Monday starts off with rain and strong winds in Scotland, particularly the north, as storm Ashley heads off north-east and exits the UK. Meanwhile, it is cloudy but mostly dry in England and Wales. In the afternoon once storm Ashley has passed it becomes sunnier for much of the UK but there will be a few scattered showers around.

00:00Good morning, we've still got Storm Ashley close by, bringing some strong and gusty winds
00:05to parts of Scotland, but largely brighter skies further towards the south. There is
00:10a wind warning in force across parts of Scotland, gusts of 50 to possibly 60 mph as Storm Ashley
00:15moves its way north and eastwards. Behind that, it's a case of sunny spells and frequent
00:20blustery showers moving through some of those affecting parts of Northern Ireland too. Largely
00:26drier towards Northern England, into parts of Wales and the south-west. Still may just
00:31see the odd shower, but towards the south-east, that's where we'll hold onto some cloudier
00:36skies through Monday, with some outbreaks of rain too that could be possibly on the
00:41heavy side. But we've got lighter winds here as well, temperatures up to 16 degrees, perhaps
00:47just a touch down on what we saw on Sunday. Highs of 11 to 13 towards the north. So as
00:54we go through Monday evening, cloud and rain across the south and east will sink its way
00:59south and eastwards to leave clearer skies behind. Showers persisting across Scotland,
01:04but moving their way southwards into northern parts of England, and more so into Wales as
01:09we start Tuesday morning. Clear skies in between though will allow temperatures to drop, so
01:15lows may be down into the high single figures at 8 or 9 degrees. But that does mean there's
01:22plenty of brightness to start the day on Tuesday with sunny spells. There will be some
01:27showers around first thing across south-western parts of England, into Wales, and then later
01:31on into the Midlands too, with a few showers across Northern Ireland and Scotland, but
01:36much fewer than what we've seen in recent days too. So there will be some sunny spells
01:41around and lighter winds, but otherwise still temperatures similar to what we've seen on
01:45previous days, 15 to 17 degrees as the high. That is all from me though, but make sure
