00:00Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at some hilarious concert moments that weren't supposed to be part of the main performance, but ended up getting everyone's attention anyway.
00:22People who play percussion instruments, like drums, sometimes have a reputation for being wacky.
00:31But it's not really accurate. Naturally, though, accidents do happen.
00:35In this concert at the University of Regina in 2018, the bass drum player had to give three big, loud beats.
00:43He got the first two, but was so excited that on the third, his mallet flew out of his hand and conked the percussionist standing next to him.
00:52Fortunately, she was only bruised.
00:54Later, she asked for a copy of the video, thinking it might amuse some other students at the university.
00:59But to her surprise, it went viral, picking up millions of views in just a few weeks.
01:05The bass drum player is still very sorry.
01:14In 1992, Nirvana was invited to perform live at the MTV Video Music Awards.
01:25They were up for several awards themselves, and ended up winning two.
01:34However, the performance itself is best remembered for a less dignified reason.
01:39Kris Novoselic, Nirvana's bass guitarist, enjoyed throwing his guitar in the air and catching it again as a stunt.
01:55From his height of 6'7", it probably looked impressive most of the time.
02:03On this occasion, however, he failed to catch the guitar and it came down on his head.
02:07Luckily, Novoselic was not badly hurt.
02:10He later claimed that he was blinded by the light, which might have inspired Nirvana to write a great rock song if Bruce Springsteen hadn't beaten them to it.
02:25If you're not familiar with classical piano, you might not realize that pianists have an especially hard time with sheet music.
02:38They can't memorize everything, and how do you turn pages when both hands are busy playing?
02:43Well, it takes practice, and it still sometimes goes wrong.
02:46This gentleman at Montclair State University playing Chopin for a cello recital was apparently doing great until the finale.
02:54Instead of turning the page, he tore it out of his binder and threw it behind him.
02:59The trouble was he still needed the other side.
03:02After some attempts at improvisation, he finally had to stop the cellist so he could recover that precious lost page.
03:13But it could have been worse. At least the piano didn't eat it.
03:17It's not uncommon for crazy fans to rush the stage at concerts, but this incident at Britney Spears' 2017 Las Vegas show stood out in a few ways.
03:28First, this person cartwheeled their way onto the stage, pursued by a security officer in a yellow shirt.
03:33While being escorted off, however, they managed to perform in front of the audience.
03:38This person cartwheeled their way onto the stage, pursued by a security officer in a yellow shirt.
03:43While being escorted off, however, they managed to perform a jujitsu-style move, throwing the officer over their shoulder and onto the floor.
03:51At that point, it was on.
03:55More guards jumped up to the stage, and a slew of backup dancers appeared to wrangle this extremely agile lunatic,
04:01who was finally subdued and dragged off after about five minutes.
04:09While the audience probably didn't appreciate having their concert interrupted, they certainly got a show.
04:23You never know who or what might turn up at an outdoor performance.
04:28During this concert in Turkey in 2017, the Vienna Chamber Orchestra had a surprise visitor.
04:36Whether it was the sound of Mendelssohn, the warmth of hard-working musicians, or maybe the smell of someone's recent dinner,
04:42something attracted this yellow lab to the scene.
04:46Specifically, the dog seemed drawn to the concertmaster,
04:50and after a bit of sniffing and looking around, he curled up contentedly in front of the first violinist,
04:56much to the amusement of the string players nearby.
05:05The conductor, however, didn't seem to care.
05:09The conductor, however, did not acknowledge their visitor's presence, so the music continued without interruption.
05:14The conductor, however, did not acknowledge their visitor's presence, so the music continued without interruption.
05:20Whether the audience was still paying attention to the orchestra at that point is anyone's guess.
05:30Again, we're not trying to say anything stereotypical about drummers.
05:39In fact, we didn't even come up with that title. He did.
