00:00The House Squad Committee insisted that they will not send any transcripts of their hearings in the International Criminal Court.
00:09Former President Rodrigo Duterte once again invited the mega-panel to this 10th public hearing.
00:15Mela Lesmora is in the center of the news.
00:19The next hearing of the House Squad Committee is scheduled for November 7,
00:24where they will focus on the issues related to illegal drugs.
00:29According to Quadcom's lead chair Robert Ace Barbers,
00:32they will once again invite former President Rodrigo Duterte
00:36and they hope that, like the Senate, they will also face this in their hearings.
00:41In a statement, former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV said that
00:46the transcript of an important part of the Quadcom hearings
00:49has already been submitted to the International Criminal Court.
00:52The Senate also has a separate hearing on drug war that will be used by the ICC probe.
00:59But Barbers clarified that they have not yet been given a ruling on this,
01:04especially since they still want our own justice system to remain.
01:22Probably, what they did was they accessed all the social platforms of the House
01:28and maybe they transcribed it to them.
01:31We are not being given anything, we are not being submitted anything.
01:36The other ruling is to continue the invitation to the former president who is now facing Quadcom.
01:43According to House Deputy Majority Leader Jude Acidre,
01:46Duterte should be held accountable for his involvement with enablers
01:50because of the crimes under the War on Drugs.
01:53The former president first promised responsibility
01:57to the perpetrators of his anti-illegal drug campaign back then.
02:01Even though he denied that all of his policemen back then
02:05were also involved in the war on drugs.
02:08Mela Las Moras for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
02:14A political analyst pointed out that the Justice Department should investigate the case
02:20related to the statements of former President Rodrigo Duterte
02:23regarding the Senate's hearing on the War on Drugs.
02:26The former president's statements could be evidence, especially under oath, of the hearing.
02:32Professor Antonio Contreras also said that before the International Criminal Court discusses the case,
02:38the case should be investigated in the Philippines first.
02:43The Philippines should be first.
02:45What are we waiting for?
02:47There is the confession under oath.
02:49I will always insist that we should have jurisdiction
02:54because we are a free country with sovereignty.
