00:00In the world of sports, the 2024 East Asia Baseball Cup was held in the country.

00:06Let's take a look at the center of the news, Bernadette Tinoy of PTV Sports in the center of the news.

00:13The 2024 East Asia Baseball Cup officially started,

00:17where the Philippines was chosen as the host country for this year's edition.

00:22It was led by the Philippine Sports Commission,

00:24Philippine Amateur Baseball Association,

00:27and several countries held the opening ceremony at the Clark International Sports Complex in Pampanga.

00:33Aside from the Philippine National Baseball Team,

00:35the participants from Indonesia, Singapore, Cambodia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Thailand were also present.

00:43The objective really here is to continue to promote the game of baseball here in our region,

00:50the Southeast Asian region,

00:52so that we can encourage our other Southeast Asian colleagues

00:57to also establish a baseball program in their countries.

01:01The next step is the two teams from our group, Group B,

01:06and the two teams from Group A will play in the Super Round.

01:10So I'm expecting Thailand and Hong Kong to advance from Group A.

01:16We'll be in Group B.

01:18Several countries also gave their full support for the national team.

01:22In the game, the Philippines nominated Indonesia with an impressive score of 13-1 victory.

01:29We knew we could hit. That was evidenced by us scoring 13 runs.

01:32And I know we could pitch.

01:34You know, Hazbin gave up one run.

01:36You know, 13-1, I'll take that every day.

01:38And we played good defense.

01:40Harper, C., and Mark Beronilla also played a good defense.

01:45Actually, we expected that we could hit a lot.

01:49So we saw how many hits the team made.

01:53Defensively, flawless.

01:55We played well today. We scored a lot of runs.

01:57And that's our strategy is, you know, no mercy.

02:00Keep going. Keep scoring.

02:01Because there's no—it's baseball. You never know what can happen.
