00:00Welcome back to Bear With Me.
00:19The Boston Bruins are now 6-6-1, and that is good enough for, say it Rob, fourth in
00:25the Atlantic Division, somewhere in the Eastern Conference and somewhere else in the National
00:29Hockey League.
00:30My name is Joey Capone and this is Rob Tocci.
00:31Rob, how are you doing, buddy?
00:33It doesn't matter how I'm doing.
00:35Is that actually how you're doing it?
00:39Are you okay?
00:40Are you good?
00:41No, I'm fine.
00:42Well, you were like, say it Rob, but then you didn't take a breath at all.
00:44So I had to say it at my first available opportunity, which just happened to be after you also said,
00:48how are you doing?
00:49Okay.
00:50All right.
00:51Oh, that makes sense.
00:52That all checks out.
00:53We are also brought to you by PrizePix, the exclusive daily fantasy sports partner of
00:56the CLNS Media Network and brought to you by Game Time, the best place to buy tickets
00:59online to sports concerts, all your favorite events.
01:01And the Boston Bruins, they did some stuff.
01:04They did a couple of very different things.
01:07So we're going to try to recap all of it, but also you saw it.
01:11So we don't need to recap all too much.
01:12We need to just kind of react to it.
01:14That's kind of our job.
01:15Sit here, talk to you guys, have a good time while we're doing it.
01:18And also try to replicate the feeling that we had after the first two games.
01:27Because there have been four games since we talked.
01:29We were supposed to do an episode after two.
01:33And what happened was they lost both of those games, Rob.
01:38And they looked so abysmally, terribly awful.
01:42We never even talked about doing one.
01:44We were going to, that was the plan.
01:46And then the time came and the time went.
01:50And lucky, lucky that we did for you guys, because it would have been a disastrous episode.
01:56Do you want to try to recreate what it would have sounded like?
01:58Okay, so you guys have heard that episode.
02:04Now we can move on to this episode.
02:06They're six, six, and one.
02:07So they're kind of right back where they were.
02:09One, two, lost two.
02:11But the order of events, the way it happened, all that matters a hell of a lot more.
02:16Bees back on track?
02:19Bees back on track?
02:21Yeah, bees, they seem to be.
02:24After the Philadelphia game, it's one game, you're not back on track after one game.
02:30But after two shutouts in two days, you're pretty back on track.
02:37I still have critiques.
02:39There are still areas for improvement.
02:43Absolutely.
02:44No, a thousand percent.
02:46But when you compare it to the two games prior to getting shut out by Philadelphia Flyers,
02:53and then losing eight to two to Carolina, a team that I still hate.
03:00I know it's a little dormant right now.
03:02That's not quite where it was four or five years ago.
03:06I still hate playing Carolina.
03:08And that game really didn't give me any reason not to hate playing Carolina.
03:12Carolina is a solid secondary rival.
03:16Yeah.
03:17Yeah, whereas now, I would put Carolina basically in the same tier as Montreal now,
03:22because they've fallen down, but they can't really fall below second tier.
03:25No.
03:26And Carolina was a top tier rivalry for a little bit,
03:30but it's just reaching the point where they might slip out of contention entirely.
03:35Yeah, a lot of it was the playoffs.
03:38We saw them quite a few years in a row.
03:41It just doesn't feel like we see them often enough now.
03:44There doesn't seem to be any big player rivalries.
03:46But again, if you want to talk about the mentality we were in after those two games,
03:50I couldn't have felt any worse.
03:52Oh, yeah.
03:53I thought this is a weird place to kind of take it.
03:57And I don't know if we want to spend a lot of time on this,
03:59because there's a ton of stuff for us to talk about.
04:01But I was really buying into the Montgomery hot seat conversations after that game.
04:08After the 8-2, I was like, okay, now maybe we can start talking about it,
04:12because there seems to be legitimate criticisms of Monty himself,
04:16and not just the team is losing, so let's fire the coach.
04:20That was maybe the first time this year where I've really sat there and been like,
04:23okay, I can see this being a legitimate possibility,
04:26and maybe even a warranted one.
04:29Yeah, I was right there with you.
04:31And I think a part of that was from the fact that going into the Carolina game,
04:38in the practice before that, and in the game itself,
04:41there were four brand new lines.
04:44The fourth line just got distributed through the lineup.
04:47And everybody was like, what's going on here?
04:49Like, these lines are insane.
04:52Like, Beecher on the top line, it was just madness.
04:55And it didn't work at all.
04:56It looked like the work of a desperate coach.
04:58It did. That's exactly what it looked like.
05:00It looked like, I think Fluto called it a Hail Mary that failed.
05:03So for you to take that big of a swing,
05:07and for it to just fail catastrophically,
05:10for you to potentially hit your season low in game, like, what, 11?
05:17That was when I was like, you know what?
05:18I'm not there yet, but I'm starting to get it.
05:21Like, I'm starting to be like, I could see me getting much closer
05:26to being like, I think Montgomery might not be the problem.
05:30Because it's not like it's like when a goaltender is getting shelled
05:35and you still want to kind of stay in it.
05:37So you put in the backup and like, yeah, it's about their performance.
05:41But it's also like you're telling the team,
05:42it's like you screwed it over for the first goaltender.
05:47We hope this can motivate you to play better for the second one.
05:49Kind of that mentality for like a coaching change.
05:52I don't think Montgomery is in that much jeopardy right now anymore.
06:00But it's also because of two games that we're saying that.
06:03Yeah, it's been literally two games.
06:05And again, I'll be at shutouts.
06:08But they were, and this is where I'm going to start qualifying a little bit.
06:11They were shutouts against pretty bad teams.
06:13And they were, you had two and three goals.
06:17I'm sorry, was there two and two?
06:20Now I can't remember.
06:20Well, it was two and three, but technically two and four.
06:24I'm sorry, it was 3-0-2-0, I had it backwards.
06:28And that's fine, but that's fine when you have the shutout.
06:32But you have to expect to let up one, two, three goals most games.
06:37So I and there were so many chances in both of those games
06:41that could have been goals and should have been goals and weren't,
06:45which is what I find very concerning is that they have these amazing
06:49opportunities, basically an empty net, and they just can't get it in.
06:53I was going to say
06:56there is a.
07:00I had note here, sorry, I was just looking for it.
07:06They look oddly panicked
07:09with the puck is how I would describe it, like just in the offensive zone.
07:13They just don't never look settled.
07:14They look never look like they they have a chance.
07:18They have set up for something.
07:19They are dominating play in the zone.
07:21That's just never how they look.
07:22It doesn't look like a.
07:25A finished product, it's not the team that makes you go, OK,
07:28if they can just play like this throughout the rest of the year
07:32or if this team shows up in the playoffs, who's beating them?
07:35It's nothing like that.
07:36Like, it's it's weird to say that after, like you said, back to back shutouts.
