00:00What's up guys today we're going to revisit the Galaxy S21 FE. This is an awesome you know older
00:06flagship phone to consider. It's very cheap and also just got the Android 14 update with WinUI 6
00:15and guys you can find these for like 200 bucks. This one I got off of eBay for like 200 bucks
00:20in pretty good condition and Amazon has them for pretty cheap as well too. Also like $219, $250
00:27depending on whether it's locked or unlocked and what is awesome about this phone is that
00:32since this phone actually launched with Android I believe 12 yeah it launched with Android 12
00:38that means this phone is actually going to get the Android 16 update. So it'll get Android 15 and 16
00:46so for something like the Galaxy S21 plus the S21 plus actually guys so this is why this is a
00:53good alternative for somebody who wants to keep this phone for a long time. If you guys look the
00:58S21 plus actually it launched with Android 11 so Android 15 would be the last update for the
01:06S21 plus so this is a good alternative for anybody who's going to keep this phone for a long time.
01:11You can keep this for a long time and it's still going to get updates and security patches so
01:16I think it's a very impressive phone. So let's go ahead and talk about the Android 14 update
01:21briefly. I already did like a you know video about it one of the features but I just want to go over
01:26performance real quick. Alright so I want to talk about how smooth the animations are and guys this
01:32phone is buttery smooth. It was always a smooth phone but now it's got like these slightly improved
01:37animations and it is buttery smooth guys. So I'm really impressed as far as battery life a lot of
01:42people are saying that they are getting a much better battery life with One UI 6 update in general.
01:48To me the phone is draining about the same so I don't see any real battery improvements for me
01:54but yeah I'm pretty impressed guys with the overall performance of One UI 6 and you pretty
02:00much have there are no features that are you know cut back on here it's all the same features you
02:05would find in the latest one. So yeah really impressed with this phone and someone asked if
02:10this phone has Samsung desktop support. Yeah it does have Samsung desktop support like I said
02:14it only is missing like the S Pen stuff. So if you take a second to look at the design of the
02:20S21 plus I think this phone still looks really good it still feels premium even though it's got
02:25this plastic back to it but it does have a textured back so you're not getting those fingerprints and
02:31honestly you know it's a hard phone to you know crack. If you go on eBay you see a lot of cracked
02:35up phones with the the back of the phone so you know plastic obviously it's going to be a little
02:40bit harder to to crack that but the design still looks really good on the S21 FE. It also is IP68
02:48dust and water resistant as well it's got that aluminum frame which is really nice and absolutely
02:53love that doesn't pick up fingerprints at all either so it's just a really well designed phone
02:58so it's something that you know I really appreciate. Alright so the screen on the S21 FE is actually
03:03still really impressive for this late 2023 going into 2024 and the reason is because it actually
03:10has some pretty slim bezels on here like we did a comparison I think not too long ago a couple
03:15months ago with the S23 FE this actually has slimmer bezels than the S23 FE which a lot of
03:22people were surprised by it's a completely flat panel as well too it's 792 for the max brightness
03:28so it's bright enough outdoors like I said not the brightest display but it does get the job
03:33done really nice vibrant colors on here it has Samsung's you know dynamic AMOLED display on here
03:38as well too it's a 6.4 inch display so it's uh you know it's not a small display but it's kind
03:45of like in the middle if you wanted something bigger at this price range you would go with the
03:49S21 plus but 1080p 403 for the PPI 120 hertz HDR 10 plus and it's a really nice panel like I said
03:57the display is really nice and vibrant and really nice bezels on here. Alright so I do want to touch
04:02on gaming a little bit on the S21 FE gaming is still pretty good on here like I said it's got a
04:07snapdragon 8 uh triple a processor and 128 gigs of internal storage and 6 gigs of ram on the base
04:14model and performance on here like I said is going to be pretty good I'm not the biggest fan of these
04:18triple 8 chips because they do get a little bit warm this phone it does not get as warm as like
04:24the S21 ultra or the S21 plus uh but it does get you know a little warm um but like I said I've
04:31never had this phone actually crash on me during gaming you know I'm able to play PUBG at HDR
04:35extreme uh unfortunately this has not got the 90 frames update yet um but yeah so gaming performance
04:43on here is like pretty good guys so whatever you play in the play store whether it be Call of Duty
04:48mobile, PUBG, Fortnite it's going to be able to do a pretty good job uh playing emulators I've never
04:55run into an issue with performance on this phone um so yeah so as you guys can see it's really
04:59really smooth so easily handles uh the latest games out right now. This phone does have stereo
05:06speakers as well too.
05:30So it actually does a pretty good job uh with the speakers as well so Samsung they did cut some
05:38corners of course with this phone it is a you know fan edition phone so this phone does have
05:43a under the display fingerprint sensor but it's not a ultrasonic one it's an optical one basically
05:50the only difference is that you know when you lightly like tap it it doesn't register with the
05:55optical ones you have to put a little bit of pressure um but it works 100% of the time and
06:00you also have the face unlock up here as well too that you can take advantage of. Now the S21 FE does
06:06take some pretty good photos still guys I was actually pretty impressed with the image quality
06:11I think the only thing that you would be missing here you know like in comparison to like an S21
06:16plus right um those have higher megapixels so you can get sort of you know if you want to shoot in
06:22like a higher megapixel and crop in and you still retain detail this one only has the 12 megapixel
06:28standard so it doesn't have like a 50 or 48 or anything like that it's got an 8 megapixel telephoto
06:33it does have three times optical zoom which is nice and then you also have 30 times for the
06:39digital zoom and then you also have a 12 megapixel ultra wide it shoots in 4k 60 on the front and
06:44back and has a 32 megapixel selfie cam on here as well too and it still takes some pretty good photos
06:50guys I was really impressed with the image quality that the S21 FE is able to put out
06:56um I don't think any of you guys would complain about the video or the image quality honestly
07:02especially outdoors it looks excellent really great punchy colors that Samsung is known for
07:09really good detail low light images are you know okay not terrible at all and it's just going to
07:15give you a really good a really good photo guys a selfie cam is pretty good on here as well too
07:20get a nice clean image and yeah I think the camera still look really solid on the S21 FE
07:27all right so as far as the battery life goes this phone surprisingly still gets pretty good battery
07:32life I'm able to easily get six hours of screen on time with this phone it has a 4500 milliamp hour
07:37battery you have 25 wire charging and you have wireless and reverse wireless charging on board
07:44as well too so this phone I've never had it actually die on me in a day it does pretty decent
07:49with standby time as well too but yeah battery life is actually not that bad at all so the S21
07:56FE is a pretty good buy I mean for like 200 bucks it's actually kind of a steal considering that
08:02it's going to get up to Android 16 and even security patches after that it still has a fairly
08:08modern looking design and display actually looks better than Samsung's newest FE and yeah it's
08:14still pretty powerful as well too good cameras so I mean it's just a it's a no-brainer anybody
08:19who wants to keep a you know an old flagship for a long time this would be the one to get for sure
