00:00All right guys, today we got another request, the Galaxy S10 versus the iPhone 14 here.
00:07So if you're in the market for an older flagship, the S10 is great.
00:12And if you're thinking about upgrading your S10 to a 14, you want to see how it compares,
00:16we're going to go over all the pros and cons.
00:18So let's go ahead and get started here.
00:20Let's talk about the price.
00:21iPhone will cost you $829 is what I paid for it.
00:26And then the S10 you can find for around $200, probably a little bit cheaper, I'll have that
00:31link down below.
00:33Let's go ahead and talk about the hardware.
00:35So I think the S10 still looks pretty modern even compared to, you know, one of the newer
00:39flagships here.
00:41It's definitely the slimmer and lighter device in the hand.
00:45As you can see, the 14 just has those big massive cameras, that's kind of the trendy
00:51design, you know, this year.
00:54And also, you will notice a big hardware difference.
00:57The S10 does have a headphone jack and it does have SD card support, so that's one of
01:02the two biggest hardware differences and the iPhone obviously does not.
01:06And both these phones actually have IP68 dust and water resistant as well.
01:11I do like the design of both of these phones, I think they look great.
01:15I think the S10 is a little bit more comfortable because it's not as boxy as the iPhone.
01:22So as far as hardware goes, I think they are two very nice looking phones.
01:27Alright, let's talk about speed on both of these phones.
01:29So you have iOS 16 and the Apple A15 chip on here.
01:35You also have 128 gigs of internal storage and 6 gigs of RAM.
01:39The S10, it does have the Snapdragon 855, it's running Android 12, One UI 4.1 and then
01:46you do have the SD card support and you have 128 gigs of internal storage and 6 gigs of
01:52RAM.
01:53This version, I believe, is 8 gigs of RAM.
01:55So let's go ahead and just see how this translates to everyday use, we'll go ahead and just open
02:00up YouTube, S10 there, iPhone.
02:07They both 60Hz displays, so they both feel, you know, pretty much the same in terms of
02:11smoothness when you're scrolling.
02:14Let's try Subway Surf, iPhone, S10.
02:23So typically the iPhone, it seems like it'll load up games a little bit faster, but as
02:29you guys can see there, not really that big of a difference there in terms of speed.
02:34Let's go ahead and try Subway Surf, I mean not Subway Surf, PUBG.
02:38Alright, so when you actually are playing games on here, you will be surprised that
02:42PUBG is able to play at HDR extreme on the S10.
02:47So I tell people these are great, you know, just cheaper gaming phones because they just
02:52do so well.
02:53So just across the board, if you guys want to check out my gaming tests that I have actually
02:57on this phone, playing Fortnite, Call of Duty, all that good stuff, it just does an excellent
03:02job with performance, guys, so it's just a great device and it actually plays at the
03:07same settings as the iPhone 14 is able to also play at HDR extreme and again, they both
03:17feel super smooth, both very much playable, guys.
03:21So definitely, it's very impressive on the S10's part as far as just being super cheap
03:29and still being able to play at high settings.
03:32Alright guys, let's talk about the screens on both of these phones.
03:35So obviously, you can see the big difference here is the punch hole versus the notch here.
03:42I do think the punch hole still looks more modern than the notch on the 14 but as far
03:48as quality goes, these are two excellent screens.
03:52Also another difference is that the S10 is actually curved and the 14 is a completely
03:57flat display so that may or may not, you know, you may or may not like that.
04:02So let's go ahead and talk about just the specs.
04:05So the S10 has a 1440p display with 550 for the PPI, it's dynamic AMOLED at 6.1 inches
04:12and it just looks really nice HDR10 as well.
04:15The iPhone does have Apple's XDR OLED display.
04:19It is also a 6.1 inch display, 1170 by 2532, 460 for the PPI.
04:26Like I said, they both look good.
04:27They both look very sharp when it comes to icons and stuff like that.
04:31The S10 is the higher resolution though, you can watch 2K content on this phone.
04:37So like I said, both screens are great, you just sort of have to pick and choose because
04:39I know a lot of people hate the curved displays and stuff like that so it just really comes
04:44down to it.
04:45But just looking at both screens, they both give off great colors, great resolution.
04:49It just comes down to the screen designs, honestly.
04:51Alright, so let's go ahead and talk about the additional features here.
04:55So with the S10, something that I've always liked is that you do have two options.
05:00You have your in-display fingerprint sensor and then you also have your face unlock with
05:06the front-facing camera.
05:07The iPhone only does the face ID.
05:10Of course, there's no other implementation there.
05:14But yeah, so I do want to talk about both of these phones having NFC.
05:18They both have IP68 dust and water resistant.
05:20They both have wireless charging as well.
05:23As far as the software goes, like I said, most people really love iPhones for iMessage,
05:28FaceTime.
05:29But a lot of people don't know, Samsung has great software as far as Samsung desktop support,
05:34secure folders, also having the reverse wireless charging to be able to charge up another phone
05:40or some earbuds or something.
05:42So both phones have their little things.
05:44But there is something to note, the S10, this is its last major OS update, Android 12.
05:49It's currently in its security patch stages as well.
05:51It'll get three years of security patches.
05:54The iPhone, this phone will have a very long lifespan as far as software updates.
05:58So let's go ahead and check out these speakers.
05:59We've both got them at max volume, starting with the iPhone.
06:23Yeah, the iPhone definitely hits a little bit harder with the bass.
06:28Both phones have excellent speakers, but definitely I'll give it to the iPhone having
06:32a bit stronger speakers there.
06:33So let's go ahead and talk about the camera setups here.
06:36And I'll show you guys the side-by-side stills.
06:38You have a 12 megapixel standard and then a 12 megapixel ultra-wide.
06:42It shoots in 4K60.
06:44And then you have a 12 megapixel wide angle.
06:47And then you have a 12 megapixel ultra-wide.
06:49And then you have a 12 megapixel ultra-wide.
06:51And then you have a 12 megapixel ultra-wide.
06:53And then you have a 12 megapixel wide angle.
06:55It shoots in 4K60.
06:56And then you have a 12 megapixel selfie cam on here as well too that shoots in 4K60.
07:02And on the S10, you actually have a triple camera setup.
07:06It's a 12 megapixel standard, 12 megapixel telephoto.
07:09It does 2x.
07:10And then you have a 16 megapixel ultra-wide.
07:12It shoots in 4K60.
07:14And then you also have a 10 megapixel selfie on here that also shoots in 4K60.

08:57Alright, let's go ahead and talk about the battery situation here.
09:00So, with the iPhone, you have a 3279 milliamp battery.
09:04It does have wireless charging with the MagSafe charging.
09:07The S10, you have a 3400 milliamp battery.
09:10And it does have wireless charging with reverse wireless charging.
09:14So you get that nice little feature there.
09:16The iPhone definitely will give you a slightly better battery life than the S10 for sure.
09:21You definitely will get better screen on time.
09:24But the S10, it can definitely last you up to 6 hours of screen on time for sure.
09:30I've never had this phone die on me in a day.
09:33So it's definitely an all-day phone.
09:35But like I said, iPhone definitely going to get you that better screen on time.