07:41But these were games that they should have won
07:45and they did win and they have good goaltending
07:49from from from both goaltenders from both from both from both goaltenders.
07:55But yeah, the the the whoa
07:59Corpy for Vezina.
08:01Now we're talking the top lines specifically their inability to finish
08:05is a criminal.
08:08It's weird.
08:09So many chances where it doesn't even look like, oh, like that's
08:13they should have scored there.
08:14It's these ongoing, prolonged in the zone moments
08:18where you're like, OK, here it comes.
08:20Here it comes. Here it comes. Here it comes. And they.
08:23Yeah, it's dominating, dominating them.
08:26Heavy, heavy pressure. Great chances.
08:29Like they played almost every shift against Seattle.
08:32They made them look foolish.
08:35But again, it's like when you do that,
08:37like there should be a little bit more conversion going on.
08:40Like there's I would have liked more than two goals in that game.
08:44Yes, you only needed one.
08:46But I like, yeah, like it's the the inability to finish
08:49in some circumstances is it's a little concerning.
08:52And that's a funny thing to say when they just won two games in a row
08:54with a shutout.
08:55But but I mean, the best goal to get, like the best hockey goal of IO.
09:00I keep using this the brand new thing that I've latched on to that.
09:04I'm going to give you like which of these goals would a coach
09:06like a youth coach pull up and be like, look at this.
09:10Look at how they executed this.
09:11The best goal of that game didn't count.
09:14It was the soccer goal. Yeah.
09:17Which let's just talk about right now.
09:22I am increasingly against replay.
09:27I'm just entirely it slows down the game to a point that like I
09:32beyond frustrated by it, but also spirit of the rule shit.
09:36Oh, yeah. Maybe I'm so old.
09:39I'm reading a book on World War two.
09:40Maybe I'm accidentally 55 years old.
09:43I don't know how I've gotten these opinions that I've gotten, but
09:49that's not the spirit of the rule.
09:51Being a quarter of an inch offside, it's to prevent like cherry pick.
09:54That's the point of the rule, right?
09:56It did.
10:00I was getting so fucking mad
10:04reading people and our replies and just anywhere.
10:08It's trying to explain to me and explain to anybody why the goal.
10:11No, it was outside, because if you read this line in the rule, fuck you.
10:16Does matter.
10:17Do you understand how nitpicking that is?
10:19If the idea is that you can proceed, you can go into the zone
10:23before the pocket, if you are in possession control.
10:28What Zaka have possession control, if you're like breaking down like,
10:32oh, yes, but in this centimeter, it was it wasn't quite on the blade of his stick.
10:37It's like, fuck you.
10:38Talk about the spirit of the rule.
10:39It's like what about that play makes you think Zaka is not in control there?
10:44It's also like the point of the rule is like, well, it's unfair to have a player
10:48beyond like, right, if you get down to like,
10:50you know, the founding fathers of the game to be like coming up
10:54with the rule of offsides, like, well, it's not fair to have a player
10:57just like up there.
10:59Yeah. Like what advantage did did that provide or whatever?
11:03And this is really we're not sitting here complaining about it
11:07because, you know, it was a goal that would have tied the game.
11:10And God damn it, the that should have counted.
11:13It doesn't matter.
11:14It's more just I don't know if that was sharks jets.
11:18I would be walking around with the exact same opinion of like,
11:20what are we doing here? Does this matter?
11:22Do we need to be spending this much time on it?
11:25And I loved Brick's reaction.
11:27It was just a cold, almost emotionless, just bad call.
11:32Yeah, that's not a call that we can move on.
11:34But bad call, just so everybody knows, bad call, definitive bad call.
11:39Like it is literally a matter of inches.
11:42And at that point, it doesn't matter.
11:46It doesn't matter.
11:49Not at all.
11:50It's again, it's also just like the of the live hockey experience.
11:54It totally detracts from it.
11:55Yeah, you're selling an entertainment replays. Yeah.
12:00It's like I think it was to Fumi, who's just like,
12:02if there's an argument to be made both ways, it's not conclusive
12:05and you cannot overturn it.
12:07Mm hmm.
12:08Like that, it should be super obvious if you want to overturn it.
12:12And that was not super obvious.
12:14I was very surprised.
12:15They called it back.
12:15Well, I didn't even have to get defeated.
12:17Like, of course, you're going to call it back.
12:19I was like, to my understanding, like that is what possession and control
12:22looks like.
12:24Like I was he was handling the puck going up to the blue line
12:27and just at the blue line made a pass behind him.
12:32I think it should just be a guy in Toronto
12:36who dedicated to every game.
12:39I don't think that's that hard.
12:41OK, and I same guy every time.
12:43Yeah. Or just just they have eight games at night.
12:47There's eight replay guys on call and like cricket.
12:51Have you ever seen cricket reviews?
12:53No. They like a player will challenge or what?
12:56I don't know if it's a player, but what doesn't matter.
12:58We'll like tell the referee umpire linesman.
13:01I do not know cricket cricket.
13:02Well, we'll challenge something and they will like point up to the video board
13:07and it'll go like five seconds
13:11and then a ruling appears on the screen.
13:14It's just like they're like, what do you think?
13:17I in the sky.
13:18They're like, he is safe.
13:21Boom. Move on.
13:22That's like all the technology nowadays.
13:24It's like I know there's like a whole conversation
13:27about like robo umpires, and I know there's a lot to talk about there.
13:35Like, I think you lose something in the game
13:38when you take the human element out of even the refereeing.
13:41But let me know.
13:44I mean, there with the review, like maybe we we try the human approach first.
13:50And then if we're not sure, we ask the robot who knows.
13:54It's like it's OK to look in the back.
13:56It's OK to look in the back of the textbook for the answer,
13:58if you're not really sure.
13:59I'm not even implying like let technology make the decision.
14:02I'm saying like if if a coach challenges it, that a referee
14:08gets on his I don't know, like a cop, he has like a like a radio and a shirt.
14:12But he goes like, hey, Toronto, is that offsides or not?
14:16And they in five seconds go. Yes, it was.
14:20Instead of hold on, they congregate, they go over the thing,
14:24they pull out the iPad, they put on the headset,
14:27but they show the angle, we show the referees, we show the bench.
14:30We show the replay and we show the referee watching the replay.
14:33Referee is talking to the other the linesman.
14:36We show the other bench and we show the replay and that.
14:41What am I watching, dude?
14:43Like, show me, show me an ad, dude.
14:45Show me what Burger King's got instead of this.
14:47I it's a bad entertainment product, whatever.
14:52Speaking of entertainment products.
14:54If you want to make the game a little more interesting for yourself,
14:56you're sitting around watching these reviews and you're like, my goodness,
15:00is there a way that I could make a couple of bucks while I'm sitting here, dude?

