talk about the cameras.
07:27So I'll show you guys the side-by-side still so you guys can see, but let's talk about
07:31the specs first.
07:32So the 13 Pro, it does have the new 48 megapixel standard, a 12 megapixel telephoto with 3x
07:38optical zoom, and then you also have a 12 megapixel ultra-wide.
07:42It can shoot in 4K60, and then a 12 megapixel selfie cam on here that is also new that can
07:47shoot in 4K60 as well, too.
07:50And you also have some modes on here that you don't have on the X, like the cinematic
07:54mode.
07:55It is on the front as well, too, which is really nice.
07:59The iPhone X, it does have the dual camera setup here.
08:03It's a 12 megapixel standard, and then you have a 12 megapixel telephoto lens that does
08:082x.
08:09It can also shoot in 4K60, and then a 7 megapixel selfie that can shoot in 1080p30.
08:14And again, you're lacking the cinematic mode.
08:18You're also lacking a ultra-wide and a macro camera on the X.
08:23So which cameras still do you guys think?
