00:00The production loss in Palay decreased by almost 240,000 metric tons within the past week.
00:08According to the Department of Agriculture Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center,
00:13this is almost half of the previous figure of more than 500,000.
00:18The decrease is the basis for the validation by the regional field offices of the government.
00:24It should be noted that the DA was the first to announce that there will be an annual average loss in Palay production
00:31from 500,000 to 600,000 metric tons due to the combined effects of El Niño, weather disturbances, and La Nina.
00:40Meanwhile, the government assured that there is sufficient rice supply in the country
00:44due to the upcoming imports of rice with lower prices.
