00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays and we can't believe our own eyes at how incredible these games
00:18look on the PS5.
00:29Before we continue, be sure to subscribe to our channel and ring the bell to get notified
00:33about our latest videos.
00:38Star Wars Jedi Survivor
00:46Cal Kestis' journey on the run through a galaxy far, far away is far from over and
00:51in Jedi Survivor, he visits some of the most impressively detailed and unique worlds of
00:56any Star Wars video game ever.
00:59While the game did suffer performance issues at launch, the beauty of George Lucas' vision
01:04was beautifully recreated with stunning detail, and the upgraded character models allowed
01:09Cal and his companions to convey their extremely emotional journey splendidly.
01:14Lightsaber battles had more ferocity, the number of areas open to explore was greatly
01:19expanded with each new area feeling like a completely new biome.
01:24After some much needed updates, Star Wars Jedi Survivor looks and feels like the closest
01:29we've ever been to the world of Star Wars outside of George Lucas' epics.
01:47Returnal
01:58Alongside the Demon's Souls remake, Returnal was one of the first PS5 exclusives to show
02:03off what the system was capable of.
02:06Developer Housemarque masterfully adapted their bullet hell shooter formula to a third
02:10person perspective, and along with one of the most hauntingly beautiful art styles this
02:14side of Bloodborne, there is still nothing like Returnal on the PS5.
02:19Every environment felt unique, with its own flora and fauna as well as some truly unsettling
02:25enemy designs.
02:26Despite the game's punishing difficulty at times, the world demanded to be explored right
02:31down to every single nook and cranny as players attempted to unravel the mystery of protagonist
02:36Selene's time loop.
02:38With gorgeous cinematics to flesh out the world and its backstory, more than just a
02:42compulsion for one more run kept players engaged in this Lovecraftian nightmare.
02:55Black Myth Wukong
03:06Game Science immediately made the gaming world stand up and take notice with their jaw dropping
03:11reveal trailer for Black Myth Wukong back in 2020, and after an upgrade to Unreal Engine
03:165, the game was even more stunning.
03:20Everything from the character of Monkey himself to the world design is meticulously detailed,
03:25and each new area feels completely different and unique from the next.
03:30Despite the realistic interpretation of the classic Chinese novel, the outrageous and
03:34creative enemy designs, particularly the bosses, feel tangible and part of this fantastical
03:40mythological world.
03:42With impressive physics and screen filling particle effects, the game never ceases to
03:46impress, and the world of Journey to the West has never been so beautiful.
03:52Even more impressive, this is Game Science's first true AAA release, and they managed to
03:57put many other developers with massive development teams to shame.
04:08Tekken 8
04:16Fighting games have always been a technical showcase for a game system's capabilities,
04:21but even with that in mind, Tekken 8 continues to set the bar for not only graphics, but
04:27unmatched fighting game mechanics.
04:29The first game in the series developed in Unreal Engine 5, Bandai Namco made the most
04:34out of the new tech, demonstrating their unmatched prowess in the fighting game genre.
04:39Classic fighters look better than ever, and the stages and arenas are awash with particles
04:44and lighting effects constantly filling the screen, making each match feel like a summer
04:49blockbuster spectacle.
04:52Background details deserve a special highlight, making every fighting ground feel distinct
04:56and every fight feel more alive as crowds of people cheer in the background or cities
05:01crumble.
05:02Every blow feels impactful thanks to screen-filling effects, and the cinematic presentation gives
05:07every fighter greater depth and detail thanks to their updated character designs.
05:18Alan Wake 2
05:25Remedy and their proprietary Northlight engine has proved to be one of the most impressive
05:30in the industry, and Alan Wake 2 is undeniably the engine's greatest achievement.
05:35Remedy has long blended the use of live-action into their games, and with Alan Wake 2, the
05:40blend between the two can oftentimes be indiscernible.
05:44The world of The Dark Place is appropriately unsettling, heightening the terror of Alan's
05:49predicament of being trapped inside a nightmare, while Bright Falls and its surrounding areas
05:54have received significant upgrades in the decades since the original Alan Wake.
05:59The darkness feels appropriately oppressive, forcing players to rely heavily on their trusty
06:04flashlight to cut through the encroaching dark.
