00:00In addition to 350 adherent pharmacies and more than 73,000 inhalers and respirators
00:09made and collected, these are the data that photograph the great success of the Recupera
00:14e Respira project, conceived and promoted by Chiesi Italia and Federpharma with the support
00:19of the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.
00:20The aim of the project, which was born as a response to the commitment of Chiesi to reach
00:25zero net emissions of greenhouse gas, is to modify inhaler disinfection habits, encouraging
00:30patients not to throw medical devices in the indifferent collection, but to return them
00:35to the pharmacy for their correct disinfection.
00:38This project is based on the correct disinfection of all respiratory devices, once disinfected,
00:44which are used by patients with respiratory pathologies.
00:47This avoids that there are greenhouse gas emissions, which are represented by propellant residues
00:54in the spray devices.
00:56The correct disinfection occurs through a thermovalorizer at a temperature of 1100°C,
01:02which on the other hand also produces electrical energy that is emitted in the region, in this
01:06case Friuli-Venezia Giulia.
01:08The president of Federpharma Friuli-Venezia Giulia explains how Recupera e Respira has
01:13an impact also on the role of the pharmacist.
01:15This initiative is very interesting because it opens a bit a scenario in which the role
01:21of the pharmacist becomes more and more important, not only for the pharmacies, but also for
01:27the care of the patients, to monitor adherence, to take care of health at 360°.
01:35The project promoted by Chiesi Italia and Federpharma fits perfectly into the strategy
01:40for greater sustainability adopted by the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region.
01:44This project perfectly integrates into a long-term vision that the region has, because
01:50it reuses the correct disinfection within a sustainable and environment-friendly economy,
01:58as the project of the inhaler recovery by the pharmacies goes in this direction.
