00:00Welcome development for the Philippine National Police,

00:03the creation of a Department of Justice Task Force

00:06that will investigate the cases of extrajudicial killings.

00:11In fact, according to the PNP,

00:12they will continue their investigation

00:14on a few cases of drug possession.

00:18This is what Ryan Lasigas has to say.

00:22The PNP will support and closely coordinate with the NBI and DOJ

00:29in their efforts to come up with a, again,

00:33credible investigation with respect to these sensational cases

00:37mentioned during the Congressional hearing.

00:39And of course, for including those questionable police operations

00:43that resulted in the death of so many.

00:46This is what the Philippine National Police, or PNP,

00:49has promised after the Department of Justice

00:52said that they will investigate the cases of extrajudicial killings

00:55during the war against drugs during the last administration.

00:59According to the PNP spokesperson,

01:01Police Brigadier General Jean Fajardo,

01:03welcome development for the PNP is what the DOJ will do.

01:09The PNP also said that even so,

01:13they will support the DOJ in their investigations.

01:17They said that the investigation on the case of the extrajudicial killings is proven.

01:21The truth is, said Fajardo,

01:23it is expected that the CIDJ will be able to handle the cases

01:27against those behind the extrajudicial murder case.

01:30We have always been supportive of the efforts of the DOJ to conduct investigation

01:37while the PNP is conducting its own investigation.

01:41But here, in the sensational cases that were brought up during the Congressional hearing.

01:47The PNP also reiterated that it is not limited to killings related to death squads.

01:52The CAUTUSANI PNP chief, Police General Rommel Francisco Marvil,

01:57that all cold cases will be brought up again.

01:59All unsolved cases, whether it's a murder or homeside cases,

02:05for as long as it will fall under the classification of unsolved cases

02:09during the time of the previous administration,

02:13as well as the current administration,

02:15these are now being looked upon by the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management.

02:22Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin Rimulya has ordered

02:26the creation of a task force to investigate the so-called extrajudicial killings

02:31in the drug war of former President Duterte.

02:34It is said that the task force will have a close relationship

02:37with the Quadcom, Senate Blue Ribbon Committee,

02:40PNP, WPP, CHR, and other government agencies for gathering information.