06:07Each environment is brimming with impressive detail, bringing the world of Alan Wake to
06:12life and making the town of Bright Falls feel like a tangible place you could visit, even
06:17if you would never want to.
06:23Dead Space
06:31The nightmare of Dead Space received a dramatic facelift in 2023, and honestly, we've been
06:37hiding under our covers ever since.
06:39The decaying Ishimura is hauntingly beautiful, full of broken and bloodied corridors that
06:45now, thanks to the overhauled lighting, feel especially oppressive and claustrophobic.
06:50The once same-y hallways now feel like a ship designed for hundreds of crew members,
06:55and traveling to each new area feels distinct, making it much easier to navigate the dimly
07:00lit halls without getting completely turned around.
07:03The disturbing necromorphs have received special attention and updates to their design, crafting
07:08the nightmarish blend of human and alien hybrid things we always feared were hiding around
07:13the next darkened corridor back in 2008.
07:16The new gore effects also add additional depth, and make each encounter more nail-biting
07:21than the last as the redesigned monstrosities relentlessly hunt Isaac until their last limb
07:27is severed.
07:36The remake of Final Fantasy VII has continued to impress on a scale long-time fans could
07:52only hope for, and Rebirth has set a new bar for not only the continuation of the remake
07:57trilogy, but for the Final Fantasy franchise.
08:01Levels and areas long-time fans were intimately familiar with were brought to life in ways
08:06players could have only dreamed of, dripping with brand new details and the vibrancy we
08:10always imagined the game to have all the way back in 1997.
08:15Cloud and his companions look better than they did in Final Fantasy VII Remake, and
08:19leaving Midgard behind gave players more variety in the environments they can explore, all
08:24oozing with personality and beautiful details just waiting to be uncovered.
08:28The remake trilogy's flashy combat has also been updated, giving players access to even
08:33bigger and more powerful spells, all of which explode on the screen in eye-watering spectacle.
08:56To many, Cyberpunk felt like the true next generation of gaming, brought to us by the
09:01talented team behind the immaculate Witcher 3, and while Cyberpunk 2077 did set the gaming
09:07world on fire for all the wrong reasons, CD Projekt continued to update the game to the
09:12point it not only runs better than ever before, but looks even better than their original
09:17tech demo that set the hype train in motion.
09:20With the Phantom Liberty DLC, the world of Night City got a complete overhaul, rivaling
09:25the neon and rain-soaked streets of the Blade Runner films.
09:29In every way imaginable, Cyberpunk was updated from its original form, perfectly assimilating
09:34with the world obsessed with upgrades.
09:37More realistic lighting effects and reflections, screen-filling particle effects, impressive
09:41character animations, as well as flashy new abilities bring the world of Cyberpunk 2077
09:47to life the way the developers and players always envisioned.
09:58Astro Bot
10:08Astro Bot is quickly becoming the de facto mascot for Sony and PlayStation, and for good
10:13reason.
10:14The worlds Team Asobi have created are not only visual spectacles, but also brimming
10:19with little details all reminiscent of PlayStation's long and storied legacy.
10:26with personality, and each level and bot are downright charming, full of individuality
10:31that will bring a smile to even the most jaded of gamers.
10:34The special levels dedicated to specific games from Sony's catalog deserve special appreciation,
10:40as the devs managed to capture the look and feel of each game's world, while adding their
10:45own astrophied twist to the formula fans know and love.
10:49Astro Bot is not only a visual stunner for the PS5, and one of the greatest and most
10:54inventive platformers this side of Mario, but also a playable tour of PlayStation's
10:59library.
11:06Stellar Blade
11:13Another game from a dev taking their first steps into AAA gaming, Shift Up's Stellar
11:17Blade instantly caught the attention of gamers with its stunning protagonist and fast-paced
11:22blend of Devil May Cry and Souls-like combat.
11:25Set on an apocalyptic Earth, the desolated and destroyed landscape is impressive, with
11:30dilapidated and collapsing buildings becoming reclaimed by nature, set against the backdrop
11:35of a futuristic alien invasion.
11:38Particular appreciation should be given to the character designs, the main protagonist
11:42Eve in particular, whose design caused much undue controversy over her revealing design
11:47and outfits.
11:48The enemies are also varied while remaining distinctly alien.
