00:52A 26-year-old vlogger from Vermont, Eastman was abducted by an armed group on the night
00:56of October 17.
00:58He was dragged from his residence, shot in the leg when he resisted, and forced into
01:02a boat that sped off to sea.
01:04Authorities believe the group may be headed toward Basilan or any of the islands in the
01:08Sulu Archipelago.
01:09A video he posted on his YouTube channel on September 28 indicated he had security concerns.
01:15The video was titled, Living in the Philippines' Most Dangerous Area as an American.
01:20A Barangay official says Eastman converted to Islam and had been living in a poor area
01:24of Cebuco with his wife.
01:28The National Bureau of Investigation filed 16 criminal complaints against Tony Yang,
01:32the brother of former President Rodrigo Duterte's economic advisor, Michael Yang.
01:36Some of the complaints filed against Yang include the alleged falsification of public
01:40documents, perjury, and violation of the Anti-Alias Law.
01:43The rest of the complaints are unspecified.
01:46The NBI says its Northern Mindanao Bureau discovered Yang used pseudonyms to establish
01:50several corporations while concealing his identity as a Chinese national and obtaining
01:55a Filipino birth certificate.
01:57Immigration authorities arrested Yang, who is also known as Yang Jansin or Antonio Lim,
02:01on September 19, for being an undesirable alien.
02:05Philippine authorities flagged Yang's Steel Mill Corporation due to alleged torture and
02:09has said Yang's other businesses branched out to Philippine offshore gaming operators
02:13in Cagayan de Oro City.
02:15On September 28, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency confirmed one of Yang's business partners
02:19is a PIDEA person of interest.
02:24Indonesia's Prabowo Subianto on Sunday, October 20, took over as president of the world's
02:28third-largest democracy.
02:30He vows to combat corruption that plagued the country and to make it more self-sufficient.
02:35The 73-year-old has undergone a remarkable transformation from being a former military
02:39commander facing allegations of rights abuses.
02:42Prabowo, who unsuccessfully ran for the presidency twice before, said in a fiery speech,
02:47We must realize that a free nation is where the people are free.
02:51They must be freed from fear, poverty, hunger, ignorance, oppression, suffering.
02:56Prabowo won the February 14 contest with nearly 60 percent of the vote, built upon a formidable
03:01parliamentary coalition.
03:03He was joined in the squaring-in by 37-year-old Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the eldest son of
03:07outgoing President Joko Jokowi Widodo.
03:10Prabowo also announced his cabinet, a mix of professional and political appointees,
03:14with most of the economic ministers carryovers from Jokowi.
03:20Kamala Harris entered the final full month of the U.S. presidential election campaign,
03:24vastly outspending Donald Trump.
03:26According to financial disclosures, Democratic Vice President Harris spent $270 million last
03:32September, largely on ads, while former Republican President Trump's spending totaled $78 million,
03:38similarly on ads.
03:39The campaigns are racing the final stretch of an extremely tight presidential contest.
03:44Many polls show the two candidates neck-and-neck, including in battleground states that could
03:48determine the winner.
03:49Harris' larger bank account is helping her blanket airwaves with television ads in the
03:53final days before November 5, although it might not deliver victory.
03:57In the 2016 presidential contest, Trump defeated Hillary Clinton despite raising less money
04:02than the Democrat.
04:05Liam Payne's former partner pop singer Sheryl Tweedy joins the outpouring of grief over
04:10his death, calling for restraint and coverage to protect his family.
04:14The former One Direction member died at age 31 after falling from a hotel room balcony
04:18in Buenos Aires on Wednesday.
04:20Tweedy, who was in a relationship with Payne between 2016 and 2018, urges the media to
04:25remember they have a 7-year-old son, Bear, who could read the reports.
04:29She says, quote,
04:30"...one day Bear will have access to the abhorrent reports and media exploitation."
04:35Tweedy called on people to give Liam the little dignity he has left in the wake of his death
