00:02I like to do this video because I get this question a lot will I get the next version of Android so we all know
00:08Google did their beta release for the Android
00:1214 so if you have a pixel device you can actually try the

00:28I want to go over so you guys know you know if you're gonna get only security patches or a major OS update
00:34All right, so if you do have a galaxy s-series phone if you have a s 23 s 22 s
00:4121 any of the s 21 s 22 s or s 23s you will get the Android
00:4714 update when you are 6
00:49So also what's pretty interesting that's why I said it's a good time to buy an s21 device right now is
00:55Because you will not only get Android 14
00:58But you actually will get Android 15 if you have an s21 device and that'll be the last major OS update for s
01:0521 series phones s 22 phones obviously will get another year all right
01:10So if you have a galaxy z fold phone or a flip you can see fold for flip for fold 3 flip 3
01:17Those will get the Android 14 now. What's pretty interesting is the a series here, so galaxy a 73 a
01:2572 in the a 53, but what I found pretty exciting is that one of my favorite phones the a

01:32So all the a 52 phones will get the update so that's pretty exciting as well
01:37And then we also have the a 33 a 23 a 14 a 13 and a 0 4 s
01:43So those are the a series devices and then the m-series devices here. We can see the m53 m
01:50M33 m23 and then the galaxy x cover 6 Pro and then for the tablets it will be the galaxy
01:58S 8 ultra the s 8 plus in the galaxy tab s 8
02:03All right, so I know a lot of people they have a note devices the note 20 series
02:08No, you will not get any more major OS updates if you have a note phone
02:12You have a note phone you will only be getting security patches
02:17So you'll only be getting security patches with this phone if you guys want these live wallpapers, it's called an app called live loop
02:24So you guys can go ahead and check that out, but yeah, if you have a galaxy note 20 s
02:3120 phone any other s 20 phones or no 20 phones
02:35You're only getting security patches your last update was this Android 13 update when you I 5.1
02:42I believe you're gonna get approximately two to three years of security patches
02:46So I'm gonna show you guys how Samsung actually does their update
02:49So I believe when the s 22 was announced they pledged four years of major OS updates in five years of security patches
02:57So I'm gonna show you so when you buy a phone in the future, you'll sort of know how this works
03:02But just like for instance the s 22 ultra it was launched with Android 12 13 14 15 16
03:10so this phone the s 22 will get Android 16, and then it'll get security patches from then the
03:18the s 21 ultra
03:21Was launched with I'll just do it on here. Yes 21 ultra just for example
03:28And this only applies the four years only applies for s 21 and up like I said guys
03:34So for s 21 ultra we saw that this phone launched with Android 11 so 12 13 14 15
03:41So that's four years. It was stopping Android 15 and it would get security patches. So that's how Samsung is doing it
03:48That's why I said buying an older Samsung flagship is awesome because you get very long lifespan
03:54With these phones now, so we know when you I 5 or when you I 4 was actually a big update
03:59It was a big visual update right? And then when you I 5 sort of improved on that update
04:04So I I suspect that we'll see a pretty big
04:09Pretty big changes with one UI 6 hopefully
04:12So basically what's being said here, so let's just talk about what they did with Android 14 in general here
04:18So with Android 14 Google introduced improved UI design language for big screen devices like foldable phones and tablets
04:26So you got to know going into the future the Galaxy fold phones are you know?
04:31Samsung's really trying to push those phones and then you also have Google with their pixel devices
04:35So they're gonna be pushing foldable phones very heavy heavy this year
04:39And I think in the years to come they're trying to get people to convert to the you know
04:44The tablet sort of style of phones so Samsung could implement it into one UI 6 like Android 14 the one UI 6
04:53Update might let you modify keys on big screens and offer improved keyboard layout and behavior when you I 6 could also get predictive
05:00backgester which significantly improves navigation between apps and the rest of
05:05The software's UI Google has also streamlined operations for background apps
05:09Which helps in improving the battery life on Android smartphones and tablets, so that's also pretty big. Hopefully we see bigger
05:16Battery life Samsung could also integrate those changes into a software to offer even better battery life on their Galaxy devices
05:24That's all that would be crazy because the s23 ultra has crazy good battery life as well
05:30So that would be awesome that if it you know improves on that
05:34Samsung could also improve the UI design of its stock apps for foldable phones and tablets
05:38We can also expect improvements for split-screen multitasking and gestures across the system
05:43You could also add new features to its stock apps like you know phone message
05:48And then it goes over you know all the stock apps and it might also bring improvements to Dex
05:52so that's why I said I I suspect that they're gonna do big improvements to Dex because they're trying to get people to
05:58to convert to like the
06:01They want you to replace your laptop basically
06:04So I suspect that they will do that as well, too. So yeah, I think there's gonna be a lot of
06:10You know updates when it comes to big screen devices and foldables and also guys if you own a galaxy s10 series phone
06:18Unfortunately, these phones have stopped getting security patches. Nothing wrong with the phone is still where it's perfectly fine
06:23I did a few update videos, but those phones stopped at Android. What was the Android 12 when you I 4.1
06:31Yeah, Android 12 when you I 4.1 and those won't stop and they just stopped getting security patches
06:37Surprisingly the galaxy s s 10 5g got April security patch for some reason no one knows why