05:47Back in 2010, a video entitled,
05:53featuring a rather dull cover band playing a rather dull concert,
05:56and an incredibly energetic drummer,
05:59whose dramatic arm movements and mesmerizing stick tricks made a striking contrast to the bland music.
06:09The video grew into an internet sensation,
06:11and the mad drummer, who had previously been struggling to make a living as a musician, became a star.
06:19You may have seen him on NBC's The Office, in an Advil commercial,
06:23or just in one of the many amazing videos where he lights up the background of some boring gig.
06:29What arthritis pain!
06:33Whatever children perform, there are generally some unexpected additions to the show.
06:43But not many of them end up going viral and being featured on the news.
06:47An 8-year-old with amazing dance moves, who lit up social media, got to show off his skills on a new stage today.
06:538-year-old Jaden Williams had apparently been eagerly anticipating his elementary school winter concert in Menlo Park, California.
07:00Soon after everyone started singing, he also started dancing.
07:03Like, seriously dancing.
07:05He later said he was feeling the vibe.
07:08Jaden's father says his son has been dancing since he started walking.
07:13A parent at the concert posted her video on Instagram, and as they say, the rest is history.
07:20Actually though, there is a little more to the story.
07:22After hearing that Jaden was a fan, the San Francisco 49ers invited him to perform at their football game in Levi's Stadium.
07:29Keep feeling the vibe, Jaden!
07:31Wow, he has so much confidence!
07:33Jaden performed in front of thousands during the fourth quarter of the 49ers game against the Washington Commanders at Levi's Stadium.
07:46This incident involved another audience member who got on stage during a concert.
07:50But in this case, the guilty party was somewhat slower and therefore a lot creepier.
07:56Creepy, confused-looking dude!
07:59During her 2017 Dangerous Woman tour in Philadelphia, Ariana Grande was kneeling in the dark among clouds of fog as she sang the contemplative song, Moonlight.
08:12A young fan in visible lighter clothing appeared behind her, slowly making his way toward the front of the stage.
08:18When they got close enough to catch the singer's eye, they waved and then were promptly taken away.
08:24Aw, he's saying hi right before security drags him off!
08:27How they got up there in the first place is unclear, but why security took so long to deal with them is even more of a mystery.
08:34Ariana came to his defense!
08:39And then she went and rescued the guy!
08:45Kidding! She just kept on singing. What a pro!
08:492. Billie Eilish and the Unexpected Automobile
08:52No, this isn't the title of some new novel by Lemony Snicket, but it was a peculiar series of events.
09:01At a 2022 concert in Sydney, Billie Eilish was singing her emotional ballad, When the Party's Over,
09:06when suddenly the deep blue lighting switched to flashing orange and a random video of a moving car appeared on the screen behind her.
09:14Eilish was taken aback for a moment, but she laughed it off and finished the song.
09:19However, this wasn't the end of the story because someone just had to make a TikTok filter out of it.
09:26Soon afterwards, people were accidentally popping up in the video behind Eilish all over the place,
09:31ensuring that her strange background incident would be remembered for years to come.

09:531. Left Shark
09:59Yes, Left Shark!
10:06The man, the myth, the legend and probably the best remembered part of Super Bowl 2015.
10:20For those who may not remember, Katy Perry performed the halftime show that year
10:24and in the song Teenage Dream, she was joined by two dancing sharks who became known simply as Left Shark and Right Shark.
10:31Why the distinction?
10:33Well, because as the song went on, one shark was clearly doing something very different from the other.
10:42Viewers were captivated by the uncertain flailing and what appeared to be valiant but unsuccessful efforts to get back on track.
10:52Left Shark became the subject of tweets, memes and even motivational speeches.
10:56Do you think you're a good dancer?
11:00As somehow this helpless dancing sea creature captured the hearts of people all over the world.
11:09Have you ever been to a musical event where someone or something in the background stole the show?
11:13Tell us about it in the comments.
11:15He now uses Left Shark on his resume.
