00:00In La Union, relief operations for the families affected by the typhoon Christine have already started.
00:06The details are reported by Kathleen Ramones of the Philippine Information Agency, La Union.
00:14The distribution of aid to the families affected by the severe tropical storm Christine in the province of La Union has already started.
00:22Based on the 5 a.m. situation report of the La Union Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office,
00:28as of October 25, 1,058 food and non-food items worth Php 239,160 have been distributed to the families affected in San Fernando City, Bangar, and Luna.
00:446 kilos of rice, 8 cans of goods, and 6 sachets of coffee are included in the food items.
00:51For the non-food items, detergent powders, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, hygiene pads, and towels are included.
01:00At present, 844 families or 2,437 individuals are currently staying in 40 evacuation centers in Bangar, Balawan, San Juan, Luna, Bacnotan, Rosario, Burgos,
01:14Aringay, Caba, Bawang, Ago'o, and San Fernando City.

01:29Flooding in the barangays of Rawis, Baibay, Cabaruan, Balawak, and Narvacan was experienced due to the heavy rain caused by the typhoon.

01:44The local government coordinated with the Philippine Coast Guard and the Philippine National Police for search and rescue operations.
01:53163 houses were partially damaged, while 4 were totally damaged.
02:01La Union Governor Rafael Veronica Ortega-David said that the provincial government was able to assist the affected families and individuals here in La Union.
