00:00Good morning, everybody, and welcome to the Ralph Macho roast.
00:22I was so thrilled when Ralph told us, told me that we were going to get our stars today
00:26and we were going to present each other.
00:30I was thrilled.
00:31Of course, I said yes, and then I realized mine wasn't ready yet.
00:36What a thrill to be here, to hear all of the accolades.
00:40I met Ralph in 1984 in the back lot of Columbia Pictures, and he was fresh off the Outsiders.
00:46I was auditioning for Karate Kid.
00:48I was green as an actor, and I remember rehearsing with him by the cars before we went in to
00:52meet John Appleton.
00:54As we were going through it, I stumbled over a line, and he gracefully either picked up
00:58on that or calmed me down and said, I think they changed something.
01:03When I met Ralph, he was, in my mind, a huge star.
01:06As you saw on 8 is Enough, Jeremy Andretti, it was my first time I saw Ralph.
01:12I was a huge 8 is Enough fan.
01:16From day one, Ralph was a big star and a big talent, but he was Ralph.
01:21You get that the second you're next to Ralph.
01:25As bigger than life as he is, he's so grounded and so easy to be with.
01:33In many ways, his stardom far surpasses all of that he's done here.
01:42He's a consummate ... It's been great doing Cobra Kai with him again.
01:45He's professional.
01:46Let me pull up my notes.
01:49I had two minutes to write this, so I just want to get to it.
01:52Hold on.
01:53No, I have two minutes to write this.
01:54I have two minutes to say.
01:55I get more than two minutes?
02:00Okay.
02:02After all these years, he hasn't changed a bit.
02:04Ralph is the secret of youth.
02:05Actually, Ralph is youth himself.
02:09It's been a total pleasure working with him.
02:10He's a total pro.
02:11He's focused.
02:12He's purposeful.
02:14He elevates his castmates and sets a friendly, professional tone from the top down.
02:18He cares deeply about his work and his craft as an actor, director, and all-around artist.
02:23His passion and authenticity is contagious and challenging, and everything you'd want
02:27and hope from a creative partner.
02:29As eloquent as he is as an artist, it doesn't stop on screen.
02:32He's just as genuine and searing good as a father, as a husband, and a friend, and all-around
02:37family man.
02:39I love Ralph.
02:40He kicked his way into our hearts in the 1984 movie, and literally right through my face.
02:47So, friends and fans, as you walk all over Ralph's star in the future, know that you're
02:54walking over a lovable, sincere, earnest, talented entertainer, and his star will be
03:00forever memorialized here for generations to come next to the late, great Pat Morita,
03:04where his star belongs.
03:08There's really no words.
03:10Ralph and I, how do you measure a friendship and a relationship for four decades?
03:17It's a gift that we get to keep doing this together, and our friendship has grown so
03:22much.
03:23I love him like a brother, like a family man.
03:26He's an uncle to my kids, and I'm like a bad uncle to his kids.
03:32And this day is so well-deserved, and I'm so honored and thrilled to be a part of this.
03:37I love you, man.
03:39I can't wait to see what's coming in the next four decades for you.
03:43All right, everybody.
03:44No mercy.
03:45Love you, Ralph.
