00:00The Philippine National Police rescued more than 70 refugees who were not victims of human trafficking.

00:07This is what Ryan Lezigets reported.

00:12On Tuesday night, the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group searched an office space

00:18in a building along Adriatico Street in Manila

00:21because of the Omonate Labs scam.

00:24The PNP-ACG rescued 68 refugees who were not victims of human trafficking.

00:33Some of the rescued were Chinese national, Malaysian, and Indonesian.

00:38Even though the PNP-ACG said it was a rescue operation,

00:42the PNP-ACG is still investigating the case against the refugees

00:46after they were found undocumented.

00:49Last night, the PNP-ACG released the refugees

00:53because there were no cases against them.

00:56The PNP-ACG Director, Police Major General Ronnie Francis Cariaga explained

01:01that the digital forensic examination of the computers in Sinagawang Raid is not yet complete.

01:08This is my biggest concern, the 69.

01:10Because as of this date, we cannot yet consider them as arrested.

01:14Because we haven't seen them yet.

01:17The computer data is still for examination.

01:21And the process of examination will always take time.

01:24The PNP-ACG is now consulting with the embassy

01:27about their immediate custody.

01:31The embassy processed it.

01:33They helped us through their attachés.

01:36They helped us, they assisted their nationals.

01:41This is the latest that arrived,

01:44a letter coming from the Bureau of Immigration

01:47that they cannot take legal custody.

01:49For us, we have no legal custody because there is no actual case yet.

01:55We still have to look at the result of the examination.

02:03Despite this, Cariaga still promised

02:06that they will file several cases against the refugees

02:10once the investigation of the evidence is over.

02:13Yes.

02:14We will still continue with the regular filing.

02:18Once appreciated by the court,

02:21what will happen is issuance of warrants of arrest.

02:24These people will still be arrested.

02:26Because these people are just here in the Philippines.

02:31The modus of these people is to look for a relationship

02:35and to convince them to invest in cryptocurrency.

02:39In the raid, computers and gadgets

02:44that are used by suspects in love and cryptocurrency scams

02:49were found.
