00:00The agencies of the government are alert not only to the impact of Hurricane Nika but also to the other two hurricanes that are about to hit the Philippine area of responsibility.

00:11The DSWD promised to provide additional assistance to the affected areas as soon as possible.

00:19Patrick D'Azul is in the center of the news.

00:21The government is also watching out for the other hurricanes that are about to hit the country, aside from Hurricane Nika.

00:29It is also expected that Hurricane Ophel and Pepito will have an effect this week.

00:33The possible landslides are being prepared because the land could be saturated with continuous rain.

00:41Between November 11 and November 17, we will have three typhoons entering the Philippines, all in the same path.

00:47So, between Marcy and Pepito, that makes it four typhoons in 10 days, following the same trajectory.

00:56In addition to this, the government has ordered the mandatory evacuation of the affected areas,

01:02especially in the Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera,

01:06where there are 2,500 barangays that have a high chance of flooding and landslides.

01:12The government needs the coordination of the public.

01:16We are prepared on the ground as far as national agencies and first responders are concerned,

01:20but it's a matter of cooperation of our population that if there is an evacuation, we will resolve it.

01:28The Department of Health will coordinate with the LGUs for the care of high-risk patients.

01:34These include those in the third trimester of pregnancy, lactating mothers, children,

01:40elderly, persons with disabilities, and others.

01:44The hospitals are in good condition despite the storms caused by the DOH.

01:50Even though there were some damages from the typhoon Christine and the others,

01:57they were all remedied, so everything is functional and there are generators on standby

02:05to make sure that there is the continuity of services.

02:09The DSWD will continue to distribute relief items to affected areas

02:16where there are more than 227,000 family food packs,

02:20the prepositions in the Ilocos region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and Cordillera.

02:25Because we have prepositions of goods in the areas that we expect to be affected by this typhoon,

02:34we expect that we will be able to easily provide augmentation support to local government units.

02:40Meanwhile, because of the typhoon Marseille, one person died.

02:45More than Php 16 million was spent on agriculture, while Php 25.3 million was spent on infrastructure.
