00:00Pag-ibig fund announces its readiness to receive applications for housing and calamity loans for typhoon victims.

00:07PTV's Vian Manalo has the details.

00:12Merlita's house in Tandang Sora, Quezon City was submerged in flood due to previous typhoons,

00:18damaging some parts of her home.

00:20Her carinderia, which is her family's main source of income, was also affected.

00:26Every time a typhoon comes here, it's just a few minutes of rain and the flood is already here.

00:32Because our creek has shrunk, all of our things are here, our refuge, our belongings.

00:40Merlita is one of the Pag-ibig fund members who will benefit from the agency's calamity loan.

00:45Pag-ibig is open to receiving applications for housing and calamity loans for typhoon victims.

00:51The agency has already helped over 400,000 calamity victims this year

00:56through almost P6 billion from its calamity loaner.

00:59We have a one-month moratorium available for housing loan borrowers affected by the typhoon.

01:06So if a property of a member was damaged,

01:11he was able to buy it with the help of Pag-ibig Housing Loan.

01:14This is insured by Director-Emperor Sir Vian to help his reparation.

01:20The Pag-ibig fund has over 16 million active members thus far.

01:24Over P80 billion worth of housing loans were released to over 60,000 members.

01:30Member savings hit almost P100 billion,

01:33while the net income is P40 billion,

01:37and the recorded total assets reached over P1 trillion.

01:41Once you become a member of the Pag-ibig fund,

01:45it means that you are saving for your future.

01:52The Pag-ibig fund also continues in the promotion of the government's flagship program,

01:56the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pamilyang Pilipino Housing, or 4PH program.
