00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be looking at the Galaxy S24 here.
00:04This was another pickup that I found here and I found it on Ebay for a very good price
00:10here at $575.
00:12It was in excellent condition and it was an unlocked version as well too which is something
00:16that I like because of the resale value if you do want to sell it, it's easier to have
00:20an unlocked version.
00:21Now this was a Verizon unlock so you can, oh I don't see the Verizon, oh here it is,
00:26the Verizon apps and yeah, this one was in excellent condition so I was really impressed
00:31with this one.
00:32One of my favorite pickups and we got a pretty good discount here, $575, if we look on Amazon
00:37here, you can see they're typically going for $670 for a used refurbished one and I
00:44think brand new you can get it for again like $780, $750.
00:49So we did a pretty good job, this is why I like to always mention this, I buy used refurbished
00:54phones majority of the time for the channel here so I'm not just recommending it just
00:58because I definitely do, you know, spend my own money and buy it.
01:02The number one thing about the S24 Plus that a lot of people love is actually the form
01:07factor here.
01:08So you get the bigger display and you don't have to deal with sort of the boxier design
01:14of the S24 Ultra which we will do a comparison about but this just feels way more comfortable
01:22and you can spend, like I said, a little bit less money and you're practically getting
01:26the same phone and this is for people who don't necessarily need the S Pen and you don't
01:30need the 100x zoom here.
01:33This phone is absolutely fantastic here.
01:35So I really like the white color on here, it's sort of more of a gray color I guess
01:41and I think it looks really good, let's see what the actual, yeah it's marble gray so
01:46I think it looks pretty good, it's like a darker gray here.
01:49So I think it looks solid here and one cool thing about this phone is that it really was
01:55in perfect condition.
01:56I think this person kept a case on it the whole time and there was a screen protector
02:01on here as well too so there's not even any, you know, little micro scratches here.
02:05It's an extremely clean phone.
02:07Let's talk about the panel on here guys.
02:10This panel is absolutely awesome.
02:13It is a, again, completely flat display and then on here we also do have a full 1440p
02:19resolution, it's LTPO AMOLED 120Hz, 2600 nits peak brightness here and it is absolutely
02:27an awesome display.
02:28Look at 513 for the PPI and remember to turn that brightness or that vividness slider up
02:34so you can get that more kind of colorful screen on here.
02:39But overall, very slim bezels, beautiful display.
02:42The only difference between this display and the S24's display is really the overall
02:47shape of it but besides that they're exactly the same and again, this one is just way more
02:52comfortable to hold and it's, to me, a little bit easier to one hand as well too because
02:57it's not as wide.
02:59You're also getting a beast of a processor with still very good benchmark scores.
03:04We got the Snapdragon 8Gen 3 on here.
03:06We also do have 256 gigs of internal storage and 12 gigs of RAM.
03:11We do have the Galaxy AI stuff on here.
03:14This phone will get the full 7 years of major OS updates.
03:17That's why I said now is the time if you're thinking about buying an S24 series phone
03:21in general, you really won't have to upgrade for a very, very long time and like I said,
03:26if we look at the Snapdragon 855, 865, you see how efficient those chipsets are still.
03:33These phones are going to be running really smooth so like I said, the time where people
03:36were upgrading their phones every year, two years, three years, four years is going to
03:41be gone because I mean, these phones are doing absolutely fantastic when it comes to the
03:47overall power and yeah, having that 7 years is I think a game changer because you're not
03:53going to be missing out on stuff because if they come out with some cool AI stuff, then
04:00you'll still get the AI updates.
04:02Gaming experience on the S24 Plus is still going to be fantastic here.
04:06Of course, we're able to play PUBG at 120 frames.
04:09It can play anything that you want, Genshin, Call of Duty.
04:15This phone does not have any type of heating issues, stays relatively cool.
04:19It can, you know, it'll get a little bit warm like any phone but I've never had the heating
04:25problems on any of the S24 series phones so I'm expecting this one to be pretty much the
04:31same here.
04:32Performance wise, it's going to be absolutely fantastic on here, would not worry about performance
04:38at all.
04:39And for those that are wondering, the cameras are pretty much the same.
04:42They look exactly the same on the S24 Ultra, even the S24, 50 megapixel standard, a 10
04:48megapixel telephoto, three times optical with a 12 megapixel ultrawide.
04:53You also can shoot in 8K 24 and 30 with a 12 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K 60.
04:59Like I said, it goes up to 30 times zoom which should be, you know, more than enough
05:04for most people but again, the only difference here with the S24 Ultra is that you're, you
05:09know, you don't have the 100 times zoom.
05:12But besides that guys, the photos are coming out absolutely fantastic here.
05:17It's exactly what you would expect.
05:18It does a great job in low light, it does a great job color wise, dynamic range is awesome.
05:25The video is really good on here as well too.
05:28The photos are just really crispy and, you know, just has a lot of detail.
05:31So overall, the photos is not something I would worry about at all on this device.
05:36They look absolutely fantastic.
05:38Let's check our speakers.
05:40Let's see if they sound just as good as the S24 Ultra.
05:59Yeah, they sound pretty much identical to the S24 Ultra.
06:03I have to put them side by side but I can't really hear a difference.
06:07The bass and everything is very clear.
06:12Yeah, I think the speakers sound very good on here.
06:16Another great thing about the S24 phones is that the battery life is great.
06:21So this one kind of has an interesting battery number here.
06:25It's 4900 milliamps.
06:26I'm not really sure why they wouldn't just put 5000.
06:28But it's 45 watt charging, wireless and reverse wireless charging is on board here.
06:34From what I've been seeing, and I'm actually going to do a battery drain test with all
06:37of the Plus phones guys.
06:38So be sure to subscribe for that if you're not subscribed so you can see that video because
06:44I'm really curious myself.
06:46But yeah, so overall the battery life is going to be fantastic on here.
06:50All of the Plus phones for me always do a really good job with battery life.
06:55Everything else works great.
06:56Fingerprint scanner, very fast.
06:58Samsung desktop is on here.
06:59So it's an interesting phone to consider.
07:02It has a lot of pros.
07:04I think you don't need to spend the $1000.
07:08You can just get this and basically have a phone that you can keep for basically 10 years
07:14at this point.
07:17If you don't need the S Pen, if you don't need the kind of boxier display, then I would
07:23say get this.
07:25You don't need that 100x zoom.
07:27Just get this phone.
07:28It's a fantastic phone.
07:29I think these phones get overlooked a lot.
