00:00The Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD Field Office 6 has prepared more than 146 million relief goods for those affected in the Western Visayas.
00:13The details are reported by Eastern and Doza of the Philippine Information Agency, Western Visayas.
00:21The preposition sites, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Limaras, and Negros Occidental of the Department of Social Welfare and Development 6
00:29have more than 146.7 million relief goods for those affected by Hurricane Christine.
00:37According to the records of the Disaster Response Management Division of DSWD,
00:42here in Western Visayas, there are already 114,568 family food packs worth more than P89 million
00:50and P57 million of non-food items are being prepared by the agency.
00:56As of the moment, the DSWD Field Office 6 through the Disaster Response Management Division
01:01are now proactively responding to those needs of the LGU based on the DROMIC report
01:06and we are sufficient enough for our food packs in case of augmentation to all identified affected families.
01:15According to the Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council 6,
01:19as of 12-01-2024, 4,602 families or 20,403 individuals are affected here in Western Visayas
01:29and 283 families or 863 people are in more than 25 evacuation centers here in the region.
01:38It has been reported that 45 damaged houses in Aklan, Capiz, and Iloilo
01:43along with Negros Occidental where the floods have also affected the cities of Bacolod, Cipalay, Bago, and Cadiz.
01:50In Cadiz City, the City DRRMO has prioritized the continued implementation of clearing operations
01:55in the affected areas to ensure the safety of the residents here.
02:00Face-to-face classes are still suspended here in the region
02:04and sea trips are also canceled while the Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is still high here in Western Visayas.
02:12As part of the preparation, the Bureau of Fire Protection has also created an inventory of their equipment and personnel that is ready to respond.
02:21The DSWD Quick Response Team is also ready to respond to the food and non-food needs of the affected residents.
