00:00What's up guys, so I got the request to do a battery drain test for the S21 Ultra and
00:04I'm really curious about this because I want to see how do these older flagship phones,
00:11how they do with battery life.
00:12So that was like a big thing with the last video we did about the pros and cons of older
00:17flagship phones.
00:18But let's see how an S21 Ultra, will it get you, you know, pretty close to screen on time
00:24that you would get, you know, if the battery was original, like how good is the battery
00:28health on this phone.
00:30So we're going to go ahead and kick it off here.
00:31I'm going to try to make this as accurate as possible.
00:34See we're on max brightness and we'll go ahead and just open TikTok here.
00:39I know it's something that people typically spend actually a long time on TikTok.
00:44That's why I've been posting shorts.
00:45People really like the short form content these days.
00:50But yeah, so we're going to go ahead and just load up TikTok here, let it play.
00:55I think people probably spend approximately 30 minutes to an hour on TikTok, which is
01:00crazy.
01:01But we'll just go ahead and let this play and flip through it here.
01:09I'm really excited to see and obviously we're fully charged, 100%.
01:14And yeah, we're at, of course, 1440p, 120 Hertz.
01:20So wow, that's a big head.
01:24And we'll go ahead and let this play, guys.
01:26All right, we're inching up on 45 minutes of TikTok and it looks like we're at around
01:3292% of battery life here.
01:35Well, this guy's big, man.
01:36You know, he would have to eat all day to get that big.

01:42I never, I've never seen that in my life.

01:48So let's go ahead and just play YouTube here.
01:51That's something I do a lot personally, watch a lot of YouTube videos.
01:56And we'll just go ahead and just leave this on auto.
02:02I'm on YouTube a lot, but I say we can let it play for about an hour, why not?
02:11So yeah, so far doing pretty good here.
02:14We'll see how it handles like some games and stuff like that.
02:18But so far, so good.
02:20All right, guys, we're at two hours and four minutes of screen on time and we're at 80%
02:26for YouTube.
02:27So now I want to go ahead and get into just a little bit of gaming here.
02:32And we'll get into a little bit more intensive gaming like with PUBG.
02:37But so far, the phone is not even really warm at all.
02:42It's very cool still.
02:43I'm sure once we actually hit it with a few heavier games, then we'll definitely see.
02:49But yeah, guys, I'm curious to see what this is going to do because that's the main argument
02:54with older flagship phones is that the battery life might not be as good, which I think you
03:02still get pretty good battery life out of an older flagship phone.
03:08So we'll just go ahead and see.
03:11And even compared to a mid-range phone, of course, we're going to check and see what
03:16the Galaxy S21 Ultra, what it was getting when it first came out when they were doing
03:22battery drain tests.
03:23And we'll sort of see how much battery life we lost.
03:26So that'll give us kind of a good perspective on what's going on here.
03:30All right, guys, we're at the three hour mark and we're at 65%.
03:37So we're doing pretty good here.
03:41Let's go ahead and go ahead and open up Instagram and we'll go ahead and let Instagram here

03:51I just noticed we haven't really did any type of social media and we'll see how this goes.
03:56We'll let this go for maybe 30, 45 minutes here.
04:01So far, so good, actually.
04:03We're a little bit warm, actually, after playing Subway Surf for sure there.
04:09But we're at 65%, which I think is very good.
04:11And remember, we're on max brightness as well, too.
04:13I did that on purpose just to prove a point.
04:17But yeah, so we'll be on Instagram here and we'll see what we get here with our screen
04:22on time.
04:23All right, guys, we're at the four hour mark here and we're only at 56% on the S21 Ultra.
04:30So now we're going to get into something a little bit more intensive here and we're going
04:34to go ahead and launch PUBG.
04:36We're going to play HDR Extreme and here's also just another great thing about older
04:41flagship phones is that you get very superior gaming compared to something like the Galaxy
04:47A54.
04:48You have the Snapdragon 888 chip on here and you get really smooth gameplay on these phones.
04:54It's still a very powerful chip for gaming here.
04:59This phone is really capable of running PUBG at 90 frames, it just hasn't been updated.
05:11But we'll go ahead and get into PUBG here.
05:15So we're doing pretty good.
05:16It's looking like we'll definitely get well over six hours screen on time, hopefully.
05:23We'll see how this does.
05:24We've been playing PUBG for about maybe an hour, I feel like people pretty much game
05:30for about an hour.
05:31But yeah, guys, definitely consider getting an older flagship if you guys like to play
05:35games.
05:36You can see HDR Extreme, it can do 90 frames, but it's just not supported.
05:41But yeah, guys, it's just super, super buttery smooth, this AAA chip.
05:45Now I'm also curious to see if it'll get any hotter because right now it's not really hot.
05:52It's actually just pretty warm.
05:54It's only when we play games.
05:55So when we open Subway Surfer, then it started to kind of heat up, but it's still fairly
06:02warm here.
06:03So we'll see what we get here, guys.
06:06All right, guys, we're at five hours and six minutes and we're at 29%.
06:12So gaming, it took a huge, huge hit on battery life.
06:16Like wow, I was not expecting that big of a hit there.
06:20So we're going to go ahead and do some video recording here and we'll let this play out
06:26for about 30 minutes here.
06:28And we'll go ahead and typically record in full HD, 60 frames.
06:35I'm not going to do a 4K 60, but we'll go ahead and record and see how this does.
06:42We'll let it just go to like the five hour, 36 minute mark or something like that.
06:48So yeah, so gaming on here and let's see, it just started getting pretty hot.
06:53It's a little, like I said, these triple A phones get really hot when you game.
06:58And it's not just this phone, it's a lot of the triple A phones that I've tried.
07:04But yeah, let's go ahead and just let this play out here.
07:06All right, guys, the phone is actually getting too hot today to use the camera.
07:11Like I was trying to tell you guys, I said the phone was getting kind of hot.
07:14So I'm going to have to record a video.
07:16So I'm going to go ahead and just go to the web browser and I guess we'll just like put
07:22up a stream or something and we'll see how that plays out from here.
07:29All right, we're six hours and 16 minutes in here, we're at 14%.
07:36And we'll go ahead and try again to go ahead and record some video and see if that will
07:44probably bring it to its end, maybe 15, 20 minutes of video.
07:49See what we get.
07:50All right, guys, we got about like 13 minutes for the camera and then the phone started
07:55to get too hot.
07:58So I guess we can finish it out with Subway Surf and we'll just let it go ahead and get
08:05to 1% currently at 5%.

08:11The S21 Ultra has died and you can see 0%, you probably can't see it, but 0% here, six
08:20hours and 43 minutes.
08:21So almost seven hours of screen on time.
08:24So like I was saying in my videos, this phone definitely lasts a full day.
08:28I've never had this phone die on me.
08:31And again, the phone does get pretty hot if you game a lot and it really does not get
08:39hot unless you're gaming on like PUBG or games like that.
08:45But typically, I never have like, you know, apps crash and stuff like that.
08:51But yeah, the camera just was like, it was just not going after PUBG, the camera was
08:55just not, it was just the phone was just heated up.
09:00So yeah, so that was pretty interesting.

09:03I've always said that about this triple A chip gets way too hot, you never see that
09:07with a 855 or a 65.
