After years in a puppy mill, this golden doodle was too scared to walk on a leash. Now she's the bounciest, happiest girl who brings her mom a sock every morning ❤️

00:00It's okay. It's okay.
00:05You can tell that she never had the room to fully lay down.
00:10It's okay. Don't be embarrassed.
00:12This is the moment where I realized that she was in far worse condition than I could have expected.
00:18Daisy was rescued from a puppy mill in Iowa along with 200 other dogs that were in really bad conditions.
00:23You're gonna be okay now. You're safe now.
00:26She was hyper aware of everything going on around her.
00:29You can see the fear in her eyes. She was so scared.
00:33Hi. You're so beautiful.
00:38This was a whole new world that she had never seen before.
00:50Are you happy? Are you a happy girl?
00:55I did not know that I would be getting a golden doodle.
01:00It took a couple of months to start seeing her beautiful little curly coils come in
01:04and realize that she is going to be this big fluffy beautiful girl.
01:12Daisy, I've never heard you bark. Oh my gosh.
01:18One of the most important things that I could have given Daisy is giving her the freedom of choice
01:22to let her do what she wanted because she was never given that choice.
01:27Some of the first signs of her getting comfortable in her new house,
01:30she wasn't playing with toys but she did love to tear up paper towels which I thought
01:37was the funniest thing and I let her do that because it was kind of her way of being a dog.
01:44Have at it. Tear as much paper as you want.
01:48Did you do that? It's almost like she was a puppy all over again.
01:52I'm not mad. It's okay. Six months in, she brought me a sock every single morning.
02:03That's the way that she would wake me up. When I started taking her out for walks,
02:08she would only walk a few feet and then stop. She would just,
02:12whoever she would be very afraid, she would hide and now she's just a confident thriving girl.
02:18Are you happy? Daisy, are you ready? You want dinner? Let's go.
02:24Sometimes she gets afraid of eating from her bowl because it makes noise.
02:28It's okay. That's not gonna hurt you. Go eat your dinner. Don't be scared. It's okay.
02:37I give her a lot of encouragement, a lot of positive reinforcement.
02:40Good job. That was very delicious, right? You did such a good job. Thank you.
02:53Some of the things that she used to be afraid of, I've noticed that she's building up the
02:57confidence to not be afraid of them anymore. And I thought that was incredible. I'm like,
03:01wow, look at you. You are such a brave girl. I look at Daisy, I'm like, I can survive anything
03:06because she survived it. And I know love is real because of Daisy. I know love exists because she
03:13exists.
