00:00Ancestral Houses in Cabalbaran, Aguson del Norte is a must-visit place for tourists.
00:05This is a house that has been in existence for more than a year,
00:09and its original family still lives in this house.
00:14This is the central news of Rod Laguzan.
00:22If you are going to visit Aguson del Norte in Carraga,
00:25you should not miss visiting the Ancestral Houses here.
00:28The Ancestral House, which was built in 1904, is included here.
00:32Upon entering, you will see the various items of the family
00:35that were taken care of over time.
00:37According to the Department of Tourism, this is the most well-preserved house in the region.
00:41At present, there are more than 30 rooms here.
00:46My grandfather built this house for his second wife during their marriage.
00:54And then the original house starts in this room,
01:00up to the dining room, and there's a washroom there now.
01:04We practically grew up in this house.
01:07Since we were born here, we grew up here.
01:11At present, their family still lives here.
01:15Aside from this, when you go out of the house,
01:16there are other Ancestral Houses that you can see that are privately owned.
01:20Most of the old houses or Ancestral Houses here in Cabadbaran
01:24were built before World War II
01:27because Cabadbaran was a town before the end of the 19th century.
01:31This Ancestral House, the Ancestral House behind me now,
01:35was built by the Japanese.
01:37We just started doing this now.
01:40We connect with the private owners
01:43for their houses to be open for visitors.
01:46It would prove that the cultural heritage of Cabadbaran
01:50is as old as the Spanish colonial era and also with the American era.
01:56With the help of the Philippine Experience Program of the Department of Tourism,
01:59it will help to introduce their place to the public.
02:03Visitors will have a good memory of the time they visited the city.
02:07If you ask the content creator, Shane, who grew up in Cabadbaran
02:11and is known for visiting the not-so-visited tourist destinations,
02:15I am very, very happy with this experience
02:17because I feel that finally we have an opportunity
02:23to share the beauty of our place.
02:27I hope more Filipinos and more tourists will discover more places about the Philippines
02:35because there's more to discover about our country.
02:39So her tip for those who want to travel
02:41is to try the life of the locals,
02:43like where they eat and learn their stories.
02:47Rod Lobisan for Pambansang TV in the new Philippines.
