00:00which is too long to read all of but essentially suggesting that the New England Patriots are
00:07going to ruin Drake May by starting him Sunday. How would we ruin him?
00:17He or she goes into the fact that there's no possible way that he would be able to get
00:23through concussion protocol this week and that you got a guy who clearly shows an awful lot of
00:30promise and you're going to throw him out there behind the line and he's going to somehow turn
00:36into Tua. He's not playing this weekend. I don't think he's going to. Zero chance.
00:40I mean there's five. I disagree. I think there's a strong chance he plays. How many players that
00:44have gotten a concussion have played the next week that didn't play on Thursday? When did
00:47they say he had a concussion? They said he was in protocol. Nobody ever confirmed that he had
00:52a concussion. I'm just going to say he's not playing Sunday. He wanted to come back in the
00:57second half of that game. He's going to play on Sunday. Right. I once had a concussion. I thought
01:00I was Batman. Did Malik Nabors get a concussion? Did he sit out the next week or did he play?
01:08Yeah, he got rocked on that play, though. Like he had to come out. I'm talking about
01:11quarterbacks. Yeah. I mean, Josh Allen had a concussion in the game, went through protocol
01:16the next day and still played the following Sunday. It was a Thursday night game. It wasn't one week.
01:19It was an extra extra break. Yeah. Josh Allen, he stayed in that game and played. Yes. I mean,
01:25there's five stages of recovery that you have to go through. Am I correct about that? I have
01:30the concussion protocol. I have no clue what it is. I think there's 12 steps you have to.
01:36You know, you have to start with light conditioning. And if you can get through
01:40that without an issue, then you have to go to mental gymnastics. Right. If you can,
01:48you have to be able to sing the new alphabet song. And if you can do that,
01:52then you have to do it backwards. Did we ever talk about that? The new alphabet song,
01:57which is just atrocious. Yeah, we talked about it, I think, for like three minutes. Yeah. It's
02:02the LMNOP part, right? Yeah. Well, the whole thing is just off. I have it if you want to hear it.
02:07The guy, I got an email that was two pages, single spaced about how I was ruining America.
02:14Why? Because, because you were not in favor of the right that I wasn't understanding how
02:18essential it was when my sole point was, we all learned to read. We had the old song,
02:24we're doing okay. Not everything needs to be changed. A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J,
02:32K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, Z. Now I never will forget how to say the alphabet.
02:49What's wrong? That's the new song. Thank you. It doesn't roll off the tongue as easily, you know?
02:57However you can get the kids to learn the alphabet. What about kids who can't clap?
03:02That's not very nice for them that don't have the rhythm. Yeah. Oh, it's not. I mean, uh,
03:08in the Twitch chat, somebody on team shine who says there are a lot of players who start the
03:14week after it. Yeah. Yeah. Constantly quarterbacks. I mean, I don't know what we have to stop
03:20thinking, but I think if he's like dealing with no symptoms, like if he's had no symptoms, uh,
03:26you know, after the game Monday, Tuesday, he's probably today was yesterday. He was probably
03:31working out Wednesday. Let's see where he is. And then I see where he is. And then
03:38we get the status report on him today. The final, that, that fifth stage is that you have to
03:43actually live. You have to be live. You're like, you actually have to be contact in contact. So
03:51but the problem is, is when do you really, you know, when can you not really going to
03:55contact the quarterback? So I, I'm with chime to the way in which that they've talked about it,
04:00the, it, it hasn't said like he's suffering from a concussion. Everything's just been
04:04he's in protocol and it's been pretty quiet on the front of him. So I, I wouldn't be surprised
04:10if we see him on something. Yeah. Uh, chime, is this correct? Five Oh eight text Brock Purdy
04:14was cleared in a week played after. Uh, I don't know. Uh, I, I wouldn't be shocked. I trust the
04:19text line. That's fine. If he doesn't have a concussion, you'll play. Yeah. If he has a
04:24concussion, he won't. Are you back to that original argument, which is that you're going
04:29to put your, you know, number three overall pick in jeopardy by playing him when you don't need to
04:38play him. Like the season is done. Like, what are you, you know, you have, you have two wins,
04:43right? Set them for the year. If that's your way of thinking, then don't, whether he's,
04:48whether he's able to sits out this week and is good to go the following week,
04:53then don't even play him. If you're concerned about injury, then sit him for the year.
04:57But if you want him to get the reps and you want him to get better and you want him to
05:02be able to go out there every single week and see to develop by actually playing,
05:07then let the kid play. And if he gets hurt, that's just the nature of the beast. All you can do is
05:10knock on wood. It's not something crazy, you know, and it's no need to sit him on the bet.
05:16He got hurt on a play where he gave himself up early, uh, where he was using his athletic ability
05:24and he slid. It wasn't like he was in the pocket and got absolutely smoked because one in alignment
05:29got blown by, he did it. He did a good job of trying to get down early as one of those plays
05:34that he just got hit the wrong way. And guess what? I bet he slides or he gets hit like that
05:39all the time. And maybe sometimes he doesn't get his bell rung. Yep. He's not the one that
05:44pulled him out of the game. Like it was the independent spotter that pulled him out. He,
05:48I mean, wasn't it? It was actually, wasn't it? Jacoby, Jacoby Brissett. He was talking to
05:55first alerted them. His pupils are dilating. I think he's seeing stars. That's like, um,
06:03Hey, just a heads up. I feel like maybe Drake might be concussed. Right? I should probably
06:10go into the game at this point. Kobe over there snitching on his teammates trying to get back in
06:15the game. Oh, I respect that. If that happened, Drake, how you feeling? I'm a little woozy,
06:20but I'm all right. Hey, uh, Gerard, I might want to check on Drake real quick.