11:52Specific abilities allow for flashy combat and over-the-top finishing moves, displaying
11:57impressive levels of liquid and particle physics.
12:01Despite running on the aging Unreal Engine 4, Stellar Blade is an impressive debut from
12:06a new studio and a visually stunning title for the PS5.
12:19Gran Turismo 7
12:28Polyphony Digital has always been on the cusp of realism when it comes to their renowned
12:33Gran Turismo series, and with Gran Turismo 7, they might have finally achieved the photorealism
12:40they've been chasing since the days of the PS1.
12:43Every car is lovingly crafted with so much detail, car magazines could use screenshots
12:49of the game and only the most ardent of car enthusiasts would be able to tell the difference.
12:55Watching the light perfectly reflect off your shiny speed machine is breathtaking every
13:00time, and the game's realistic weather effects even affect the way your car handles on the
13:05track.
13:06This attention to detail is reflected in the game's many tracks as well, although you'd
13:11be hard-pressed to notice all the minor details as you whip around at breakneck speeds.
13:17If Polyphony ever nails down the human NPCs, you'd be hard-pressed to tell these races
13:23aren't real.
13:30Fort Solace
13:39Fort Solace represents a great proof of concept for what developers of any caliber can accomplish
13:45with Epic's newest tech.
13:47The world of Fort Solace feels real and lived in, with much of the old base coming apart
13:53at the seams and clearly seeing better days, having weathered the many storms on the surface
13:58of Mars.
14:00Fort Solace also features some of the most realistic facial animations we've ever seen
14:05in a game, perfectly conveying every character's emotion and facial twitches.
14:10The game might be on the shorter side and oftentimes feel like an interactive movie,
14:15but the attention to detail and realistic design of the base as well as its look at
14:20life on Mars is undoubtedly one of the most visually impressive experiences we've seen.
14:31Resident Evil 4
14:38The original Resident Evil 4 graphically still holds up pretty well today, but what Capcom
14:43was able to accomplish with their impressive RE engine is nothing short of remarkable.
14:50Managing to maintain what made the original so iconic, while also making the world vastly
14:55more detailed and in some cases, more horrific, the Resident Evil 4 remake instantly became
15:01one of the standout releases on the PS5.
15:05Watching the Las Plagas parasite mutate its hosts into grotesque forms is shocking every
15:11time, and the environments Leon finds himself exploring are appropriately unsettling and
15:16foreboding.
15:18Lighting effects have also been greatly overhauled, with Leon's flashlight oftentimes being the
15:23only light source cutting through the darkness.
15:27Character models received significant upgrades, Ashley in particular, but Capcom didn't dare
15:32mess with Leon's luscious locks which now look better than ever in 4K.
15:38Now that is a beautiful man.
15:47Marvel's Spider-Man 2
15:59Insomniac's 2018 revival of Spider-Man was already a showcase piece for the aging PS4,
16:05and Miles Morales, despite being cross-gen, still managed to impress with its impressive
16:10lighting and detailed open world.
16:12However, for Spider-Man 2, Insomniac managed to create a New York that felt like the real
16:17living, breathing city that Spidey calls home.
16:21With updated character models and animations, super detailed cityscapes that whiz by lightning
16:26speed as you swing between skyscrapers, in addition to all new areas of New York to explore,
16:32Spider-Man 2 set a new benchmark for the Big Apple in gaming.
16:36The upgraded power of the PS5 gave players ultra-realistic reflections and somehow even
16:41better lighting, with Coney Island being a particular standout.
16:45With new modes of travel for the Spider-Man and lightning-fast fast travel, players were
16:49able to explore a New York so detailed, many could find their way around the city just
16:54by landmarks alone.
17:02Horizon Forbidden West – The Burning Shores While the base game Horizon Forbidden West
17:15is no slouch and also a visual stunner on the PS5, we're choosing to focus on the
17:20recent PS5-exclusive DLC, The Burning Shores.
17:25Without the last-gen PS4 holding Guerrilla back, The Burning Shores gives players a glimpse
17:30at what the Decima engine is truly capable of when it's set loose.
17:35The environments feel more densely populated and character models, even the background
17:40NPCs, have more detail to them and Burning Shores features some of the most beautiful
17:46water graphics we've ever seen in a video game.
