00:00The Philippine National Shooting Association will conclude the year on a high note
00:04by hosting the Southeast Asian Shooting Association Championships
00:08from November 24 to December 14.
00:11Paolo Salamatin has the details.
00:15The 46th edition of the Southeast Asian Shooting Championship
00:18will be hosted by the Philippine National Shooting Association
00:22and will feature competitions in practical shooting,
00:25sporting clays,
00:26bench rest,
00:27and Olympic shotgun,
00:29including both trap and skeet shooting.
00:32At least eight to nine neighboring countries are expected to join the three-week event,
00:37bringing together around 350 shooters.
00:40The Philippine team will be led by trap shooters Hagen Topasso,
00:44Eric Ang,
00:45and Olympian Jetro Dionisio,
00:47while the skeet event will feature Enrique Leandro Enriquez
00:50and Olympian Brian Rosario.
00:52On the women's side, shooters such as Valerie Levanza,

00:58and Franchette Quiroz will also represent the country.
01:02Yes, good morning everyone.
01:05So we're very excited in our PNSA.
01:08It's not really the first time to host it,
01:11but it's the first time
01:12and it's going to be like multi-event,
01:15biggest multi-shooting event that the Philippines is going to host for the year.
01:20When I say multi-shooting,
01:23this is not just Olympic shooting,
01:26as you would know.
01:28So around about eight, nine countries, eight countries.
01:32So we're pretty excited about it.
01:35Philippine National Shooting Association Secretary General Irene Garcia said
01:39that the PNSA anticipates a strong showing from Filipino shooters
01:43against competitors from top Southeast Asian countries,
01:47including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
01:51What I was saying earlier is for us to gauge where we're at,
01:55you know, we're for Southeast Asian games.
01:58So we're well exposed.
02:01And in fact, we have broken a lot of new records.
02:05So in 1991,
02:10times are different.
02:12So even the shooters and the targets are different now,
02:16the rules are different.
02:17It's actually tougher now.
02:19Paolo Salamatina from the National TV Network of the New and Better Philippines.
