00:00Good morning, it's Debra at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Tuesday, November the 12th.
00:05Just bringing you some of our headlines today in Doncaster.
00:09First of all, we've got a county-wide one for you.
00:12This week, South Yorkshire Police are taking part in SEPTA.
00:15It's a national week of action for police forces across the UK
00:19to show what they're doing to tackle and reduce knife crime in local communities.
00:24The operation is running until Sunday, November the 17th
00:27and officers will be showcasing their ongoing commitment
00:30to reducing knife crime across South Yorkshire,
00:33showing the work which goes on behind the scenes every day
00:36and hopefully bringing dangerous weapons off the streets.
00:40You can read all about that operation today.
00:43That's up on the website already for you.
00:46Then one matter that's going before Doncaster Council today.
00:50Planning officers are recommending there's an application to build a caravan storage
00:55on agricultural land in Doncaster.
00:59They're recommending it to be refused.
01:02The committee will meet today to determine the application,
01:06which is to build a storage site for up to 642 caravans in Braithwell.
01:14The problem being that it's a greenbelt land,
01:19which is why the officers have recommended that refusal.
01:22You can read all about that and then we will bring you the update
01:25after the meeting on the website as well.
01:28Finally, friends and family of a Doncaster woman who fell ill
01:34whilst on holiday in Benidorm are raising funds through GoFundMe
01:39to try and get her back to the UK.
01:42Adworth Street resident Sarah Hone set up the donation page
01:46after her friend Sally became poorly when she went on holiday to the Spanish resort.
01:53She was actually celebrating her close friend's 60th birthday
01:56when she left a hotel and collapsed and was admitted to hospital.
02:01She does have COPD, but she was then diagnosed with pneumonia
02:06and due to the severity of it, she had to be put into an induced coma.
02:10She is on the mend as much as she can be at the moment,
02:14but she is still stuck in Spain and it's going to cost a lot of money
02:17to get her back home so she can get treatment in England.
02:21They have set up a GoFundMe page.
02:25It's already raised a lot of money.
02:28They're hoping to raise ÂŁ4,000.
02:31There's a link you can click on that story if you wish to donate
02:35and you can find out more about what happened to Sal
02:38whilst she was in Benidorm up on the website today,