06:24You might want to sit on kid. Can't do the alphabet song.
06:32Listen, I love if he's ready to go play him. I mean, we're at this point now, we all,
06:38we all want to see him develop and it looks like he's developing in a way that we're all happy.
06:44So it gives you an, a better chance of winning football games. Right. And so, you know, and
06:51again, this week, I mean, I guess maybe, maybe your Jacoby preset is enough to, to win this
07:00football game this week. So, well, if you're a fan, what do you want? We had this conversation.
07:05Do you want them to win football games? You don't want them to win another football game.
07:09I would like, I respect, I would like for them, you want them to be in games,
07:14right. And Drake may play well. So, uh, so our draft status will be top three,
07:22one or two if possible. Right. And that just leads, it gives us so many opportunities.
07:26If we got the number one overall pick, we could do so much stuff with that,
07:30whether it's trading back, whether it's maybe getting the player that you want.
07:35Um, there's so many different things, but if you're able to put together five, six wins,
07:42now it's just going to lower your draft status and you have to do a little bit more to get cute
07:47with your draft. But all the people saying that there's no point, the team isn't good.
07:50We're not going anywhere this season. So you should just sit them. Well, I think that you
07:53need to look at the benefits of, of Drake may getting more games underneath his belt,
07:57going into next season, like sitting him for the rest of the season,
08:00going out the way in which he did. There's gotta be some downside to that as well.
08:04Yeah. We all wanted to see him play. I don't think anybody thinks it's a good idea to,
08:09if he's healthy, not playing a lot of people on the Twitch saying that there's no reason to have
08:14him play when you're doing a risk reward thing. They're saying this particular week, there's no
08:19reward that is gained from him playing one additional football. Okay. So you're saying
08:24this week, but Courtney, you're saying sit up for the rest of the season. I'm talking about,
08:27it just popped up again. Splinter 1978 cocoa. There is no benefit at this point to play him
08:32for the rest of the entire season. Yeah. I gotta be honest. I kind of agree with that.
08:38If you're, if he, if he does have a concussion, can we stipulate that?
08:43Then I play him that what's the upside. Let's say he gets another concussion in the next two
08:51to three weeks. Okay. In a season that is, we all agree, meaningless in terms of the record.
08:56All right. Then why are you stacking up these hits on a guy when we all believe I'm not a
09:01doctor, I've never professed to be one, but the more, the closer proximity the concussions have
09:07to one another, the more likely the damage is long-term. Also, Jacoby Brissett just told
09:12Gerard Mayo that he thinks he has COVID so that maybe, maybe, maybe Drake shouldn't play this
09:20week because of the COVID. Ken just called Stacey said, we're not interviewing Drake on Monday.
09:25Excuse me, social distance, please. I got no issues if you want to sit him this week,
09:31but if he's healthy, so Curtis, you sit him this week and he's healthy to go next week.
09:36Are you playing them? Are you still on board with sitting them the whole season? If the doctors say
09:40there's no, there's no way that a secondary concussion will be worse today than it would
09:44be next year. I play them. 508 text Curtis to take a quote from the great Bill Belichick,
09:50football players play football. So because what's the difference? Well,
09:55Malcolm Butler didn't play. Explain that bill. I knew Curtis would have something to come back
09:59with. So I get, if you give him a week's rest where like, all right, he's not ready to go this
10:05week, but then he's passes all the things next week. So you just put them in. He's still at risk.
10:10Like every time you step on the football field, you're at risk risk to get a concussion every
10:14single time, every single time, but a concussion on top of a concussion in a shorter period of
10:21time has been proven to be a real issue. But if he doesn't even have a concussion,
10:26then this whole point is mute. Mute is the right way.
10:31A shout out LB. He used to say the point is mute. Just like you did.
10:39That drop will never come up again. First time.
10:41Well, I immediately corrected myself. I didn't need other people to correct me.
10:47Let Courtney have that. Yeah, you should. All right. Well, I we'll find out everybody. You
10:53got a concussion. Every time you step on the football guys, you have to remember too,
10:57that this is a team that reports where they were pissed that they were holding out Drake May
11:01because they were worried about him getting hurt. And all of these guys are saying,
11:04I'm putting my body on the field every single week. You don't care about me, but you care about
11:08him. That was a whole reason why there might be a mutiny quote unquote, uh, in the locker room.
11:13So if you're saying it's actually a, um, a mutiny, according to shy.
11:19So if you're saying that if he's, he's okay to go, but they're going to hold them out,
11:23like people are saying, there's no point in playing them. The guys are going to get mad again.
11:26Yeah. But I don't, people are like, is this a serious discussion? Uh, what a loser mentality.
11:32Uh, Curtis, you're ridiculous. Don't play him. That's so stupid. Like that's what the text line
11:39is saying. It's very hurtful. The whole, like, I don't even know you, like, you know, a concussion
11:43close to another concussion. Every time you step on the field, right. I won't the experts. And I'm
11:48making air quotes, tell you that you're giving yourself a concussion all the time. So you're
11:53always going to have maybe symptoms or if you feel fine and you step on the field and you're ready to
11:58go, you'll play. If he can play this week, you play him. That's, that's what he's there for.
12:05He's there to get more experience. He's there to build off what he's already done. Whether you
12:10win football games, in my opinion, does not matter to me. As long as he plays well, that's I care
12:15about. You got to get them on some of that fountain of youth stat. Yeah. Get him some
12:19booty sweat juice. Maybe that'll help with his concussions. All right. We got to take a break.
