Najib was actually the victim, now his lawyer must convince judge his innocence, says Ahmad

After attending a retreat of subsidiary agencies of the Rural and Regional Development Ministry in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday (Oct 30), Umno veteran and former Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Said was asked about former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak's 1MDB corruption case.  Ahmad maintained that Najib was the victim of the scandal, saying that Najib's defence team will now need to convince the judge that he was innocent. 00:00When we called for this meeting, there was no case.

00:11So we hope that the trial after this can give a satisfactory answer to the judge.

00:19Because for me, we can't comment much on this because of the court.

00:23But what we hope is that Najib will give justice, as best as possible.

00:28Because I know that the MDB is the result of cancelling the TIA that was established in Terenggana.

00:37So, Najib is the victim.

00:41But it's up to the final trial that was made by the lawyers themselves,

00:48to convince the judge about what the question is.

00:56Because we don't have the land yet.

00:59Most of the countries already have this law.

01:02But we hope that this can be implemented.

01:05Because sometimes, it's hard for us to think that when it comes to this court,

01:12if we increase the number of people, it will affect the content of the court.

01:16But that's why we think that,

01:19if we think that the Prophet himself had spoken,

01:25it's better to free the guilty than to punish the innocent.

01:29Because the judge's decision is heavy.

01:31If we say that three judges will go to hell,

01:36then the judge will make a fair and correct decision,

01:39not based on sentiment and so on.
