36:18セミの羽にはキチンという成分が含まれていることを知った。

36:25エビとかカニの殻にも入っているんだ。
36:29そういえばうちカニめっちゃあるわって思って
36:33カニがすごい有名なので。
36:37地元の名産カニからプラスチックが作れないかと思いついた。
36:44でも普通の女子高生がどうやって成功させたのか。
36:50へーGSCこんなのがあるんだ。
36:53ここに通ったら研究できるかも。
36:57GSCとはグローバルサイエンスキャンパスの略で
37:01科学的な専門分野を学びたい高校生を大学が支援する制度。
37:09もちろん厳しい審査があるのだが。
37:12いろんな大学があったんですけど東京大学にすごい惹かれて
37:16優東京GSCNextっていうプログラムなんですけど
37:21これだってなって応募したっていう感じですね。
37:25カニからプラスチックを作る研究をしたいと東京大学に応募。
37:31カニ殻を溶かしてキチンを取り出して
37:34それをフィルムにしてプラスチックとして使うんだっていうのを書きました。
37:39そしたらまさかの通らせていただくというか自分でもびっくりしました。
37:45一時選抜の97名には残ったが
37:49最終的に研究を支援してもらえる人はさらに絞られる。
37:55半年か一年間くらい東大の授業を受けたりとか
38:00研究提案をもっとより良いのにしなきゃいけない期間があって。
38:06しかしその過程で。
38:10もともとそのフィルムを作るっていうので浮かんでたんですけど
38:15ただ本当に本当に納得できてなくて
38:18このままだと研究できないなと思ってたので
38:21優東京GSCの中で皆さん微生物とか遺伝子だったり
38:27そういうミクロの話がすごく多くて大腸菌を使うとか。
38:32同世代の研究志望者と話すことであるヒントが。
38:37プラスチック微生物って調べてみたんですよ。
38:40みんなそういうことやってるしって言ったら
38:43PHAっていう微生物ってプラスチックを作る微生物がいる。
38:47それがPHAっていう成分がプラスチックになるみたいなのを知って。

43:57豊岡から東大まで5時間半くらいなんですけど

44:17一人黙々と比べるところで作業して
44:202時間くらいして帰るっていうの。

44:48そして研究を続け3年。

44:53私はカニ殻を食べてPHAというプラスチックを作ってくれる微生物を発見しました。