16:51Charlie Coyle, MVP of the week.
16:55Best player on the ice a couple of games in a row.
16:57Charlie Coyle's awake, everybody.
16:59Took a little bit, took a little bit, but he's here.
17:01What's up? What's up?
17:02But he does this and he gets her hopes up
17:07and he's the most dominant player on the Bruins.
17:10And you're like, holy shit, look at Charlie Coyle.
17:14And then he stops doing it.
17:16So I'm going to I don't I don't want to ruin the party
17:20because I'm fucking loving.
17:22I did. I am loving Charlie Coyle right now.
17:25He this is what I wish he did every single game.
17:28Oh, yeah.
17:29But I'm trying to protect myself here.
17:31He's just there's no better way to put this.
17:35When he is on, he plays like a captain. Yeah.
17:41He plays like a 1C when he when he's like firing in all cylinders,
17:45you're like, why isn't this guy the 1C?
17:47But he just looks like a leader.
17:49Something about the way like just his confidence.
17:51It seems infectious.
17:53And just like the feeds he makes, he just seems like he makes he elevates.
17:56He makes the players around him better when he's on his game.
18:00Yeah, very persistent, very determined.
18:02Just like there's almost nothing the other team can do
18:05to stop him from doing what he's going to do.
18:07Like you can knock him down.
18:08He'll make the play from his knees.
18:10You can try to hit him.
18:10He's probably going to hit you back at the same time.
18:12Like he'll make a play. He'll score the goal.
18:15He'll yell in your face.
18:16He'll laugh in your face.
18:18It's all there.
18:18He'll fight you if he has to.
18:2063 to 20.
18:21Charlie Coyle is a big boy.
18:22It's a big boy.
18:23People don't talk about it.
18:24He's a big boy.
18:25Gentle guy. He's so quiet.
18:27So in the Philly game, and I texted you because I watched it after the fact.
18:31The first thing I think I text you was like, Coyle looks great,
18:34like noticeably better than he has been.
18:37And you said you have the same note when you were watching best
18:40Freddie or best Coyle game of the year.
18:43Yeah, and I don't know.
18:45I think Nesson said as much to during the pre
18:48the show before the Seattle game, they were talking about Coyle
18:51against Philadelphia, saying this is probably his best.
18:54Not even probably.
18:54This was his best game of the year so far.
18:57And then not really a strong second contender, to be fair.
19:01No, not quite.
19:02Very definitively that game.
19:04Yeah. And then, I mean, we're probably going to bounce around a lot.
19:07I mean, we can basically just throw these two games into one massive game.
19:11Yeah. That power play goal by Charlie Coyle against Seattle
19:16is one of those goals.
19:17I just started laughing like, like, what's like?
19:20That's bananas like getting it down low.
19:25And the court has to like, he plays it really aggressively.
19:27Like, that's the move.
19:28Like, you would think it like 99 times out of 100, like Coyle
19:33or anybody else in that position, which is one time it and the right move.
19:36It would just be attack him, close the angle.
19:41And Coyle's like, yes, but what if I didn't?
19:43What if I pump fake you and went around you
19:44and then brought it back and then tucked it in?
19:46What if I did that instead?
19:48And he didn't. It was fucking awesome.
19:50It was so cool. It's my favorite goal of the year so far.
19:53I mean, it's also just like on Coyle ish.
19:57Yes. Where like when I saw it go in, I was like, wait, whom?
20:04Whom is there doing such things?
20:08Charlie Coyle.
20:10Whom? It's not even like he doesn't have good hands
20:12because he definitely is good hands.
20:13I still maintain he is the best hand eye coordination on the team.
20:17I don't think anybody bats it out of the air quite like Coyle does.
20:21But that it was, again, it's like one of those goals.
20:23I'm like, dude, like you're on Mike special stuff right now.
20:25Like what's going on?
20:27Yeah, there there is like a this guy's got to be juiced right now.
20:31Yeah. Element like something is up here.
20:33We're not implying that he is.
20:35But I'm I'm I'm I'm accusing.
20:38OK, Joe is Joe is accusing.
20:40I'm going to distance myself.
20:42But yeah, but no, it just I can't say enough about Coyle right now.
20:46And I think
20:49Monty really hit something with the Lions
20:51that started in the Philly game, especially Zaka Coyle Brazzo.
20:56I'm fucking loving that line right now.
20:59That is all the lines are kind of clicking right now.
21:02Like the they so much so that he didn't even touch it going into Seattle.
21:06He's like, we're going to keep the four recruits the same.
21:08Which has he ever done?
21:10I don't believe so.
21:12And the only time I think it really changed consistently
21:15is with Pasternak getting benched for the third period, which we'll get to.
21:19Yeah, but I just the lines have been really good.
21:22So you got Marcian Lindholm, Pasternak.
21:24Those are your big threats.
21:25I love them all being together, especially like Marcian and Lindholm together.
21:28Zaka Coyle Brazzo, as we said, Freddie Patra geeky
21:33working, working big time.
21:35You're getting geeky involved.
21:37Still not quite on the sheet, but Freddie's looking great.
21:41Patra when not if, but when he gets obliterated every game,
21:45Freddie will step in and protect him.
21:48And then the fourth line is back together.
21:50I think this is the best group right now
21:54until we add Tyler Johnson, which the Bruins just did,
21:58signing a one year $775,000 deal.
22:02Welcome to Boston.
22:03Tyler Johnson officially welcome.
22:07You don't need another Tyler.
22:10Curious where he's going to end up going.
22:12He was practicing in that two C spot, which is coil spot right now.
22:17Some curious one who's going to draw out.
22:22Performance wise, I'm going to say it would probably be geeky,
22:26but who's but I don't really know.
22:29Geeky's geeky, such an odd specimen.
22:34Yeah, but just in his time here as a whole
22:38with geeky, I'm almost reluctant to take him out
22:40because he does appear to be warming up.
22:43He is, but he has been playing better.
22:45He's also just such a high ceiling player.
22:47Yeah, and it's like I don't want to give up on him yet.
22:50It's still early in the season.
22:51Like he's having a rough start, but I'm afraid of taking him out
22:55when he's just starting to show some smoke a little bit.
22:58Yeah, so we'll see.
22:59I'm very it's money.
23:01He could put Johnson on defense.
23:04I don't know, but you can put Johnson and Johnson, a family company.
23:09You don't need tears.
23:11You don't.
23:15But up, up, up, up.
23:18David Pasternak was benched for the third period.
23:20David Pasternak was benched for the third period.
23:21What what is that?
23:24Did you see some?
23:25I saw the giveaway.
23:26I saw. Yeah.
23:27I feel like the end of the second period on the power play.
23:29On the power. Yeah.
23:30Kind of the blue line.
23:31Somebody going on the doodle.
23:33Yeah, yeah, yeah.
23:34Here's the thing.