17:49New and familiar machines got a facelift and featured even greater designs for players
17:54to dismantle.
17:56Not to mention that final and long-awaited encounter with the Horus remains grander in
18:01scope and scale than anything in the series thus far.
18:13Demon's Souls The masters of the remakes and remasters,
18:27Bluepoint Games held nothing back in updating FromSoftware's PS3 classic that launched
18:32the franchise, Demon's Souls.
18:35A launch title for the PS5, many more recent titles still haven't been able to compare
18:40with the updated Bulletaria.
18:43Formerly low-resolution boss encounters are now spectacles, full of disgusting attention
18:48to detail and the game's lighting effects have almost no equal on the console even almost
18:54three years later.
18:56Although a from-the-ground-up remake, Bluepoint managed to maintain the feel of the original
19:00game much like they did with their other recent remake, Shadow of the Colossus, but give it
19:05a fresh, beautiful upgrade befitting of the title's place in FromSoftware's growing
19:10catalog.
19:18Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart
19:29Insomniac is back again, living up to their studio mantle, and only a year after their
19:35impressive PS5 debut with Miles Morales.
19:39Ever since the early days of the PS2, Insomniac had been chasing the Pixar-quality graphics
19:45and as the film studio continued to master their craft, so too did Insomniac, and with
19:50Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, they may have even surpassed the benchmark.
19:55Each world is visually distinct and full of character, from glowing neon signs to dusty
20:01forgotten mining planets and even one that has players jumping back and forth through
20:06time.
20:07The studio's brilliant world-building and art direction reflect just how capable the
20:11studio is.
20:13It doesn't hurt that every character has also received a massive upgrade as well to help
20:18convey the studio's emotional tale, and the game's titular rift mechanic that allows players
20:23to seamlessly jump between worlds is endlessly entertaining.
20:34Final Fantasy XVI
20:50There was quite a lot of discourse around the fact that Final Fantasy XVI was going
20:54to be a PS5 exclusive, but once players got their hands on the title, it made a lot more
21:00sense.
21:01PS4 just simply couldn't run it.
21:05The scale of some of the encounters Clive and his companions encounter is unlike anything
21:09seen in the series, and the fact that all these sections are playable is still mind-blowing.
21:15With a gorgeous world to explore full of incredibly designed enemies, as well as a more grounded
21:21take on even the most fantastical elements of the game, Final Fantasy XVI not only plays
21:26unlike any other mainline Final Fantasy game, but its uniquely detailed world and characters
21:32make it a stunner in a series known for its graphics.
21:36And all those seemingly impossible climactic boss battles?
21:40Chef's kiss.
21:47God of War Ragnarok
21:59God of War 2018 was already a stunner on the PS4, and somehow, even with Ragnarok on the
22:05horizon, Kratos' second Norse adventure managed to be even more impressive.
22:11With Thimblewinter freezing over the Lake of Nine, the endless blizzard gave way to
22:16some of the most stunning vistas in the series to date as Kratos and Atreus travel to realms
22:21untouched by the prophesied Ragnarok, and boss fights that called back to the enormity
22:26of the Greek saga.
22:28Every new area the father-son duo explores is more jaw-dropping than the last, with Ironwood
22:35and the Spark of the World being true standouts.
22:38Kratos and Atreus and the rest of their companions all received significant upgrades as well,
22:43better conveying their emotions down to the smallest detail and lending further gravitas
22:48to the unfolding events of Ragnarok.
22:51Not even the PS4 could hold back the true power of the God of War.
23:08The Last of Us Part I
23:21While many bemoaned Naughty Dog remaking a game that was barely ten years old, there's
23:26no denying The Last of Us Part I is a visual showcase for not only the studio, but also
23:32the PS5.
23:34With the updates to character models, Naughty Dog was able to better capture the performances
23:39of Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson, and bring their characters to life in a way the PS3
23:45and even the remaster couldn't.
23:47The world Joel and Ellie explore feels more weathered and overgrown with plants reclaiming
23:52roads and buildings, and the true weight of a world in decline is on full display.
23:58Updates to the lighting, as well as the infected themselves, make exploring the world even
24:02more unsettling, and hearing the faint chirping of the clickers in the distance of a pitch
24:07black room is enough to make even the most seasoned players' blood run cold.
