00:00The places in Camanava were not able to pass because of the deep flood.
00:05Residents were afraid because the flood might happen again.
00:12That's what Isaiah Mirafentes reported.
00:16Many places in Camanava area were submerged in the flood.
00:19This is the result of heavy rain accompanied by high tide.
00:23In Malabon, some roads were not able to pass in the early morning.
00:28In Bungad Palang ng Lungsod, the flood water was almost up to the knees.
00:33Even in Barangay San Agustin in Malabon, which is near City Hall,
00:37the water was so deep that the vehicles could not pass.
00:41Most of the roads were like a big parking space for the vehicles of the residents
00:47so that it would not be submerged in the flood.
00:48That was one of the reasons.
00:51Maybe that's why some people fled because our high tide was high in the early morning.
00:56The flood water was so deep that the vehicles could not pass.
01:00In Navotas, many roads were flooded.
01:03In Barangay Tanzauno in Navotas,
01:05almost 100 families were evacuated because of the Christina Flood.
01:11Most of the people were in the tourist area, mostly in the riverway.
01:16Some of our evacuees fled because of the strong winds and at risk of blood.
01:23According to the residents who fled,
01:25they were afraid because the roofs of their houses were blown away by the strong winds.
01:31Just like Sherry Lina's family,
01:34who experienced the evacuation center for the first time.
01:37I was really afraid of the wind.
01:39We've been hit by the typhoon several times, but I never fled.
01:43I felt different last night.
01:45The wind was really strong.
01:48There was a portion of the roof of the house that was blown away.
01:51They are also afraid that their navigational floodgate might be destroyed again,
01:55just like what happened in Baguio earlier,
01:57when the water reached their area.
02:01In Valenzuela,
02:02earlier this morning,
02:04the small vehicles could not pass the MacArthur Highway.
02:08Almost 170 families went to their evacuation center.
02:14I can say that we are ready,
02:17knowing that part of Valenzuela is low-lying.
02:20So we have all the assets.
02:23Well, after the typhoon,
02:26we made a full effort to clean the drainage.
02:30In fact, we used our calamity funds to buy mobile pumps.
02:34As the flood reached Caloocana,
02:37the water reached Baywang.
02:40Most of the residents stayed on the second floor of their houses.
02:45Last night, because of the high tide in the rain,
02:50some areas were flooded.
02:55But when the sun rose early,
02:58the water subsided.
03:01The residents of Manave area are hoping
03:03that there won't be a strong rain
03:06because they are afraid that the same thing will happen again,
03:10like what happened in Baguio earlier.
03:13I'm Sayang Mira Fuentes for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