23:35This goes back to the the whole soccer goal thing, too.
23:40Maybe we don't.
23:41Maybe we don't play around the blue lines.
23:44Maybe we don't play around the blue lines, but get the puck in.
23:47Can I just say something?
23:49You may, but I am a.
23:52Critic of David Pasternak, I always have been pasta tax.
23:57If you guys are new to the show, it's always been our way to put it.
24:01You got to pay the pasta tax.
24:02Yeah, he's going to create 20 goals a year
24:05that no other human on the planet really could.
24:07But he's also going to just like fall down and give up on a play sometimes.
24:13I don't.
24:15I've seen more egregious things from David Pasternak.
24:19Like, I don't think that this was like bench him for a period worthy.
24:23No, I agree.
24:24That just looks like a very average Bruins
24:28offensive zone entry attempt on the power play.
24:30That's what they all look like to me.
24:32Like so much.
24:33So when I saw the replay, I'm like, oh, I thought it would be worse than that.
24:38It's not great, but it's not like I feel like Martians thing
24:42that he got yelled at was worse and not even by a lot,
24:46because I didn't even think that was like catastrophically awful or anything.
24:49And it wasn't like game breaking.
24:51The fact that like when he got benched, people were like, is he hurt?
24:57Like there wasn't even like a singular like, oh, of course.
25:00Yeah, which happens usually with younger guys
25:03who have like a shorter leash than David Pasternak does.
25:06But like usually there's like an egregious turnover
25:09that would typically lead to a goal, which it didn't in this case.
25:12And then you don't see that player.
25:14You're like, oh, well, obviously that's why.
25:17But the fact that the weird thing, too, is like it didn't lead to a goal.
25:20If it was if it did, then I guess maybe we could be like, hey,
25:24you know, it did lead to a goal wasn't made that egregious.
25:27But whatever you talk about, the end result, there wasn't even that.
25:31It was just not just weird.
25:33I think it's a I think there's more to it than that.
25:35And not even a like behind the scenes kind of thing.
25:39But the optics of it, it's like Pasternak typically responds
25:42pretty well to getting called out, and that is getting called out.
25:45He already responded well to it.
25:47He was. What did he say?
25:50Hold on. I have the quote here. Stand by.
25:53I don't have the quote here.
25:54And moving on, basically just saying it's like, yeah, like
25:57I messed up and I'm responsible for it and I'm already moving on from it.
26:02He said something like that was a bad turnover.
26:04I just want to move forward.
26:05I don't want to be any distraction to our team.
26:08The guys know how I feel about them here.
26:11It's a bad play.
26:12I take accountability and already moving forward. There you go.
26:15It's like, yeah, OK, so I think it may be more of a message for the team.
26:19It's like no one is immune.
26:21Like I will bench David fucking Pasternak for a whole period
26:25if I don't think you're up to snuff.
26:27And with Monty previously being on the hot seat
26:30and you're still winning two to nothing at that point,
26:33and then you're still willing to bench your best offensive threat.
26:36I think that's like a
26:39a chestnut checkers move for money.
26:40I think it's more than just that singular play.
26:43I think it's I'm going to call out Pasternak because he is loose
26:46and he does want him to tighten up,
26:48especially in the power play when he should be making his money.
26:53So I'm very curious to see how he's going to respond.
26:56I'm Joe.
26:57I don't know if you remember, but the next game is against Toronto.
27:01Right. I know them.
27:03I will say as right as you are about all of that,
27:06which I think you just made some great points there.
27:07That's probably clip that whoever our producer is.
27:12It also just does seem like a move that like, you know,
27:15some guy sitting in his recliner watching the game would say,
27:19you know, David fucking Benjam.
27:22It's a terrible giveaway.
27:23Benjam for the whole third period.
27:26And you'd go like, Uncle Dave, they are not going to bench
27:30David Pasternak in the third period of a two goal game.
27:34They did. They did.
27:35They did a whole period.
27:37You can't really argue against it. It worked.
27:40I don't think they won because of it, but they won in spite of it.
27:46Despite it.
27:48In spite of it, right?
27:51In spite. Yeah, I think either works.
27:55I don't know. I don't know.
27:57Did you see that, Mr.
27:59Kevin Paul Dupont, he put out an article basically saying like, hey,
28:02it's not just money.
28:04And he like called out like four Bruins.
28:05What if which was the door of?
28:09It's an interesting time to be calling out the door.
28:11Yeah, I don't I don't know that.
28:13And this is like prior to these two wins, I'll say.
28:16Oh, OK. It was.
28:17I don't I don't know that.
28:19I feel like the door is worthy of a one of four call out.
28:25Like, yeah, he's making good money, but like I, I haven't had a problem.
28:29This is a door of play.
28:31He's doing what I want him to be doing.
28:33I. I would say I lean closer to him being top four or five guys
28:42that I would say I'm disappointed by.
28:45I, I think both of the acquisitions are.
28:49I mean, the Elias is eight points.
28:54He's doing all right.
28:55Like he again, this is prior to these two wins.
28:58So this is like a different mindset to be in. Right.
29:01I do want a little more idolized.
29:03I want more out of the door of.
29:04But like when we're talking about like the team falling apart
29:07and like the coach might be getting fired, I don't look to the door of is like,
29:11well, no wonder they're losing.
29:12Look, it's a door of it's like that's I don't know.
29:15Like I was way he did call it McAvoy.
29:18But I think out of all the defense and McAvoy, like in terms of.
29:22Playing to your ceiling, I feel like McAvoy was the furthest away from it.
29:27Yeah, I think it's look better.
29:30These last two games, he had seven shots of goal against Seattle,
29:33six in the first two periods.
29:35They all seem to be shooting more.
29:37They do.
29:37Pasta had seven shots in the first two periods before he got benched, too.
29:40It wasn't even like it wasn't at 30 shots as a team through two periods.
29:44Yes. Yeah.
29:46So like Seattle's nothing almost.
29:49Shots were like what, like 17 zero at one point.
29:52Judd was so mad about the first shot on goal.
29:55Did you hear that?
29:56It's like, are they going to count that?
29:57Yeah.
29:58They don't tell me they're going to count that as a shot on goal.
30:01You can't. It was weird.
30:03I was I happen to be looking at the shot on goal before that play transpired
30:06and there was a shot on goal already.
30:09At least there was one marked.
30:11So when he said that, I was like, see, think it's that one.
30:14I may be misremembering, but I really could have sworn
30:16that I was staring at the score bug when that play happened.
30:20And I was and I thought it didn't go up to two.
30:23What? Maybe he was just really hoping it stayed at one.
30:27He's like, start.
30:28There's a little bit of Jack in there.
30:29There's a little bit of bias is coming out.
30:32There was one play.
30:34I think it was in the Philly game
30:37where one of the Bruins got like very clearly tripped in the neutral zone
30:41and no call came and he like he was like, and no call.
