00:00In the world of sports, the Philippine National Baseball Team announced that the national team for the upcoming East Asia Cup 2024 is ready.

00:09Let's take a look at Bernadette Pinoy of PTV Sports.

00:15One week before the start of the East Asia Cup that will be held in Clark, Pampanga,

00:20the Philippine National Baseball Team is ready to defend the country's crown in the said tournament.

00:26Romeo Jasmin will serve as the starting pitcher for the Philippine national team against Indonesia.

00:33For Jasmin, the country's representation in the international tournament is a great honor.

00:38Of course, I'm happy because this is where our countrymen will be able to watch and support my baseball game.

00:46Some of the national team members are the baseball stars Sinahar Percy and Lord Aragorn De Vera.

00:53I'm very excited because after five years since the SEA Games,

00:57I'm not part of the SEA Games, but after five years, we will represent again.

01:01I'm very excited to show our talents and skills, especially here in the Philippines.

01:08I think in the Philippines, there's a lot of potential for Filipinos to play baseball.

01:11Basketball is such a big sport here, but in baseball, there's just so much more opportunity for who we are and what type of people we are.

01:19The national team will face Indonesia on October 29,

01:23while Singapore will face Clark International Sports Complex on October 30.

01:29According to Coach Vince Aguisi, their encouragement is enough to show their determination in the upcoming match.

01:35I think we're ready. I think we're ready to win a championship here in the Philippines.

01:39It's exciting and hopefully we get a good turnout of fans.

01:43To come out to Clark International Sports Complex for the East Asia Cup, entrance is free.

01:50So there is no entrance fee. You just have to get there.

01:54But we welcome the support. The players deserve all the support from the Philippines.

01:59We want baseball to grow.
