00:00What's up, guys? Today we've got another request, the S20 FE versus the iPhone 14.
00:06And honestly, if I have a S20 FE, guys, I would honestly consider keeping my S20 FE for
00:13a few more years because it actually has a few advantages over the 14 Pro. But let's go ahead
00:19and get into it anyway here. There are definitely some pros with the iPhone 14 Pro that you might
00:25like. If you do want to see a comparison, put it down below. If I have the phone, then of course,
00:31I'll do it. 14 Pro, $1,000. S20 FE, these days, going for around $300-ish, right? It's an older
00:40flagship phone. And you can see, slightly bigger than the 14. Definitely weighs less as well, too.
00:47As well, we've got plastic on the back with a metal frame. And then we have a full metal and
00:54glass design on the iPhone. Matte finish. Also matte finish on here, too. Well, you know, plastic,
00:59whatever. It's not glossy plastic. But yeah, so the biggest hardware difference with these two
01:06phones is actually that the S20 FE still has SD card support, which is really nice. So you
01:12automatically just have more storage with this phone regardless of the configuration, which is
01:17definitely something really awesome. But both phones have a nice design. But I think the iPhone
01:20definitely looks a little bit better here. All right, so let's talk about the displays. The S20
01:26FE does have the Super AMOLED 120Hz display. It's HDR10+. And then it is 1080p 407. And then the
01:34iPhone has the LTPO XDR OLED display. It's also 120Hz. It's also HDR10. And then it's 6.1 inches.
01:42And then it has a 1080p plus resolution as well, 2460 for the PPI. I still think the viewing
01:47experience on the S20 FE is just better because we've just simply got a smaller punch hole. So
01:53when you're playing games or watching YouTube videos or whatever in full screen, it doesn't
01:58take up as much space or it's not as distracting. Now, Apple does have this new dynamic island where
02:04it does, you know, it's very animated. And basically, it's like a little multitasking
02:08button. But when it comes down to just overall, you know, just watching content, I still think
02:13the S20 FE is better. Where the iPhone does kind of beat the S20 FE is with screen brightness. It's
02:20very bright outdoors. 2,000 nits peak brightness for the iPhone. So one of the brightest phones
02:25you can get. And so it is going to do a little bit better outdoors. But the S20 FE does just fine
02:31in direct sunlight as well too. Again, not as good though. But definitely, it really depends
02:38if you really want that bright display. But I think overall, since they both have 120Hz,
02:44the punch hole just looks better to me than the dynamic island in my opinion.
02:48Alright, so the specs on these two phones. So obviously, the iPhone is going to have a faster
02:56processor. But the processor on the S20 FE is actually very good here. So I'm going to show
03:02you guys some Geekbench scores here so you can get an idea of what we're working with. And we are
03:07on Android 12 on the S20. And then the Snapdragon 865 chip on this one, we do have micro SD card
03:14support, 128 gigs of internal storage, 6 gigs of RAM on this version. iPhone, Apple A16, 128,
03:20and also 6 gigs of RAM on here. So you can see you're going to get a much better score on the
03:25iPhone. So probably games that are super intense, like Genshin Impact, it'll probably play better
03:31on the iPhone. But in general, performance is still going to be pretty much on par. Both these
03:36phones are going to give you flagship quality performance here. When it comes to just scrolling,
03:41swiping, multitasking, they're pretty much going to be on par with each other. They're very fast
03:46in terms of speed here. As you guys can see, the S20 FE is able to keep up with the iPhone.
03:52Hold on, let's go ahead and relaunch that. Go ahead and relaunch that. You guys can sort of see
04:00the iPhone, S20 FE. So it's not too far behind it, right? And they both are very speedy when it
04:10comes to performance. As far as the gaming experience goes on both of these phones, guys,
04:15they both play PUBG. So I would say for casual gamer, you're not going to notice a difference,
04:20right? Because they both play PUBG at the same settings. They both play Call of Duty at the same
04:23settings. This is able to handle Fortnite really well too. Fortnite, I wonder when it's coming back
04:29to the App Store. I would love to test it out with some of their iPhones. But yeah, as you guys
04:35can see there, the S20 FE is able to keep up with the iPhone there in terms of just opening large
04:44games and overall graphic performance. You can see on the 14 Pro, we were able to get HDR Extreme.
04:55So it's able to hold that 60 frames really smoothly. And it's basically the same thing on
05:00the S20 FE. So I think this comparison really comes down to more so of the cameras, which we'll
05:05get into those side-by-side stills. But I think these are two pretty evenly well-matched phones.
05:12Also considering, remember that the S20 FE is significantly cheaper as well. All right,
05:17let's go ahead and check out these speakers.
05:25So
05:40I find a little bit punchier, but they're actually both the same volume.
05:47And the hi-hats are a little bit crispier on the S20 FE. So they go for two different type
05:52of tunings here. So they're kind of similar, but they go for two different tunings. You have
05:57more emphasis on mids and highs. And then with the iPhone, it sure has more emphasis on the bass.
06:03I also want to talk about some additional features. Both these phones have IP68 dust
06:07and water resistance, so they can get wet no issue. They also, like I said, this has SD card
06:13support. They both have NFC. The S20 FE does have reverse wireless charging as well too,
06:18which is really nice. Samsung desktop support, secure folders is all on here. I do want to go
06:24ahead and mention the fingerprint scanner. So the fingerprint scanner is really fast on the S20 FE.
06:30We also get face unlock, which is something that I really like. So just having those two methods
06:35on here. With the iPhone, we only get the face ID, which works great. It works better than
06:40Android's face unlock for sure. It's more secure, but overall, I would still like to see that two
06:47method authentication. So let's talk about the cameras. All right. So with the cameras, I'll show
06:54you guys the side-by-side stills. We do have a 48 megapixel standard on the iPhone, 12 megapixel
07:00telephoto lens, and then that is 3X. And then we have a 12 megapixel ultra wide. We also have a
07:06macro mode on here. And then we also have a 12 megapixel selfie cam on here as well. They both
07:13front and back shoot in 4K 60. With the S20 FE, we have a 12 megapixel standard and an 8 megapixel
07:19telephoto. It shoots in 3X. And then you also have a 12 megapixel ultra wide. It shoots in 4K
07:25on the front and back as well too with a 32 megapixel selfie cam on here. All right. So I'm
07:31gonna show you guys these side-by-side stills. Let me know which phone do you guys like.
08:01Here's the S20.
08:2125. And then we have our 3X.
08:31Here's the 14. 5.5, 2X, 3X.
08:51Let's talk about the battery life. So battery life is gonna be pretty good on the 14 Pro.
08:56This phone easily does six hours of screen-on time. And my S20 FE can also do six hours of
09:02screen-on time as well too. Again, battery life varies on how you use your phone. But in general,
09:07if you're just an average person, you're not doing a ton of gaming, these two phones typically are
09:12gonna last a full day, which is gonna be very good. So as far as the specs, you do have a 4,500
09:19milliamp battery on the S20. 25 watt charging, reverse wireless charging. And then with the
09:24iPhone, you have a 3,200 milliamp battery. You also have the wireless charging and MagSafe
09:30charging on here as well too. So I think two very good phones. The S20 FE, still a very good older
09:37flagship phone. You could save a lot of money. But if you do want the 14 Pro, it's also a very
09:43good option as well too. You just have to look at those pros and cons that you're getting here. So
09:48be sure to let me know what you guys think, and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