30:45And I like I think it was like the you know, the making a murder
30:49graphic where it's like Cassidy.
30:51And yeah, I want I want to make one where it's Judd and Jack.
30:55It's like it's the same idea.
30:57It's like he's starting to leak out a little bit.
30:59There's a little bit there.
31:00I like that making a broadcaster or something.
31:03We can put something there.
31:05Yeah, we could do something there.
31:06There's something there.
31:07Yeah, I do want to talk about Jack.
31:10Yeah, but before that, before we get to the break,
31:14because I want to take we've got we've talked to somebody.
31:18I won't tell you who yet.
31:19It's game time.
31:20See, damn it.
31:22It's just game time.
31:23But we should please.
31:27We got to talk about our good friend Frederick Trent.
31:31Freddie Frederick, who has a thirst for blood at the moment.
31:37Rob, I would like to think
31:40that he just staunchly wanted to defend Matthew
31:44Patra in the moment that he did. He did.
31:47I also think he just wanted to kill a man and still does.
31:52I don't think he's gotten his fill yet.
31:55Something's going on.
31:57Something's going on.
31:57And Freddie is a bad out of hell.
31:59Maybe this isn't some of the coaching stuff.
32:01Maybe I was going to say that there might have been
32:04because this is like typically the role that he's been for this team.
32:06And he's at his best when he's mad, I think.
32:09Maybe not mad, but when he's when the blood's a little hot.
32:12So correct me if I'm wrong here.
32:15I can see his name in my head.
32:18Not Kovachelik, Kovachelik.
32:20What's his name on Philly?
32:25Connect me.
32:26Connect me.
32:27Was it Travis was connecting?
32:29I don't recall that.
32:31I don't think it was that
32:33Freddie got into it with in the final minute.
32:37And then it was the Potter hit was in the Seattle game.
32:41Am I getting that right?
32:42Yes.
32:42The Potter hit was in the Seattle game right behind the net.
32:45Freddie got.
32:46Yeah, it was connected.
32:47It was connected.
32:48It was connecting.
32:49And then he got the two minute not instigator unsportsmanlike.
32:54Did we figure out?
32:56Was it something that he said?
32:58Or were they accusing him of intentionally ripping off the helmet?
33:02Now that this is just coming to mind, it may have been just
33:06the amount he was trying to get around the linesman.
33:09To be honest, I don't know if that is like ground.
33:11I think that was more in the Philly like, oh, you're right.
33:14Yeah, you're right.
33:15I have that backwards.
33:15Yeah, I'm sorry.
33:16It was back to back nights of Freddie being a maniac.
33:19It's hard to keep track.
33:20Losing track.
33:21Yeah, I don't know if that's a good question.
33:23I don't think we ever got a definitive answer, and I do not
33:27believe we really ever will, but I don't know.
33:31So nobody else seemed very concerned about it.
33:33Everyone's looking at the two front sportsman like, why?
33:36I think they even say in the broadcast or their Bruins will
33:39probably be shorthanded here.
33:40I was like, was it just going to jump them?
33:43I don't know.
33:43The way the rec kept talking, I was like, is he about to give
33:45him the full 17?
33:47Is that what's about to happen?
33:48But that would have been insane for that context.
33:52But I mean, honestly, if you want to go back to the Philly
33:55game with connect me, you told again, I didn't see this game
33:59live, and you told me that you're like, this might be the
34:01maddest I've ever seen.
34:02Trent Frederick.
34:04And I'm not going to.
34:07So what happened was connect me in Frederick are pretty tied
34:09up and connect me like pops up with the glove on.
34:12And then, yes, that is grounds for getting pissed off.
34:14But Frederick, like something fucking snapped in him.
34:17Like he started, like, hitting him with, like, comically
34:22over the top.
34:22Like, I wanted to put, like, cartoon bang noises over it.
34:26Like, it was hammer punching him on top of the head with
34:29his glove, and the lines been holding him back.
34:31Looks like he was using every ounce of his strength to do
34:34so. Freddy was fucking pissed.
34:36Yes, I don't know if I've ever really seen a player for
34:42that long a period of time.
34:45Try to get away from alignment.
34:47Like, I've seen players, like, push and shove and, like,
34:51get a little out of control and, like, try harder, but never
34:54for as long to get away from alignments.
34:59Grasp, dude.
35:01I was worried Freddy was going to do something that.
35:03And I think Judd was, too.
35:04He was kind of saying, like, Freddy's got to be careful here
35:07because, like, you swing and you pop a linesman.
35:10See you.
35:11Yeah.
35:12Well, like, Max Jones kind of did.
35:15Yeah.
35:15Shout out, Max Jones.
35:17I saw somebody referred to him as minimum Jones.
35:19That's fine.
35:21It's pretty good.
35:21It's pretty good.
35:22Yeah, I can't find the clip now, but yeah, he was so fucking
35:26mad. And then in the Seattle game, Patra.
35:30Somebody has got to teach Patra how not to get murdered
35:33every game because it's becoming a point like any one of
35:37these hits is a foot away from being, like, season ending.
35:40Well, it's also being 161 pounds.
35:43He's 189.
35:46Sure.
35:47Possibly more.
35:49But no, it's right around there.
35:51But it's the positions he's putting himself in, like, that
35:54hit behind the net, like, kind of head down.
35:57He really should be anticipating that kind of hit in that
36:01scenario. And he got fucking level.
36:04Like, he already was, like, leaning back a bit.
36:06So they hit.
36:07It may have just looked worse than it was, but he got dropped
36:11by Larson.
36:12But Frederick, within, like, one and a half seconds, had
36:15his gloves off, and Larson dropped the gloves.
36:18Well, glove one of them stayed on, which at the time when
36:22it happened live, I was like, why are the refs immediately
36:25jumping into this fight?
36:25And it wasn't until I saw the replay that he still had a
36:28glove on.
36:29I was like, was he not really a willing participant?
36:31They gave him five for fighting.
36:33But yeah, what's the rule there?
36:35That's weird.
36:36You drop one glove.
36:37I don't know.
36:38Linesman, step in and stop it.
36:39But you still get five minutes for fighting.
36:41I think it's also because he had Larson turned around, so
36:45he was, like, hitting him from behind, like, that Ryan Lomberg
36:48fight I sent you.
36:49Oh, my God.
36:50That is now actual assault.
36:53Oh, my God.
36:54That fight was ridiculous.
36:56It wasn't actual.
36:58So a left was like there's so many left.
37:01He's begging for a right.
37:03Oh, my God.
37:03Brutal.
37:04But I love seeing Freddie like that.
37:08Freddie, you know what he is?
37:09Dude, he's a spark plug.
37:10Oh, that's a good one.
37:12That's a good buzzword.
37:12That's a good sports media word.
