00:06to our countrymen who were victims of Hurricane Christine in Laurel, Batangas.

00:21Princess, from Talisay, Batangas, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was here in the town of Laurel.

00:32The President inspected the Bayuyungan Bridge that was destroyed by Hurricane Christine.

00:37He followed the distribution of the millions of pesos of financial aid for the victims of Hurricane Christine.

00:45The vast land of Hurricane Christine is still vacant in Laurel, Batangas.

00:50President Marcos saw it personally during his inspection of the area.

00:55He inspected the Bayuyungan Bridge that was destroyed by Hurricane Christine.

00:59This is the bridge that crossed Maragay Poblacion 3 and Bugaan East.

01:04The President ordered DPWH to quickly repair the bridge

01:10and assure that the design of the infrastructure programs for climate change has been completed.

01:16Next, President Marcos provided assistance to the victims of Hurricane Christine

01:22so that they can recover from the effects of the calamity.

01:25President Marcos received 10,000 pesos of financial aid from Laurel OCU.

01:31He also gave 10,000 pesos for the farmers and fishermen in Laurel.

01:38Many fishponds in the town were flooded by landslides.

01:41That's why many fingerlings or small fish were killed.

01:46Aside from the livelihood intervention,

01:49President Marcos also gave free roof, wood, and other construction materials

01:56that can be used to rebuild their damaged houses.

02:0110 people died in Laurel, Batangas and more than 1,000 houses were destroyed

02:07due to landslides and floods.

02:10President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said that the government's flood control projects are in place

02:17but Hurricane Christine caused too many floods.
