00:04Here is our update on the Typhoon Marseille.
00:08The Typhoon Marseille is slowly moving towards northern Luzon.
00:17At present, the distance of the center of the typhoon is 345 kilometers west of Tuguegarao City, Cagayan.
00:28The strength of the wind remained near the center of the typhoon at 140 kilometers per hour.
00:36When the wind opened, it reached 170 kilometers per hour.
00:42It is moving west-northwest at a speed of 15 kilometers per hour.
00:50In the track and intensity forecast of the typhoon,
00:57we still expect that it will move generally westward
01:03and will pass through the center of the typhoon in extreme northern Luzon.
01:08We still expect that Marseille will remain in the Typhoon category
01:16until the Philippine Area of Responsibility leaves.
01:25We expect that on Thursday afternoon until Friday early morning,
01:33the center of the typhoon may landfall or approach the Baboyan Islands or the northern portion of mainland Cagayan.
01:45Before it landfalls or passes near the Baboyan Islands or Cagayan,
01:51we expect that it will reach its peak intensity of the Typhoon Marseille
01:59before it lands or approaches the Baboyan Islands or Cagayan.
02:06The estimated release of the Philippine Area of Responsibility is on Friday night.
02:17Here are the places under Tropica Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2.
02:23This is the eastern portion of the Baboyan Islands and the northeastern portion of mainland Cagayan.
02:33Signal No. 1 is located in Batanes in the southern part of Cagayan
02:39along with the Baboyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, Iloc Sur, Apayao, Abra, Calinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao,
02:49northern portion of Benguet, Isabela, Nueva Vizcaya, Quirino, and northern portion of Aurora.
02:58The highest Tropica Cyclone Wind Signal is No. 4.
03:06It also depends on the development of the Typhoon Marseille.
03:11For now, the highest signal that we will increase is Signal No. 4.
03:19Today, we expect strong winds in Ilocos Region, Quezon, Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, and Catanuanes.
03:32Tomorrow, on Thursday, we expect strong winds in Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Aurora, Zambales, Quezon, and Catanuanes.
03:48On Friday, we still expect strong winds in Ilocos Region, Isabela, Aurora, and Zambales.
04:01Now, we expect strong rain.
04:06You can see on our map the color yellow.
04:10That means we expect moderate to heavy rains in Cagayan, Batanes, Isabela, and Aurora.
04:22Tomorrow, we expect intense to torrential rain.
04:29That is the color red.
04:31The areas below this are Cagayan and Apayao.
04:35Heavy to intense rain is the color orange.
04:40The areas below this are Ilocos Norte and Batanes.
04:47The color yellow is the moderate to heavy rains that we expect tomorrow in Isabela, Abra, Ilocos Sur, Calinga, and Mountain Province.
04:59On Friday, we still expect intense to torrential rain in Cagayan, Apayao, and Ilocos Norte.
05:09Heavy to intense rain in Ilocos Sur, Abra, and Batanes.
05:15Moderate to heavy rains on Friday in Calinga, La Union, Benguet, and Mountain Province.
05:24Again, we should be careful and alert because we still expect intense to torrential rain that could lead to flooding or landslides.
05:44Because of the storm, we still have gale warning.
05:48These are the areas that we expect to see high waves in different seas.
05:55In Batanes, Cagayan, along with Baboyan Islands, Isabela, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, and Aurora.
06:07So, if there are gale warnings, we should not go to the mentioned areas because the waves are high.
06:22These are our warnings for the storm surge.
06:27We expect high waves in different seas that could reach 2 to 3 meters.
06:36In different seas, in Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Isabela, along with Batanes, and a portion in Ilocos Sur.
06:53That is our update for today on the storm surge.
