00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be looking at the Galaxy S23 Plus.
00:04This is a very interesting flagship device to consider here in 2024.
00:10I wouldn't necessarily call this an old flagship at all.
00:13But yeah, so this phone is pretty interesting because it's at a pretty somewhat decent price
00:19at around like $500 in the used refurbished marketplace here.
00:24And depending on if you get it locked or unlocked, the prices will vary.
00:28But typically you'll see it for like $459, $500.
00:33So this is a very interesting color you can see here.
00:35Got the lavender color here.
00:37It's a little bit of a darker purple than what you're seeing on the screen.
00:42But yeah, overall, I really do like the design on here as well too.
00:46Very nice premium feel on here as well.
00:50So this phone, it is IP68 dust and water resistant.
00:54Of course, you got the full glass and metal design.
00:57And what a lot of people like about these phones, these plus size phones,
01:02is that they're easier to hold than the Galaxy.
01:06Let's say if you're looking for like a Galaxy S23 Ultra, that's going to be really boxy.
01:11This is way, way easier to hold.
01:13It's much more comfortable since it curves on the edges.
01:17So that's definitely something that a lot of people really like.
01:22Now the display is pretty good on this device.
01:25It's a 6.6-inch display.
01:27And then you also do have really nice bezels on here.
01:31I believe 87.6% screen-to-body ratio on here.
01:35So you get really nice bezels.
01:38And then also, you know, it's a classic Samsung display.
01:41Dynamic AMOLED, 120 Hz, HDR10+.
01:45You also have the 1750 nits peak brightness on here as well too.
01:491080p resolution at 393 for the PPI.
01:53Overall, it's a beautiful panel here.
01:56So no issues at all with the screen.
01:58And like I said, what a lot of people like about these, you know, the plus phones,
02:02is that they don't have a curve to them.
02:04So it's a completely flat panel as you guys can see here.
02:08And yeah, absolutely really love the screen on here.
02:12All right, so as far as software, we are running the One UI 6 update here.
02:16So of course, we got all of the Galaxy AI features on here.
02:21And like I said, the only thing you'd be missing is like the S-Pen features.
02:25But most people, if you're buying this phone, you don't really care about the S-Pen.
02:29So that's pretty much why this phone exists.
02:31But you pretty much have everything in here that you would have on an S24.
02:37So that's really nice. You get all the Galaxy AI features.
02:40Now, the only difference here with the software is that the S23 series in general,
02:46I don't think it gets the 7 years of major OS updates.
02:49I think that's only for the S24 lineup and up.
02:53So this, I believe, still will fall under the 4 or 5 years of updates.
02:58So definitely take that into consideration.
03:00So this phone still has quite a bit more updates to go.
03:04So I believe it should get up to like Android 17 or 18.
03:07But as far as the software wise, again, really fast on here.
03:11No issues at all with this One UI update.
03:14It's been really pleasant to use here.
03:17Alright, let's talk about the overall experience here with gaming.
03:21Of course, it's going to be fantastic.
03:22But the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor on here has been pretty good.
03:27So what I like about the S23 Plus is the base model.
03:31You get 256 gigs of internal storage, which is always nice.
03:34And then you also get that 8 gigs of RAM.
03:37So when it comes to playing games, you know, like Call of Duty and stuff like that,
03:40whether you're playing PUBG, you can play, you know, at 90 frames, great settings,
03:44and have no problem.
03:46But this phone really does not heat up at all.
03:50I've never had any type of heating problems with this phone.
03:52So I've always been really happy with the performance on here.
04:00Turn this up so you guys can hear.
04:07Now, it will get like a little bit warm, like back here where this camera is,
04:12but it's nothing where it's actually uncomfortable.
04:14So that's why I said this processor is pretty good for the most part.
04:21And you can definitely play games on here.
04:22So like I said, this is a phone, it feels no different than the S24.
04:30Check out these speakers at max volume.
04:44So you guys can hear just a ton of bass, super clean sounding speakers.
05:02Absolutely love the speakers on the S23 series in general.
05:06The biometrics on here are excellent as well too, as you would expect.
05:11Really good for the fingerprint sensor and the face unlock is excellent as well too.
05:16All right, so let's talk about the cameras on the S23 Plus.
05:20You have a 50 megapixel standard and a 10 megapixel telephoto with three times optical
05:26and you get a max zoom of 30.
05:28And then you also have a 12 megapixel ultra wide 8K 24 and 30 video
05:33with a 12 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K 60.
05:37These are really, really good cameras, guys.
05:40They still pretty much take the same photos that you would see on the S24.
05:45There's very little difference here and you get excellent detail.
05:49Really good color on here.
05:51The zoom photography is actually pretty good.
05:52I mean, the 10 times did a pretty decent job.
05:55It's not, of course, as good as like the ultra, but it does a pretty decent job as well too.
06:00So you can just see these photos are just super crispy.
06:05Absolutely love the S23's cameras.
06:08The video is also really good on here as well too.
06:11So overall, I think you'll be really impressed with the video, you know, cameras
06:16and also low-light photography was pretty decent on here as well.
06:20This camera is going to excel in pretty much all areas.
06:23It's a really, really good camera.
06:26Then you pack it on with Samsung software, you know, being able to do the Expert Raw, Pro Mode, Pro Video.
06:32It's just an excellent camera experience.
06:34So if you're buying this and you want, you know, a flagship quality camera
06:38that's pretty much going to be on par with like the S24
06:42and you can get this for cheaper, it's definitely a good deal.
06:46All right guys, let's discuss battery life on the S23 Plus here.
06:50Battery life is excellent.
06:52Like I said, this phone has a pretty decent size battery.
06:55It's a 4,700 mAh battery and because the chip is so efficient
06:59and you're not really getting overheating or anything like that,
07:03you rarely will have to think about battery life on this phone.
07:05It's actually really, really good.
07:07So it's got a 45-watt fast charging on here as well, so it charges decently fast.
07:13But yeah, so screen-on time is going to be really good.
07:16It's not something I think you would really have to think about at all.
07:20Yeah, so you get the wireless charging and you also get the reverse wireless charging as well too.
07:24So if you, you know, were wondering, well, how's the battery life?
07:28Even for a heavy user, this phone still does a pretty good job.
07:32So yeah, so this phone really is, it's a very interesting phone
07:35because there's a lot of phones on the market.
07:37So I'm going to be doing comparisons this week on this phone.
07:40It's a very interesting phone.
07:41You got the S23 FE, you got the S22 Plus.
07:45You know, is it worth the upgrade if you are on an S21 or whatever?
07:50So it's a very interesting phone, you know, for around, you know, $500.