37:14Yeah, dude.
37:15Water.
37:15I work in sports media.
37:16Spark plug.
37:18All good.
37:19Local spark plug.
37:20Trent Frederick.
37:21He's Freddie Fisticuffs.
37:23He's back.
37:24I think the game against Toronto is going to be quite a bit
37:29because the last game, it was a good game.
37:34It was a very good hockey game, but it was not a contentious
37:37game, not a violent game.
37:41I'd like it to be this time.
37:43I really think it's going to be the Bruins coming off two
37:47wins, looking to keep it going.
37:49You got Freddie's blood.
37:50He's pretty still probably punching things right now somewhere.
37:53I would imagine Tyler Johnson is going to be in the lineup,
37:56so he's going to be a boost, too.
37:58He's going to be punching things.
37:59He's going to be punching Frederick.
38:02Everybody's punching Frederick.
38:04Yeah.
38:05Again, very glad for obvious reasons that Potter was fine
38:09in that scenario.
38:10But just to get back to that for a second, he gets crushed
38:14a lot.
38:14Like, literally every game.
38:16Like, I was joking before, but it is literally every game.
38:19He gets it hard.
38:21He does.
38:22He certainly has got to protect himself a bit better.
38:27Also, just talking about hard hits every game.
38:29I want to throw in Zdorov again.
38:31That man is good for at least three bone crunching hits
38:35a game right now.
38:37Like, my note here is I don't think there's a stronger,
38:42strong man I've seen on the Bruins in a while.
38:44I think of, like, Kevin Miller, because we have a lot of
38:47guys that are, like, big and strong, but they don't always
38:50play that game or they don't always fully use it.
38:52Yeah.
38:53Zdorov has control of every pound of muscle in his body
38:57to the point where he cannot use all of it.
38:59He can't.
39:00Like, these big hits he's laying, you can tell.
39:04You can see he's holding back.
39:06That is not full force.
39:08He's like, this is the right amount I need to get you on
39:12the ground.
39:12I want him fired up late in the year.
39:17I would love to see, like, the biggest scrum of the year
39:21that Zdorov is, like, in the middle of it, like, unhinged.
39:25Like, two linesmen got to grab each arm.
39:27Yeah.
39:28I want to see Zdorov mad.
39:30I'm scared of what would require him to get mad, I guess.
39:33I don't think we would come on here and be like, wow, did
39:39you see him get up?
39:40I think we would come on here and be in a little bit of
39:42shell shock.
39:43I can't believe that guy died.
39:44That's crazy.
39:45Zdorov killed a man on live television.
39:47This is going to be a memorial episode.
39:49Yeah.
39:49He punched a hole through his head.
39:51It was the craziest thing I've ever seen.
39:53Speaking of maybe not memorial tributes and whatnot, we got
39:59to get to a very important one after we talk to our good
40:02friends over at PrizeBeat.
40:04No.
40:04Oh, my goodness gracious.
40:06Over at Game Time.
40:07Cheating on him.
40:09There's nothing like seeing a game live.

40:45What time is it?
40:46It's Game Time.
40:48On Sunday, the Boston Bruins and TD Garden hosted Jack Edwards
40:54night, seemingly on a whim.
40:58I don't know.
40:59Did you know about this beforehand?
41:01Yeah.
41:02You did?
41:03Yep.
41:03How far in advance?
41:05About a week.
41:06A week?
41:07Yeah.
41:07Did they announce it about a week in advance?
41:09He was at a game in Boston.
41:14I'm blanking on which one it was.
41:15I think it was whatever game was before the Philadelphia game.
41:19They showed him in the stand and they made a comment.
41:21They're like, yes, this Sunday we will be honoring Jack Edwards.
41:25And that was kind of it.
41:26They didn't do a whole lot of like social media marketing for
41:29it, but that I did hear through the broadcast, like that one
41:33off comment from Judd.
41:35So from that, I knew.
41:36Okay.
41:37And then I think on Saturday they started.
41:40They posted a few things about it, too.
41:42But right.
41:42That's when I first saw about it.
41:44Yeah, yeah, yeah.
41:47First of all, the logo.
41:48It's a weird place to start, but whatever.
41:50Good.
41:51High above the ice.
41:52Good.
41:53Very good.
41:53Very good stuff.
41:54And them enshrining that in the booth permanently.
41:58You see that?
41:58Yeah.
41:59That's good, too.
42:00That's good, too.
42:01That's his booth.
42:02It's his booth.
42:08Weird, difficult comment.
42:10Conversation.
42:11But I'm going to just say it.
42:12Just come out and say it.
42:13That Jack's condition or symptom of this unknown condition, as
42:21doctors apparently still do not know what exactly is the cause
42:25of his speech issues.
42:28It has not subsided.
42:30It sounds like it may have continued to more than may have
42:34an impact.
42:35Yeah, it's gotten worse.
42:37Yeah, you can just call it.
42:39But the good thing, the beautiful thing about it, if you want
42:43to call it that, is that Jack seems to be at peace with what's
42:48going on and seems, he said, less self-conscious, which is
42:52great, because I don't know if you ever shared specifically
42:55what Jack said when we asked him to come on here.
42:58I don't think we did.
43:00I might have.
43:01Basically, just that he wasn't comfortable in this medium and
43:04that he was planning on doing one interview with somebody
43:06he's known for a while, but he didn't plan on really doing
43:11much vocal work.
43:13I think he specifically used the term self-conscious in that.
43:17Yes, he did.
43:18Yes, he did.
43:18He definitely did.
43:19He said, to be honest, I feel pretty self-conscious.
43:22He definitely is.
43:23The phrase self-conscious was definitely written.
43:25And he also specifically used that term on Nesson to say that
43:30I don't feel that way.
43:32So all this is to say, Jack, you have no fucking excuse to
43:35not come on our goddamn show.
43:37I'm just joking.
43:38I'm just joking.
43:40But no, that's great.
43:41That's great that he feels that way.
43:43He deserves all the honoring nights and praise in the world.
43:48Him talking about his wife and the sacrifices that she made
43:52and to have more time around his kids and talk about wanting
44:00to pursue his career and also making the joke and that career
44:04coming to hockey games.
44:07He's just a lovely spirit.
44:10Deserves all the praise.
44:11Obviously, we're huge fans of Jack.
44:13I think anybody with a brain is just a well-deserved night.
44:17Absolutely.
44:19My favorite comment from him during the whole night was,
44:24I'm loosely paraphrasing here, is despite what Toronto fans
44:29keep insisting, there's nothing wrong with my brain.
44:32That is good.
44:35He said it with, like, a smile and a laugh.
44:37Yeah.
44:38All right.
44:39You good?
44:40Yeah, I got to cap my face.
44:42Yeah, it was as tough as it was to hear that his condition
44:47has progressed.
