00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ordered all government agencies to help protect the victims of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

00:12The President promised to catch all those who are involved in such abuse of children.

00:19Alan Francisco will give you the details.

00:23President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. was emotional when he sympathized with the young victims of sexual abuse.

00:31He was particularly touched by the story of a survivor of online sexual abuse and exploitation of children, or OSAIC.

00:39It happened at an event in Makati City yesterday, which had the theme of One Nation, One Action.

00:46End Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children, or OSAIC, Summit 2024.

01:16Other children are even, as we hear, sit in this fancy hotel room, eating our fancy food, continuing to suffer the same fate as he has.

01:33And accompanying those tears I just shed was a deep sense of shame, because we have not done enough.

01:43For the Philippines to now be considered the epicenter of, let us not shorten it into a clinical term, OSAIC, it is sexual abuse and exploitation of children.

02:04That is why the President called for help to protect the children.

02:09As part of the action of the government is the Interagency Council Against Trafficking.

02:14There is also the full administration of the Presidential Office for Child Protection,

02:19which will be the center of efforts to ensure that every child in the country is protected and supported.

02:26At the legislative level, the President said, there is the Anti-OSAIC and Anti-SASAIM Act.

02:32There is also the Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022.

02:37This is also a big thing, the effective implementation of the Philippine Internet Crimes Against Children.

02:44President Marcos promised that he will pursue the contents of Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children.

02:51We are here today to confront one of the greatest challenges of our time.

02:57The challenges that we face in government are always the challenges that are brought to us by the future.

03:04And what exemplifies our future more, what symbolizes our future more than our children.

03:10And that is why this strikes at the very heart of our society.

03:14It undermines the foundations of what we are, of who we are as a people.

03:20No less than our President, Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said that the most heinous and evil of all crimes

03:32are crimes committed against children, specifically sexual exploitation.

03:41And during this meeting, he ordered all of those present to immediately crack down on OSAIC.

03:50This is our President who defends our future.

03:56The President also attended the Philippine Federal Party's General Assembly and National Convention in Manila.

04:03This is the party of President Marcos that won the 2022 National Elections.

04:08We are now able to assemble because the leadership and the assignments of the different areas

04:16and the different areas that need to be attended to are now at least filled.

04:21So we can now carry on with the actual nuts and bolts of our campaign.

04:29We are now thinking about how we will do this.

04:33It is not a small thing that we will schedule and how we will do the scheduling.

04:40It becomes a little bit more involved because it is not just the PFP that is moving.

04:46We are together, although we are the lead party, we are together in the alliance.

04:51And the different parties are together.

04:54All the big parties in the Philippines are now together.

04:58So we have to do all of this in conjunction with them.

05:03President Marcos gave the political parties the opportunity to adjust to the new way of campaigning.

05:09But what we can control are the things, the elements that are needed by our party members.

05:15And that is why we have had this meeting today.

05:19So that we can form the leadership of the party.

05:22So that we can face the leadership of the different parties.

05:27The filing of the Certificates of Candidacy for the midterm elections will be next month.

05:32That is why the President has a reminder to those who are hoping for a position in the government.

05:36My rule to myself when we are campaigning is, I learned this from my father.

05:41He said that you should always be close to getting sick.

05:46But you should not get sick because it is a waste of a few days when you get sick.

05:51You cannot afford one or two days when you are not campaigning.

05:54So we just need to get a perfect balance.

05:57That is what we will do for all of you.
