00:00Happy Friday to all of us. I am Benison Estareja.
00:05Before we proceed to our weather forecast, we still have an update regarding the potential weather disturbance or storm that will enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility within the next two weeks.
00:16Starting tomorrow until early next week, Monday, it is still possible for a low-pressure area to form here in the northeastern boundary of our Area of Responsibility.
00:25And here in the far east of Mindanao, in the southeast of Guam, outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
00:33This weather disturbance that is inside our PAR is possible to form as a low-pressure storm starting Monday until Wednesday.
00:40But as we can see in our latest track, it will not landfall but there is a possible enhancement here in the northern and central zone by early next week.
00:50While it is in the far part of our country, there is no direct effect to our country while it is moving north-west here in the Philippine Sea.
01:00Meanwhile, starting on Thursday until next weekend, it is possible for this to enter our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
01:08the second weather disturbance here in the eastern part of Luzon.
01:13It is still moving west-northwest and if they notice, there is still a low chance that it will landfall.
01:20But knowing that the storms that are coming here in the northern Philippine Sea,
01:25it is still enhancing Habagat or Southwest Monsoon in a large part of the country, especially in the western sections.
01:31So it is possible that it will rain, not only on Monday and Tuesday enhanced by the first tropical cyclone,
01:37but it will also be here in the second tropical cyclone when it arrives later next week, that is on Friday until next weekend.
01:45Our scenarios regarding these two weather disturbances can still change.
01:49So stay tuned for our updates.
01:53For the sake of time today, Habagat or Southwest Monsoon will still continue.
01:59Although it is gradually weakening, knowing that Super Typhoon Yagi,
02:03formerly known as Typhoon Enteng, is located more than 800 kilometers west of Ilocos Norte,
02:09heading towards southern China.
02:11So there is still a chance of heavy rain, especially in the areas of Central Luzon and Northern Luzon,
02:17while we are still monitoring the low-pressure area outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility northeast of Luzon.
02:24But this is not expected to be a threat and it is also not expected to be a storm in the coming days.
02:29The cloud clusters here in Northern Luzon are still being monitored for possible formation as a tropical cyclone.
02:38For today, we still expect a rainy season and heavy rainfall warnings over Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan.
02:46This is an effect of Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
02:49There is also a threat of floods or landslides, especially in low-lying areas and in rugged areas, respectively.
02:56We also expect a dry season in the remaining areas of Luzon, particularly in Mimaropa and Calabarzon.
03:05Metro Manila, the remaining areas of Central Luzon, rest of Ilocos Region, and Cordillera Administrative Region,
03:12as well as Batanes and Baboyan Islands.
03:14This is also an effect of Habagat plus the trough of Super Typhoon Yagi.
03:19The rainfall here in Southern Luzon, as well as Metro Manila, will be reduced,
03:24especially in the afternoon and evening, while the rainfall will continue here in Northern and Central Luzon until the evening,
03:31even though these are light to moderate with at times heavy rains only.
03:35So be careful and make sure that we have umbrellas and raincoats, like a raincoat, if the house is going to be evacuated for today.
03:42In the remaining areas of Cagayan Valley plus Bicol Region,
03:45part of the clouds and sometimes cloudy skies will still remain,
03:48accompanied by heavy rains or landslides, especially in the afternoon here in Cagayan and Isabela.
03:55For Metro Manila, the temperature is from 25 to 29 degrees Celsius, while in Baguio City, it is from 17 to 21 degrees Celsius.
04:04To our fellow citizens in Palawan, especially in the northern portion,
04:07the chances of light to moderate rains are still high this morning until the evening,
04:12but a large part of the province will see weather improvements in the afternoon and evening.
04:17In a large part of Visayas, the clouds will remain and it will be sunny most of the time,
04:21from morning until the evening, and only in the afternoon until the evening,
04:25there are only a few areas where there will be heavy rains or landslides.
04:30Our temperature here in Metro Cebu is a bit hot, 26 to 32 degrees Celsius.
04:36And speaking of hot, our large part of Mindanao will remain hot and sunny until the afternoon,
04:42and sunny morning until the evening, but when it reaches the evening until the evening,
04:47there is a high chance of landslides or landslides that last for one to two hours.
04:54Our temperature here in Mizambunga City and Davao City,
04:58it is possible to rise to 34 degrees Celsius when it reaches the afternoon.
05:02And because of the low tide, we still have the effect of gale warning or high waves
05:07in the western seaboards of Luzon, including Western Ilocos Norte,
05:12Lower Ilocos Sur, La Union, Western Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan,
05:17Western Coast of Occidental Mindoro, including Lubang Island,
05:20up to Calamian and Calayan Islands in the West Philippine Sea,
05:23you can still expect up to 4.5 meters or one and a half feet high waves
05:30that are dangerous to small sea vessels.
05:33The gale warning may disappear tomorrow afternoon,
05:36while the remaining part of our country will remain sunny
05:40until the high waves over the weekend.
05:43And for our three-day weather forecast,
05:46you can expect over the weekend the weather to be good in a large part of Luzon,
05:49including Metro Manila and the areas that are raining,
05:53Zambales, Bataan, you can expect the sun to shine
05:57while the isolated rain showers or thunderstorms continue
06:01and generally fair weather conditions in most parts of Bicol Region, Visayas, and Mindanao.
06:07But there is also the possibility that over this weekend,
06:10the low-pressure area among these cloud clusters
06:13will be formed here in the northeastern boundary of our Philippine Area of Responsibility,
06:17but this is not yet expected to be a storm.
06:21And by Monday, September 9,
06:24a slight enhancement is possible in Habagat or Southwest Monsun,
06:28it will return here in Northern Luzon and some parts of Central Luzon
06:32by Monday, once it is formed as a low-pressure area,
06:36the chance of it becoming a storm will increase in the coming days.
06:41Expect a high chance of rain, scattered rains and thunderstorms
06:44here in Ilocos Region, Cordillera, Zambales, and Bataan by Monday.
06:50But by Tuesday, it is possible that more places in Northern, Central Luzon,
06:55Metro Manila, and even parts of Calabarzon and Mimaropa will experience rain,
06:59so stay tuned for our updates.
07:02Our sunrise is still 544 in the morning and sunset is 604 at night.
07:08That is the latest. From the Weather Forecasting Center of Pagasa,
07:10I am Benison Estareja, always saying,
07:14hope for a good solution.
