00:03Five people have been arrested in Derbyshire as part of a national campaign focusing on young drivers and the fatal four,
00:10factors which are most often linked to serious injury or death on our roads.
00:15Derbyshire's road policing team took to the county's roads between September 23rd and October 6th
00:20to detect and educate younger motorists about the biggest risk factors leading to collisions.
00:25These include speeding or inappropriate speed, distractions such as using the mobile phone,
00:30driving under the influence of drink or drugs or not wearing a seatbelt.
00:34Last year, 34 people lost their lives in collisions and 473 people suffered serious injuries.
00:41A quarter of these involved drivers aged between the age of 17 and 25.
00:46During the campaign, officers detected 75 traffic offences amongst young motorists,
00:52with 41 of these being directly attributable to the fatal four offences.
00:57There were 15 cases involving mobile phones, 11 where seatbelts were not worn,
01:0210 where motorists were speeding and 5 where drivers were impeded through the use of drink or drugs.
01:07Two people aged 22 and 25 were arrested on suspicion of drug driving.
01:12Three people aged 19, 23 and 24 were arrested for drink driving
01:17and the 23-year-old was also arrested for driving without a licence or insurance and aggravated vehicle taking.
01:23Sergeant Scott Riley from Derbyshire's road policing team said
01:38By day, Derbyshire's Alex Horner rolls up for work at his family's bakery business in Derbyshire,
01:43but by night, he turns into a rock and roll star, wowing fans across the country.
01:48Alex is the new kid on the block as far as Elvis impersonators go,
01:52but he's already standing head and shoulders above the veterans, not least because he's 6 foot 4 inches tall.
01:57He said
01:58There aren't many Elvis tribute acts that are as tall.
02:01Alex, who lives in Tibshelf and works at the Bakehouse in South Normanton, has dyed his hair jet black to match Elvis
02:07and has watched numerous films and concert videos to mimic the moves and mannerisms of the legendary superstar.
02:12Young Elvis will be performing at the Black Swan Ashover on October 25th
02:16and you can catch him at gigs across Derbyshire this autumn and into the winter.