44:49It's just very great to hear him, and it's great to see him
44:51being honored.
44:52And actually, I think my favorite part was the clips they
44:55showed of the team and the players talking about him,
44:59because that's not something we really have ever gotten.
45:02The only thing I can think of is that it was the Bruins
45:05Halloween two years ago, like Clifton and somebody else
45:08dressed up as Jack and Brick.
45:09And that was, like, the first time I remember, like, oh,
45:11they do know them.
45:12Like, obviously they know.
45:15I mean, do you see the clip of them asking Tuka, like his
45:20favorite call?
45:22I didn't see the Tuka one.
45:23I saw other ones, but I didn't see Tuka.
45:26I had the same reaction.
45:28I was like, he knows these two Ks, right?
45:32Yeah.
45:32To use two Ks, two points.
45:34Yeah.
45:34But as he was saying it, I was like, yeah, I guess that you
45:38would watch, like, replays.
45:39So yeah, I guess you would hear Jack and Bergie saying, you
45:45know, the Toronto, you know, stab the beast.
45:51Oh, yeah, the point of the dagger on their throat.
45:54Yeah, they showed a clip.
45:55He was walking through the hall up to Swayman, and Swayman's
45:58like, are you here to call one more for us?
46:00You got one more for us?
46:02That's awesome.
46:04Yeah, it was nice.
46:05So again, we love Jack so much.
46:06He's just a wonderful man, so passionate, so knowledgeable.
46:12And I love that so much of the comments from him.
46:15And there's been a lot of praise from Brick, obviously,
46:19but a lot of it centering around, like, Jack is Jack.
46:22He's one of one unapologetically himself.
46:25There will never be another Jack Edwards.
46:27And we were lucky to have experienced him like my least
46:31favorite word in the English language was vanilla.
46:33And I never wanted to be vanilla.
46:35It's that you never were Jack.
46:38And I think where I and I love Judd.
46:42I think he's doing a great job.
46:44And I even Alex Faust.
46:46I think he did a great job last year when Jack was away.
46:49I think it's just so tough to go from such a unique
46:52personality and one that's so powerful that it reaches all
46:58of hockey for better or worse.
47:02Like, you don't know other teams commentators.
47:05Other teams knew Jack.
47:08Everybody knew Jack.
47:09Most people didn't like Jack, but they knew him.
47:12They didn't like Jack because they weren't because Jack wasn't
47:16a fan of their team because he wasn't calling their games like
47:19that.
47:20And there was a lot of talk about that between Jack and
47:21Rick.
47:22They were like, we grew up Bruins fans.
47:24We have always been Bruins fans.
47:28And then we worked for them.
47:31Like, of course, they've been biased.
47:32I would want them to be biased.
47:35It's one thing.
47:36Nesson nails or did nail, I guess.
47:39You know, now that we're talking about in the past tense.
47:42But yeah, another always been an amazing booth.
47:46And the last line I'll say about him was the one that we tweeted
47:49out where he says, I think there's not an original six.
47:54If you're raised in New England, there's an original one.
47:57And the Bruins were that team from day one with me.
48:02It's awesome.
48:03It's perfect.
48:03Thank you, Jack.
48:04Deserve all the praise and all the kind words that you got on
48:08Sunday.
48:11And speaking of Jack Edwards.
48:15Boston Bruins are playing the Toronto Maple Leafs.
48:19Uh, this coming.
48:22Tomorrow.
48:22Tuesday.
48:23Yeah.
48:24Tomorrow.
48:24Well, if you're listening to this today.
48:26This coming Tuesday at 7 p.m. on November 5th.
48:31Tickets as low as?
48:33$70.
48:34$68 on game time.
48:37And if it's your first purchase, too, and you're getting the CLNS $20 off,
48:45you're getting into a Bruins Leafs game for $48.
48:50Buckaroons.
48:53Doubloons.
48:54$48 Bloons, dude.
48:56Smackaroons.
48:57Cashola.
48:59Casharoons.
49:00Rupees.
49:01That is free.
49:03$48 of the garden is free.
49:05$48 is chicken tenders with extra fries.
49:12With the Zamboni box.
49:14Zamboni box, I think, is actually another 100 bucks.
49:16But yeah, that's fair.
49:18I have a few random comments that I didn't get to come out with.
49:21So these I'm going to be bouncing around.
49:22Are they related to the Bruins or hockey?
49:24Yeah, they're related to the Boston Bruins.
49:26Okay.
49:27Just like stuff.
49:27I didn't know.
49:28You're right.
49:29Generals were like, you know.
49:30No, no, no.
49:31Hey, I like when the leaves change.
49:33I like when the leaves lose some stuff in the last two games.
49:38Some general stuff about the league.
49:39And then.
49:39Oh, that's interesting.
49:41Oh, my favorite segment.
49:43Matt Potter had his first NHL goal.
49:45NHL first goal of the season.
49:48Matt pot.
49:49And you know how difficult it was for me for him to score in the first game of the season?
49:53I don't launch.
49:54That's awesome.
49:54Yeah.
49:54I mean, listen, maybe you got to stop watching all these games.
49:57You know, I look to my buddy and I hit them hit with the.
50:00I know what I have to do, but I don't know if I have the strength to do it.
50:04And at first, when I looked at it through the box score, it was it was attributed to
50:07Geeky at the time, but that I saw tweets being like Geeky did not touch that puck.
50:12Yeah.
50:13And in typical Potter fashion, it wasn't even he was I don't even think he was trying to
50:16score there.
50:17I think he was just trying to get it in front of the net.
50:20So monkey off the back.
50:21He reminds me so much like crazy.
50:23Yeah.
50:24So just very glad to see that.
50:26And I think he's been playing very well.
50:27Much more physical, much more physical.
50:30He's last.
50:30Well, he's got those 11 pounds that he added in the offseason.
50:33He was in every one about all 176 ounces going to use.
50:38He yes, he's still getting run over, but he's getting more involved and more confident
50:43he's shooting more.
50:44I think he's a guy that like in the midway part of the season and later on, we're going
50:51to look back and be like, wow, he really was not.
50:53He took a little bit to warm up.
50:55I think he's going to really pop off in the coming weeks and months.
51:00What else we got here?
51:01Lori was a bit of a turnover machine.
51:03I'll say that he struggled a little bit against Philly.
51:06That's fine.
51:06Like it's it's Lori.
51:08We know that like he's young.
51:09Like it's it's expected.
51:11We knew that coming out of the season and yeah, he's not going to play every game and
51:16spoons will come in and he'll play a good game, which I thought he did against Seattle.
51:22Zach is missing the net a lot, which is why it was even more upsetting for him to have
51:26his goal wiped off because it was like, oh, sick.
51:29Not only did he finally get on net, but it went in the net.
51:31How great in the Seattle game.
51:35We have a bullshit star of the game alert.
51:37Another segment we'd like to do.
