00:00Yeah, this is normally a race that would probably have maybe like an 80 $90,000 purse and it
00:08wouldn't be a stakes race.
00:09But these horses get to run for stakes placing, which could be very impactful for breeding.
00:14You know quite a bit about the breeding operation and just to give horses and connections an
00:19opportunity to run for bigger money and to be local.
00:23So I just love state bred programs, breeding incentives, and anytime we can get a chance
00:28to plug a few races like this, I thought we could take a quick look at some of these
00:31fun races on Saturday at Aqueduct.
00:33Absolutely.
00:34All the programs are a really great part of racing that a lot of people don't even know
00:37about.
00:38So this first one is race seven on Saturday, right?
00:43On Saturday.
00:44Absolutely.
00:45Up at Aqueduct.
00:46And I like the six in here.
00:47My shady lady, five to one morning line odds, interesting contender who has targeted a lot
00:53of these New York stallion series stakes in her career and actually won two divisions
00:58bringing in nearly half a million in earnings so far.
01:01And seeing what her trainer has done so far, it makes sense to assume that this race has
01:04been the goal and they're cutting back a distance from a mile and eight to seven furlong.
01:08So I like that cut back.
01:10Also the number seven, Athena Beach at three to one odds should get an easy lead in the
01:15race.
01:16Look at the projector, right?
01:17She's way up front as we can see.
01:18Yeah.
01:19Fast outside draw is going to help with that.
01:22She'll get some pace pressure from the two probably I think Sunday girl, but I could
01:26definitely see this playing out with her wire in the field.
01:29And for me, I'm going to take a look at the three Kaleem magic a little bit.
01:33Actually shout out to producer Bobby.
01:35Bobby's had to hear me talk about these races on the DRF YouTube channel.
01:38Also over here.
01:39So he's been hearing me talk all about the New York races.
01:42I think Kaleem magic could sit a nice trip just like where they have Kaleem magic projected
01:47like third or fourth and maybe be one of those horses that takes advantage.
01:51If a horse like Athena Beach gets a little bit tired upfront.
01:55I was looking at like the three and the four as the horses that might be able to get the
01:59really nice trips in the middle of the pack and then kind of stock and pounce here in
02:03race number seven.
02:04So that's a look at the first of two of the sire stakes races on Saturday.
02:09Let's flip the page and take a look at race number eight.
02:12So we just looked at the Philly and mare sprinters.
02:14Now we get to flip over and take a look at the boys here going seven furlongs in this
02:19one Alexa just kind of looking at some of the major players in here.
02:23The number six Antonio of Venice is the horse to beat, but he got hurt earlier in the year.
02:28So he has not raced since April.
02:30So when you have horses coming off of long layoffs like this, you always have to be a
02:33little trepidatious with them because you're not exactly sure if they're going to come
02:37back the same way that we saw them, right?
02:41Horses are not robots.
02:43They're creatures of hat.
02:44They're creatures.
02:45They're individuals, right?
02:46Some they can get sick.
02:47They can have little things that are different.
02:49But this is a horse to kind of start the conversation with.
02:52He's probably not one to bet though.
02:54You have a couple others in here that you might be looking to play.
02:56Yeah, I do think Antonio of Venice is going to be the toughest in here.
03:02You know, I understand he's had an injury, but training well.
03:06And if you see on the time form projector, it says favors front runners and should have
03:10the best early speed.
03:11But my next choice would be the number five light man at four and a half to one odds or
03:16plus 450.
03:18This horse is improving form and also had a year and a half off before coming back this
03:22January and during that time dealt with a bone chip in his knee, two cases of bone bruising,
03:27which I always compared to shin splints and a nearly fatal infection.
03:31So he's on a comeback tour and has run seven races this year, won four of them, never missed
03:37the board.
03:38So this would really kind of be an epic finale to his four year old campaign if he can come
03:41back and pull it off.
03:42As we look at the projector here, for me, when I'm handicapping the races, whenever
03:47I'm doing my prep work and my research, I always have to have it mapped out in my head.
03:51I have to be able to kind of see it.
03:53How is it going to play out?
03:54And for me, when I was looking at this race, I went to the number four CC a bellow because
03:59I sort of think what the projector thinks here.
04:02I think CC a bellow might be able to be sitting in a really good spot, like third or fourth.
04:07And if Antonio Venice is a little bit short, is a little bit tired because he has not run
04:11since April, the four CC a bellow might be one of those horses that can benefit most.
04:17Alexa, you and I have the horses that are kind of sitting right next to each other again,
04:20right?
04:21We're looking for horses that are going to be in that spot in case a horse like Antonio
04:25Venice gets a little bit tired and our horses can capitalize.
04:29The number three Doc Sullivan is one they'll all have to hold off in here.
04:32Another one of the horses to beat in this one.
04:35But just a quick look at two sire stakes races out in New York this weekend.
04:39We love to bounce around as much as we can.