51:39Oh, third star of the game.
51:43And I'm sorry, this was this was the Philly game.
51:46I'm sorry.
51:48Hold on.
51:48Stand by now.
51:49I'm confusing myself.
51:50I think I'm wrong.
51:50Who is Bobby Brink play for?
51:52That's Philly, right?
51:56Yeah, please.
51:56OK, so this is the Philly game.
51:57I'm sorry.
52:00He was the third star.
52:02He had no points.
52:03He had two shots on goal.
52:06That was it.
52:07Brad Marsh, not a star of the game, had a goal and an assist.
52:11What's that about?
52:13Voted by the home media.
52:15Yeah, bullshit.
52:16Bullshit.
52:17What did he do?
52:18He's 166 pounds.
52:20What are you doing?
52:20Get out of it.
52:21Have you ever voted for a star of the game when you're credentialed at the garden?
52:25Nope.
52:25I didn't know that's how it worked.
52:27What do you think Bobby Brink's middle name is?
52:30Bonilla?
52:32Nope.
52:34Brinks.
52:35Just just focus on the first name for a moment.
52:39Bobby.
52:42Robert.
52:43Or.
52:46His full name is Bobby or Brink.
52:50Or is a bad Bobby because it sounds like you're picking between two names.
52:54It's Bobby or Brink.
52:55It's one or the other.
52:56Yeah, you've got to pick one.
52:57It's Robert or or.
53:00Or or or.
53:01Well, what if what if what if that I'm going to throw this on a step,
53:04but I'll throw to them and say, oh, that's interesting.
53:06Bobby Brink's middle name is or.
53:09Interesting note here is that Don Sweeney did not attend the brew or was not with the
53:15Bruins on Friday and Saturday, but was at the Columbus-Winnipeg game and the St.
53:19Louis-Toronto game.
53:22What's Don cooking?
53:24What's going on there?
53:27Wait, wait.
53:28It was the Winnipeg-Columbus?
53:30Yep.
53:31And St.
53:31Louis who?
53:32Toronto.
53:34Yeah.
53:36Interesting.
53:37Interesting.
53:38Oh, it's interesting.
53:39I don't even have a.
53:40Oh, he's probably looking at this guy.
53:41I have no idea.
53:42That's very interesting.
53:43It's interesting.
53:45And speaking of, oh, that's interesting.
53:49Well, this one's kind of been floating around the last time the Boston Bruins had
53:53shutouts and back to back days was October 27th and 28th, 2008.
54:00Wow.
54:00Both shutouts coming from none other than Mr.
54:03Timmy Thomas.
54:04Tim Tom.
54:05Of course.
54:06I just love the idea of like you putting in the same goaltender and back to back days,
54:09which is like not a thing that happens at all anymore.
54:12Like truly does not happen anymore.
54:16And then he had shutouts in both games.
54:18I think it was like it was 58 saves across both games, which is like 58 saves in 10 penalty
54:24minutes.
54:25Oh, yeah, he definitely chopped a few ankles that game.
54:28Yeah.
54:28And here's the one that I kind of alluded to before the show.
54:32All but four Bruins have a negative plus minus right now.
54:39Oh, that's interesting.
54:40It is Kepke, Beecher, Kastelic and Zdorov in that order.
54:46And Zdorov is only a plus three, Kepke with a plus ten.
54:50Yeah, I mean, everybody else is a minus one or lower, which like, yeah, like they've been
54:55struggling.
54:56There's still a minus goal differential.
54:57Makes sense.
54:58But we're not used to seeing that and it stuck out to me and they went one for seven on the
55:04power play these last two games.
55:06Yeah, still a problem.
55:07Still a problem.
55:08Great.
55:09They're looking better.
55:11It looks better.
55:12Looks better.
55:13I would like to see them do it against a good team, and they got a great chance to do it
55:16or Toronto.
55:18Oh, you want more fire like that dog?
55:24You just got to follow us on Twitter.
55:26I'd bear with me.
55:27Underscore pod.
55:29You can follow me at Joey Capone.
55:30You can follow him at Rob Tachi and we'll be back when after we'll be back later in
55:36the week.
55:36You're going to be gone.
55:37So much against my will.
55:40I have to be in Philadelphia or the Philadelphia boroughs for the next week.
55:44So you're going to say or rather Philadelphia has to be in me is what I thought you were
55:48going to say, which they don't say that I'm going to eat a lot of cheesesteaks.
55:51I'll be honest.
55:51So in that way, maybe a little bit.
55:53But do you do whiz?
55:56Yeah.
55:56When in Rome, who might argue?
55:59Yeah, I'm going to go.
56:00I already looked up the best cheesesteak place near where I'm staying, and I'm going to go
56:04there and be like, what is just give me what you think is best.
56:09Give me the classic.
56:12My family will get on.
56:13We'll go to restaurants, dude, and I'll ask the way I'm like, what's your best selling
56:18thing?
56:19What's the thing?
56:20Do you guys have a known for this?
56:21This is our main thing because I'll take that and they get on me.
56:25They're like, asking all the questions you got.
56:29I don't know.
56:29Not sitting here asking for you to rank them one to ten.
56:32Just what's the main thing?
56:34What are you known for?
56:34Give me a real taste of this joint.
56:36You know, I'm going to pull you behind the curtain a little bit right now and let you
56:39know, let you in on a service industry secret there.
56:42What are they getting commission?
56:43When you ask that question, you're going to get something that is either a I'm holding
56:49up a number one for a expensive or two just comes out really quickly.
56:55Ideally, both because that is exactly what I did when I was a waiter.
56:59I'd be like, oh, yeah, this thing is $40 and it will come out in three minutes.
57:03They're like, cool, great.
57:04I would sell it differently, but they're selling you, man.
57:08I think I think I'm personable enough.
57:10People aren't trying to sell to me.
57:11Yeah, that's fair.
57:11I'll give you that.
57:12There were times I'm like, you're cool.
57:13I'm not going to give you the hard sell because I don't know.
57:16You go to a seafood place.
57:17You're like, are you guys?
57:18Is it like your platter or is it like, you know, for the best?
57:21What's your big thing?
57:22A critic comes in.
57:23What are you giving them?
57:25Have you ever heard of the the joke?
57:26Norm Macdonald's son told him like the seafood joke.
57:31Maybe tell me.
57:33It's a I'm on the seafood diet where if I see food and it's a fish, I eat it.
57:44It was like you could see Norm like really trying not to laugh.
57:48He's like, all right.
57:52Oh, it's good.
57:53That's good.
57:53That's good.
57:54It's very good.
57:55All right.
57:55Follow us on the socials.
57:56Bear with me.
57:56Underscore pod at Joey Caponi had Rob Tachi.
58:00Rob is also he's managing the bear with me.
58:02Twitter blowing up, blowing up right now.
